By now, you’ve probably seen your fair share of one-off, exclusive Rolls-Royce models the automaker’s Bespoke personalization division created for Rolls-Royce Abu Dhabi as part of the dealership’s Wisdom Limited Collection. Well, we’re down to the last one-off exclusive and it’s a good one. It’s called the "Rolls-Royce Ghost Inspired by Ancient Trading Routes" and by far it’s the most colorful of all the one-off Rolls-Royce models that make up the collection.

Like most of its contemporaries in the Wisdom Limited Collection, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Inspired by Ancient Trading Routes is largely defined by the use of exclusive colors in its body and interior. In this case, Rolls-Royce Bespoke went for a colorful approach to signify the region’s rich trading history with other countries, most notably India and China, and the routes that these traders took to get their products in and out of their respective regions. It’s a fitting tribute to a significant part of Abu Dhabi’s history that helped shape the country into the booming urban jungle that it has become.

What makes the Rolls-Royce Ghost Inspired by Ancient Trading Routes so special?

There’s a population of Rolls-Royce owners who prefer their Rollers to look the part of a subtle, classy and luxurious sedan. On that note, I’m not quite so sure that the Ghost Inspired by Ancient Trading Routes is for them. In keeping with the colorful history of ancient trading in those parts of the world, Rolls-Royce Bespoke went for a white and gold exterior that accomplishes being class and flamboyant at the same time. Gold, after all, was one of the most prominent items to be traded at that time, so it’s only fitting that the color makes its way into a one-off exclusive that celebrates the history attached to it. To be fair, the gold shade isn’t of the shiny aesthetic so it works well with the subdued white shade on the hood, roof, and trunk of the sedan. Those looking for natural shiny gold on the Ghost’s exterior can find it in the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, which pops out more than it already does.

The Ghost Inspired by Ancient Trading Routes is also the only one of the seven one-off Wisdom Limited Collection exclusives whose identifiable body stripes run differently from the other exclusives. While those models feature stripes that run completely horizontal along the sides, the Ghost Inspired by Ancient Trading Route’s stripes actually run from the Ghost’s front grille all the way up to its shoulders and back down along the luxury sedan’s taillights. The placement of the graphic decal – a group of traders and their camels – is also located behind the rear doors, far from the front doors where the other graphic decals of the other one-off exclusives are located.

As unique as the Ghost Inspired by Ancient Trading Route’s exclusive features are, it’s interior is really what people should be talking about. This particular one-off wins through the sheer number of colors that Rolls-Royce Bespoke used in the interior. There are shades of purple and yellow spread throughout the cabin. There’s some blue in there too, specifically on the steering wheel, A/C unit, door handles, speakers, and even the seat belts. All of those colors were put to good use and we’re not even talking about the white upholstery and the red carpet. The sheer number of colors used inside the cabin is representative of all the products that were traded during that time. Be it silk, gold, carpets, or whatever item there was, Abu Dhabi’s colorful trading history is personified quite exceptionally inside the cabin of this one-off exclusive Ghost. It may not be for everyone, but it certainly captures the imagination in more ways than one.

The last bit of noteworthy detail is the Ghost Inspired by Ancient Trading Route’s engine and performance capabilities. Don’t look forward to any upgrades though because none of the seven one-offs were given power and performance enhancements. Despite that, the one-off Ghost is still capable of a lot of power coming out of its 6.6-liter V-12 engine that produces 563 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque. Those figures help the Ghost hit its 60-mph stride in just 4.7 seconds before proceeding to set an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
