The relationship between British luxury car brand Rolls-Royce and a Middle Eastern country like Abu Dhabi is ever-evolving. We already know that Abu Dhabi is one of the automaker’s biggest markets, third only to the U.S. and China. That hasn’t changed despite stagnating sales in the region, which Rolls-Royce blamed on economic and political uncertainty. Even if there is a relative downturn in business in Abu Dhabi, it’s still a significant market for the company as properly shown by Rolls-Royce Bespoke’s Wisdom Limited Collection for Rolls-Royce Abu Dhabi.

We’ve gone through a number of one-off models that make up this seven-model collection. Now we’re turning our attention towards the "Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Inspired by Qasr-Al Hosn." Like the rest of the Rolls models that make up this collection, the Phantom Coupe Inspired by Qasr-Al Hosn is heavily dressed up and inspired by something that’s unique to Abu Dhabi. In this case, it’s Qasr-Al Hosn, considered as the oldest stone building in the capital of the United Arab Emirates and a national landmark at that for its long and rich history. For its part, Rolls-Royce Bespoke kept with the theme of the Wisdom Limited Collection, presenting the Phantom Coupe as inspired by one of Abu Dhabi’s most important landmarks.

What makes the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Inspired by Qasr-Al Hosn so special?

For those who are familiar with Qasr-Al Hosn, you know the enormous significance the place has in the history of Abu Dhabi. For those who aren’t as familiar, here’s a brief history of the building. Qasr-Al Hosn is more commonly known today as the White Fort, in part because it was painted with a bright white finish during its renovation spanning the 1970s and 1980s. It’s been around since 1761, first as a watchtower, before evolving into a small fort and then becoming the permanent residence of the ruling Sheikh until 1966. Today, Qasr-Al Hosn is more of a historical landmark that houses, among other things, a museum about the history of Abu Dhabi. In other words, it’s as good a subject as anything in the country to get its own exclusive one-off Rolls-Royce.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Inspired by Qasr-Al Hosn pays tribute to the iconic landmark in a number of different ways. Arabian Blue is the color of choice for the coupe’s body with Arctic White being used on the hood, roof, and trunk of the Phantom. The two colors work well in so much as creating a nice contrast with each other. Like all the other one-off Rolls-Royce that’s included in the collection, the Phantom Coupe Inspired by Qasr-Al Hosn also has discrete stripes (in white and gold no less) running along its sides, disrupted only by a small image inspired by the building’s famous watchtower.

Move to the interior of the Phantom Coupe and a similar color treatment can be found in the car’s cabin. This time, it’s the Arctic White finish that’s prominently used in covering up a majority of the interior’s surface. Gold and the same Arabian Blue color of the coupe’s body are also used in the cabin, albeit only in certain places as added trim or stitching. The last bit of important detail is the Starlight Headliner, which Rolls-Royce Bespoke uses to great effect here when combined with a blue surface that acts as the sky.

Of the seven one-off models that Rolls-Royce Bespoke created for the Wisdom Collection, the Phantom Coupe Inspired by Qasr-Al Hosn joins the Wraith Inspired by Sheikh Zayed Bridge as the two creations that have the most similarities. Both use shades of blue and white significantly in the exterior and interior of the two cars they’re representing. The only difference in the treatment is that the Phantom Coupe Inspired by Qasr-Al Hosn uses gold as a third color whereas the Wraith Inspired by Sheikh Zayed Bridge uses silver in the place of the gold. And if we’re going to be really meticulous about it, the exterior treatment on this particular Phantom Coupe does bear a lot of its own similarities with the Rolls-Royce Wraith Nautical Edition that Rolls-Royce Bespoke created last year.

In any event, power for the Phantom Coupe comes in the form of a 6.75-liter V-12 engine that packs a potent 453 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque, enough to give the two-door luxury ride the acceleration to cover 0 to 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 150 mph.
