Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke personalization program has given us a lot of interesting creations over the years. The expansion of the British automaker’s lineup has provided RRB with even more opportunities to make some creative special edition models, but for a time, Rolls-Royce Bespoke was limited to just the Phantom, the Ghost, and all the other iterations of both models. One such iteration, the Phantom Drophead Coupe, has gone through the hands of Rolls-Royce Bespoke, which created beauties like the Olympic Editions, Art Deco Special Edition, and most recently, the “inspired by Desert Rose” Edition.

Officially, this model is called the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Inspired by Desert Rose. It makes up one of seven models that Rolls-Royce Abu Dhabi commissioned Rolls-Royce Bespoke to make to celebrate the automaker’s presence in the Middle Eastern country. The whole lot of one-off, Rolls-Royce models is referred to as the Wisdom Collection. In addition to the Desert Rose, Rolls-Royce also created the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Edition, the Qasr Al-Hosn Edition, and the Ancient Trade Routes Edition. The Desert Rose Edition takes the cake though for being the cleanest looking of all seven models. The treatment it received works incredibly well on a car like the Phantom Drophead Coupe, blending supreme Rolls-Royce class and luxury with the mesmerizing tranquility of the unique flower.

What makes the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe inspired by Desert Rose so special?

The origins behind the “Desert Rose” treatment on the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe is rooted on the Adenium flower that’s native to Africa and the Arabian peninsula. The flowers themselves are more popularly known as “desert roses” and are noted for their prolific blooming and flowering under the right conditions. They’re also known for not needing too much water to bloom, which in turn makes them sought-after among households with gardens in it.

The flower’s ties to Abu Dhabi made it a unique addition to Rolls-Royce’s Wisdom Collection, and as far as the car itself goes, there’s something uniquely transformative about seeing a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe get this kind of treatment from Rolls-Royce Bespoke. The White and Deep Wine Red exterior color of the two-door convertible is both relaxing and captivating to the eyes. The polished finish on the red shade is evocative on its own, even if it doesn’t take too much away from the clean white body of the Rolls. The thin red stripe running the length of car’s sides is also a nice touch, brought to life by the inclusion of a small desert rose graphic image just in front of the front doors. It’s often the little things that count with Rolls-Royce Bespoke and this desert rose logo is a good microcosm on Rolls-Royce’s talented pool of designers can showcase a car’s one-off status with just one small image.

Step inside this one-off Phantom Drophead Coupe and the focus on Mother Nature pops out even more with the dominating presence of the lacquered wood panels in the front. Rolls-Royce Bespoke made good use of the material, using it on the entire length of the dash. Gold trim strips also run from one end to the other, ending on the lower glovebox with another image of the desert rose adds another layer of personalized touch to the interior. In the back, the sofa-style rear seat is itself a picture of luxury with white leather covering it. The red stitching, the red leather surrounds, and the soft purple shade on the seat belts provide the contrast.

Like all models that make up the Wisdom Collection, the Desert Rose doesn’t get any power enhancements. Still, it packs a 6.75-liter V-12 engine that produces 453 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque, enough to propel it from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds before peaking at a top speed of 150 mph. It may not be the fastest and most powerful car on the block, but with its gorgeous good looks and overall exclusivity, it doesn’t need to be faster and more powerful to stand out.
