The watch and the motorcycle industries have always worked in close quarters to bring out extraordinary products that beam with the precision and penchant for performance and style. It is the same case with the collaboration between Indian Motorcycle Company and Baume & Mercier.

This collaboration had made possible for the generation of two exclusive lines of fine watches called the Clifton Club Indian Legends. The two respective series are Clifton Club Scout and Clifton Club Chief. There is a lurking specialty in both these lines as they are just 1,901 limited pieces symbolizing the year Indian Motorcycle Company was founded (1901).

The two companies and their collaboration speak volumes about the quality and elegance of both the timepieces we talking about here. The extraction of inherent traits from the Indian Motorcycle Company by Baume & Mercier team is a job well done.

The team lead by Baume & Mercier’s Design Director Alexandre Peraldi, worked in great tandem with Indian’s Industrial Design (ID) team based in Minnesota, USA to create what is now the legendary Clifton Club series.

The iconic Indian Scout inspires Clifton club Scout and the iconic Indian Chief inspires Clifton club chief. These two series of chronograph watches rejoice precision, heritage, impeccable style and craftsmanship, sheer elegance and untainted motorcycling spirit beyond all.

Talking about the craftsmanship of these beauties, Baume & Mercier have used satin-finished stainless steel case to house the 44mm dial with ADLC detailing. They both have a 48-hour power reserve by the self-winding caliber that resembles the Valjoux7750 movement. The Clifton Club Legends operate at a frequency of 28800 vph.

Coming to the aesthetics and design of the watches, we find the most important number 1901 etched on the date disc and The Indian logo engraved on the screw. Also, the recognizable ‘ I ‘ on the counterweight handle. All the marks on the watch case are coated with green emission Superluminova. Both the watches have the chronograph function and the distinctive V-twin engine as their face design that represents the bike family they come from.

The absolute difference between the two series is their straps. Clifton Club chief is a stainless steel bracelet, and the Clifton Club Scout is a leather strap by the renowned Horween Leather Company. So, the watches cater to both the triple folding clasped polished steel bracelet and the classic rich toned leather straps.

The watches are on sale from Baume & Mercier stockists and are expected to retail at €3,500 ($4,200) for the Clifton Club Scout and €3,700 ($4,500) for the Clifton Club Chief respectively. So hurry up and pre-order your timepiece now to be delivered in April 2018.
