The 74th annual Daytona Beach Bike Week->ke2162 kicked off Friday, March 6th, and things got started with a bang! The Geico AMA EnduroCross Championship->ke2105 opened its 2015 season in a first-ever appearance during bike week. As if to make sure that none of the dirt-racing enthusiasts were wanting, the Daytona Supercross followed on Saturday. Harley riders had an event at Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona, and Harley-Davidson->ke300 set up a huge display of the 2015 models at the International Speedway. “Sons of Anarchy” fans were treated to a visit from Kim “Tig Trager” Coates on Saturday and Sunday. I know, some people love “Sons,” some people hate 'em and some love 'em but will never admit it! You are free to speculate as to which category I fall into. On the subject of clubs; HOG will be hosting a rally at the Speedway. We are still in the early stages of the “Week,” and are sure to see plenty more cool events as it progresses.

Why it matters

Because it's Daytona! And, it has a special place in my heart as it was my first big bike event back in 1995 while I was attending MMI in Orlando. I can still vividly remember walking around and taking it all in, wishing all the while that I had more time and money to spend there. Speaking of money, if you are there, be sure to visit the H-D Wounded Warrior Project tent to help support our troops. Then, swing by the Speedway and check out the H-D museum featuring Willie G's 1983 FXDG Disc Glide Prototype.
