The Redd Bull crew loaded up a bunch of motor homes and trailers to head into the Southern California desert for the third running of the only freeriding competition on natural terrain. The Redd Bull Ride to the Hills competition takes things back to the roots of freestyle motocross, as the riders take to the hills without any ramps, track crews or spectator bleachers, and try to put down the best freestyle runs. In 2004, the first Ride to the Hills competition took place in Jackpot Ranch, California and it was won by Parsons. In 2005, Dustin Miller walked away the camp. In 2006, a whole new format was implemented in which the riders will break into three groups and spend a day scouting out lines in the chosen terrain. Once lines are selected, all the riders will ride each of the lines chosen by the three groups. Afterwards, the rider will view video of the riding to determine the winner. The overall winner is determined by a combination of results in two distinctly different riding areas/terrains. The event
will take place from October 22 to October 27 in southern California.
