Looking at what customers were making out of their products in the last decade, manufacturers have forayed into satisfying the current wave of enthusiasts wanting custom and classic motorbikes. Factory Customization was born.

Adding itself to this latest trend is our very own darling Indian Motorcycles. Indian teams up with Hot Bike magazine for “The Wrench: Scout Bobber Build Off” contest that will begin March 15th, 2018. They are calling in for participants to submit their creations digitally of which three top designs will be awarded with a new 2018 Scout Bobber to customize along with $10,000 for the build.

That is not all, the winners will get a full paid trip to Minneapolis for an unveiling party of their customized Scout Bobbers at Sturgis in July where a panel of judges and the public will choose a winner that gets ultimately crowned with the Wrench and will get to take home a $10,000 cash prize. That build will also be featured on the Hot Bike Magazine.

The Indian Scout owes its existence to the purists and enthusiasts who started building one from their Scouts. So the folks at Indian decided to capture the American way of the ‘30s and built this brutally beautiful factory custom bobber. Now, the same people are asking non-pro builders to do the same.

This build competition is totally unique since it requires visionaries and not professional builders. “This competition is not open to pros. It’s only for those who build for the passion, not the paycheck. “ The undiscovered builders and enthusiasts will have first to submit a digital rendered sketch of their designs along with a 500-word write-up explaining the intricate details of their build and why they should be selected as a finalist in The Wrench - Scout Bobber Build-Off.

To help your build reach the top, Indian also encourages the participants to submit prior build photos, videos, and references who can “reinforce their talent and justify their skills”. All applications should come before March 30th, 2018. The Contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 states of the United States and the District of Columbia and Canada, and the participants have to be above the age of 19.

The builds submitted will then showcased online where the public will get an opportunity to weigh in their votes. The creations will also be scrutinized by a panel of highly acclaimed names in the custom motorcycling business like Roland Sands, Jason Paul Michaels, Jordan Mastagni and Satya Kraus.
