On December 6th, Indian Motorcycles->ke3292 filed a report with the NHTSA on a possible problem with the fuel-injection system that can lead to a fuel leak. This is a problem with roots as far back as 2013, and it affects a staggering 23,746 bikes, total. The affected bikes include the Roadmaster along with the Chief Classic/Dark Horse, Chieftain, Chief Dark Horse and even the new Springfield with build dates between April 15th, 2013 and July 15, 2016.

The problem seems to be that the fuel rail can contact other components which can cause the rail to leak. Needless to say, this poses a significant fire hazard and fire is bad, m'kay, so this should be addressed sooner rather than later. The campaign is already underway as NHTSA Number 16V877000, and dealerships will install a bracket that will prevent the motion in the fuel rail that causes the contact.
