This week, Indian's Wrecking Crew -- the team that dominated Flat Track Racing this season in its first appearance in 63 years -- is making its debut at the X Games. A legend in his own right, veteran road racer Larry Pegram will join Bryan Smith, Jared Mees and Brad Baker, to pilot the Indian Scout FTR750 at this premier action sports event in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 13. Looking to take the podium from Harley-Davidson after last season's sweep, the guys from Indian are ready to race.

What's The Buzz?

It’s been an incredible season thus far, vastly exceeded our expectations, and having the opportunity to compete in the X Games in front of our hometown is truly special,” said Reid Wilson, Indian Motorcycle Marketing Director. “In addition to being our first time at X Games, this will be the first time we have four Indian Scout FTR750 race bikes in the field, with renowned road racer Larry Pegram joining the Wrecking Crew for this event.

Eager to pilot the awesome Scout FTR750 -- now available to the public as a limited edition sans racing upgrades -- Pegram contacted Indian when invited to the X Games for the second consecutive season. The 43-year-old renowned racer will wear Indian-branded leathers and pit alongside Mees during the event.

When invited to participate in the X Games Flat Track Race, one of the first calls I made was to Indian Motorcycle to inquire about an Indian Scout FTR750,” said Pegram. “There’s no doubt the Indian Scout FTR750 is one of the hottest stories within all of motorsports, let alone the flat track community. As both a veteran rider and long-time fan of flat track racing, it’s been exciting to watch Indian Motorcycle Racing’s return, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to ride alongside the new Wrecking Crew.

And that is no joke. The Wrecking Crew is squashing all-comers as it plows through the American Flat Track season. Indian is the only manufacturer to have a rider on the podium in each of ten Grand National events this season, including four podium sweeps. It's no surprise that Pegram wanted to get a leg over the Scout FTR750.

For the third consecutive year, Flat Tracking Racing will be a part of the X Games Moto X division as a medaled event. In 2016, the X Games were held in Austin, Texas where Jared Mees took the gold as part of the Harley-Davidson podium sweep. He returns this year on the Indian team looking to unseat Harley on that podium, and this year's performances are a good indicator that it very well might happen.
