Would you like to see your wheels locking while you hit the brakes? Because I don’t! This is where ABS or anti-lock braking system enters the scene. This system is known to prevent wheels from locking while braking and we all know it does the job. But not all motor vehicles have ABS although they should and that is why Harley-Davidson introduced this system on all 2008 Touring models and V-rod models. The purpose of this is to allow the driver to maintain steering control under heavy braking and, in some situations, to shorten braking distances by allowing the driver to hit the brake fully without the fear of skidding or lose control. The use of Brembo brakes with all the latest in braking technology will improve consistent braking and stopping power under all operating conditions.

Unlike other ABS, the ABS system provided by Delphi Corporation is almost invisible and being manual and independent it means the rider maintains full, independent control of how much of each brake is applied.

Designed to help the rider maintain steering control during hard braking (especially in slippery conditions), ABS system is here to keep us in the seats and that is what Harley wants for us.
