There’s probably only a handful of bikes in this world that Guy Martin hasn’t ridden it at some point in his life. The renowned rider who made a name for himself riding at the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Race recently found himself in the company of probably the one bike he has yet to get his hands on: the Britten V1000.

The Britten V1000 is arguably one of the rarest handbuilt race motorcycles in the world. It first arrived in the early 1990s when John Britten designed and built the first V1000. The bike itself was a real driving pleasure, but it was also a rocket on two wheels. During its time, the V1000 won the Battle of the Twins in Daytona while also setting a handful of world speed records. Only 10 V1000s were produced by the Britten Motorcycle Company and you’d be hard pressed to find one that isn’t sitting in a collector’s garage or a museum somewhere.

For some reason, though, Martin found himself the opportunity to ride John Britten’s masterpiece, almost 25 years after the bikes first caught the world’s attention. Not surprisingly, Martin was oozing with praise after riding the V1000, as surely you would be if you were afforded the same chance.

Unfortunately, none of us have the cache that Martin has so any chance of us riding the V1000 is equivalent to a pipe dream at best. So this is the best we can do here. Check out the video and see how Martin spent his time with arguably one of the most sophisticated and technically advanced motorcycles in the world, even if said bike was built back in the 90s.
