Featuring a sporty but ergonomic design, the Kawasaki Z1000SX City is one of the most practical bikes in its class. The bike comes with a long list of useful storage places which offer a total volume of 39 liters.
Among them there is the high quality alloy topcase bracket accompanied by the shock-absorbing double baseplate. The bike also offers a relatively upright riding position which is comfortable for both short and long trips.
The stopping power is assured by the front, 300 mm petal brake discs gripped by opposed 4-piston radial-mount calipers with a diameter of 30 mm. Radial-pump front brake master cylinder further contributes to the control and feel offered by the calipers.
At the heart of the bike lies the fuel injected, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke In-Line Four, 1.043 cc engine which churns out 138 hp at 9,600 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 7,800 rpm.

Overview
City style and practicality on one easy package. Add a stylish and practical top case to the already adaptable Z1000SX and you have the ideal combination, traffic beating performance and practical storage convenience.
Top case 39L
39 litre capacity will fit most helmets. Includes base plate. With cover to match motorcycle colour.
Adjustable Windscreen
Windscreen has three available positions spanning approximately 20˚ and ranging from sporty to maximum wind protection. Adjustment can be done by hand (no tools required) by depressing the release button below the instrument panel. (Windscreen adjustment should be done with the bike stopped.)
Large-volume Fuel Tank
19 litre fuel tank offers a substantial touring range. Dynamic fuel tank design with tall upper surface features supersport-style flared edges with a trim shape at the rear, a shape that is easy to grip with the knees.
Cool Air System
With the airbox nestled between the frame beams, intake air can be affected by engine heat. The Cool Air system routes cool air to the airbox from ducts at the front of the side fairings, minimising performance loss due to heated intake air. This should not be confused with Ram Air, where force-fed air becomes pressurised in the airbox.
Horizontal Back-link Rear Suspension
Rear suspension positions the shock unit and linkage above the swingarm. The rear shock features rebound and preload adjustability. A cam-style preload adjuster facilitates making adjustments to suit 2-up riding or luggage.
Instrumentation
Sporty instrument panel features a large analogue tachometer and multi-function LCD screen. The design is based on that of the Ninja ZX-6R, but features original font and colouring. Functions include: speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, odometer, clock, dual trip meters, and warning lamps.
Inverted Front Fork
41 mm inverted front fork features stepless compression and rebound damping and spring preload adjustability. Settings offer both sporty performance (contributing to light handling on the street and in the hills) and comfort.
Exciting Engine
Liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve 1,043 cm3 In-line Four offers impressive power (101.5 kW (138 PS)) and strong torque.
Exhaust System
The exhaust system features a 4-into-2-pre-chamber-into-2 layout. Silencer end-caps create a quad-style image.
Relaxed Riding Position
Relatively upright position (compared to supersport models) offers both control and comfort. (Rider triangle is essentially the same as that of the Z1000, with grips moved about 10 mm inward.)
Front brake
At the front, 300 mm petal brake discs are gripped by opposed 4-piston radial-mount calipers. Caliper piston size is 30 mm. Radial-pump front brake master cylinder also contributes to the superb control and feel offered by the calipers.
LED taillight
LED taillight design features red LED bulbs and a red transparent lens.
