2016 Ski-Doo Summit X with T3 Package Features and Benefits:
T3 Package
The T3 adds even more capability to Summit X and SP models with:
- PowderMax 3 in. (7.6 cm) track with FlexEdge technology and weight-saving design
- 174 in (442 cm) track length choice – the longest ever offered by a manufacturer, and
- Dropped and rolled chaincase with machined cover and gears to reduce weight
- Revised suspension geometry
- Pilot DS 3 skis with deeper keel and industry-exclusive tip extension
3-In Lug Powdermax Track With Flexedge
3-in (7.6 cm) track lugs, the tallest ever offered by a sled manufacturer, dramatically increase traction. Exclusive 16-in (41-cm) wide design adds flotation and traction without sacrificing maneuverability. FlexEdge technology reduces the length of the fiberglass reinforcing rods to only 12 in (31 cm) wide, which allows the outside of the track to bend, further reducing boondocking and sidehilling effort.
Flexedge Track
By shortening the fiberglass reinforcing rods inside, the track’s edges flex when you carve the sled, making boondocking and sidehilling easier. It provides the flotation of a 16-in. (41 cm) wide track with the maneuverability of a 12-in. (30 cm) track.
tMotion Rear Suspension
The tMotion flexes laterally, reducing the effort to initiate a roll, due to a ball joint at the center hinge between the rear arm and drop link and split flat-tube front arms. Very progressive motion ratio makes the ride on trails even more comfortable.
RAS 2 Front Suspension
Ski-Doo further sharpen the industry’s best handling snowmobiles. New geometry and lighter components increase precision, especially in extreme bumps. Sharp new styling, too. Reduces weight by 1.76 lb (0.8 kg).
Pilot DS 3 Skis
Designed to work in tandem with the deeper and longer T3 tracks. It has a .47 in (12mm) deeper keel. Holds a sidehill better and offers great control. Narrow ski tip cuts through crusty shallow snow; wide easy-to-install extension widens the tip for added flotation in deeper powder.
REV-XM Body Style
Summit-specific side panels are powderdynamically designed to glide smoothly through snow in any position, easing roll-up and sidehilling.
REV-XM Running Boards
Massive, strategically shaped openings keep the boards clear. A tall extruded edge adds stiffness and has aggressive boot grips.
Glove Box
Keep your important items within easy reach in this new 1 gal/4 L glove box. Warmed by the engine compartment, it’s a great place for spare gloves or goggles.
Rotax 800R E-TEC Engine
This revolutionary direct-injection two-stroke allows monster power, yet smooth, linear and manageable.
And thanks to proven E-TEC technology, it has virtually no smoke or smell – especially at start and idle – and starts on the first pull, every time.
The best-selling 800cc engine in snowmobiling*.

Quotes
“The 2016 Summit enjoys an expansion of the T3 package to all Summit X models as well as a Summit SP with T3. To make Ski-Doo popular with snowboarders, there is a Summit Burton package based on the Summit SP 154, which can effectively replace the chairlift or get you places beyond the lifts. For 2016 there will be five Summit models, that includes a Spring Only buy of Summit X with premium shocks, Pilot DS3 skis, the T3 package and choice of PowderMax with FlexEdge track in three lengths – 154, 163 0r 174. The Summit SP with T3 is an in-season model and offers FlexEdge traction with tMotion suspension. The base Summit SP comes with 2.5-inch track lugs and tMotion suspension and high-pressure gas shocks. The Summit Sport offers a value option for powder hounds that is based on the REV-XP chassis but features FlexEdge traction and narrow ski stance. Rounding out the Summit choices is the Summit Burton.” ----- Snowmobile“Last spring, Ski-Doo made a big splash by introducing longer, more aggressive and full-featured T3 package Summits. For 2016, the T3 benefits move deeper into the Summit lineup for all-season availability. Also, a new Summit Burton model is aimed at attracting more skiers and snowboarders, while Freeride models get a new color and a new front end.For next winter, all Summit X models plus the new Summit SP 800R E-TEC with T3 will come with a PowderMax FlexEdge track hosting huge 3-inch lugs – whether in 154-, 163- or 174-inch lengths. The T3 combo also gets those buyers the 7-tooth drive sprocket, Pilot DS 3 skis, RAS 2 front suspension geometry, standard ice scratchers and weight saving in various locations, including the chaincase.” ----- SnowGoer
