Triumph has taken the wraps off its 2014 Bonneville and we bring you the first official photos and details. The 2014 model year comes with cast wheels paired with Nissin brakes, KYB suspensions and multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection.

This iconic Modern Classic continues to keep its special, vintage flair and is powered by the same 865cc parallel-twin, engine that delivers 68ps at 7500 rpm and is kept in leash by a five speed transmission with wet, multi-plate clutch. The engine is fed by a relatively big 16 liter fuel tank that ensures a pretty good riding range.

The motorcycle’s backbone is represented by a classically styled tubular steel frame which sits on KYB 41mm Forks and rear chromed spring twin shocks with adjustable preload.

The 2014 Bonneville is available in three versions with the base model being offered in Phantom Black, Lunar Silver or Crystal White/Sapphire Blue with a price tag of $10,302.

Verdict

The Triumph Bonneville is a pretty basic motorcycle, but despite its modest personality it still has a lot to love. The bike is certainly not a speed demon, but its 68 hp engine has a generous, flat torque curve that delivers surprising punch from as low as 2,500 rpm.

The engine is pretty smooth to and its vibration is well controlled given its parallel twin configuration. On road, the motorcycle feels lighter than you might expect and its low and agile stance helps you maneuver it without too much fuss.

In the end, with a base price of $10,302, the 2014 Triumph Bonneville is a lot of motorcycle for a reasonable price.
