The Japanese driver Sakon Yamamoto will race for the Spyker F1 team in the remaining races of the season. Yamamoto,used to race last year for the Super Aguri team and now he plans to take the vacant seat left at the Dutch team after Christijan Albers after some contractual difficulties.

Sakon is 25 years old and currently drives in the GP2 Series for the BCN.He is also a test driver for Super Aguri team.

Yamamoto is waited to sign the contract with Spyker today and the deal is expected to be officially confirmed by Spyker in a press conference tomorrow.

Yamamoto finished the season strongly with three consecutive finishes, an upturn in form after retiring from his first four Grands Prix. He also set the seventh fastest lap during the 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix. However, this was not enough to prevent him from losing in front of Anthony Davidson in the race for the second Super Aguri race drive in 2007.
