2022 Rolls Royce Ghost
The 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost is the second-generation model of the company’s full-size four-door sedan. An upcoming vehicle that’s still in the testing phase, the 2022 Ghost will replace a first-generation model that’s 11 years old as of 2020.
Just like its predecessor, the 2022 Ghost will slot under the Phantom sedan and above the Wraith grand tourer. The second-generation Ghost will be heavily based on the current Phantom, which was introduced in 2017 with extensive updates. The sedan will retain the boxy silhouette of its predecessor and will feature a detuned version of the Phantom’s 6.75-liter V-12. 2022 BMW 3 Series Electric
The BMW 3 Series is arguably Bimmer’s most popular model, and it’s about to go electric. The all-electric 3 Series is one of the 25 electric and electrified models that BMW has in the pipeline, and while most of those models will probably end up being electric crossovers and SUVs, the 3 Series EV is arguably the most intriguing, in part because it’s shaped as a sedan and has big shoes to fill.
Recent spy shots of a heavily camouflaged 3 Series sporting “Electric Test Vehicle” stickers recently made their way into the Interwebs, providing us with all we need to know that the car under all the swirly bits is nothing else but the electric 3 Series. There’s no set timetable on when the electric 3 Series will hit the market, but with testing ongoing, it wouldn’t be surprising to see BMW debut the model this year ahead of a possible launch in 2021.
2022 Fisker Ocean
Back in March 2019, Henrik Fisker, the CEO of Fisker Inc., announced that the company is planning to build an affordable electric four-wheel-drive SUV with a range of 300 miles. But no one really took him seriously given his propensity to overcommit and under-deliver.
Make no mistake; Fisker has produced some of the most beautiful-looking vehicles to date, but the company never really hit it off. This time, however, Fisker has lived up to its word and revealed its first electric SUV at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show. Called the Fisker Ocean, the SUV looks to be a wholesome package and has enough to take on some of the fiercest competitors in the market. But will the Ocean see the light of the day?
2022 Genesis GV70
The Genesis GV80 is the first SUV to wear the “Genesis” nameplate, but it won’t remain by itself for very long. Its smaller sibling, the GV70, is already scheduled to arrive in 2021, giving Hyundai’s upstart luxury brand a Development of the GV70 is ongoing, which explains the batch of spy photos we received from our eagle-eyed spy photographers. The SUV is still largely covered in camouflage wraps, but there are telling signs that the GV70 will share a lot of things with its big brother, not to mention its sedan counterpart, the G70.
2022 BMW iX2
The BMW X2 is barely two years old as a model and it’s already headed down the path of electrification. A prototype version of Bimmer’s relatively new compact crossover has been spotted in the snowy abode of Sweden, and while it’s easy to assume that said model is the plug-in hybrid variant of the X2, the truth is that it’s not.
This crossover is the test mule of the iX2, the all-electric version of the X2 crossover that will be launched sometime in 2021 or 2022. The spy photos captured the iX2 prototype sans any camouflage and that’s not by accident. Visually, it’s still the X2 but that little sticker that says “electric test vehicle” confirms that, other than a few design changes, this prototype is an all-electric crossover hiding in the X2’s clothing.
2022 Mercedes EQ B
Mercedes’ lineup of electric crossovers and SUVs continues to take shape with a fresh batch of spy photos of a model that looks a lot like the Mercedes GLB-Class. Except this isn’t the GLB; this is the GLB’s all-electric alter ego, the EQ B. The spy photos were taken in Sweden where the EQ B is undergoing winter testing. Mercedes hasn’t divulged the juicy details of the EQ B, but it is believed that, among other things, it will largely take the form of the GLB, albeit with a few minor tweaks to reflect is all-electric stature. No timetable has been given on when the Mercedes EQ B will launch, but we do know that the all-electric crossover will not hit the U.S. market until 2021.
2021 Jaguar F-Type Coupe(updated)
The Jaguar F-Type is, arguably, one of the best-looking sports cars on the market today and one could even go so far as to say it’s one of the best lookers of the decade. While this might be true, it has also been on the market since 2013, and we all know that it’s due to be replaced in 2020. We’ve finally seen the first prototype of the 2021 Jaguar F-Type being tested, and we have to admit that there’s going to be some serious changes taking place. Expect a similar silhouette with an all-new face and rear end. There’s also a certain rumor about the V-8 engine that you don’t want to miss out on, so be sure to check out our drivetrain section to learn more about that.

2022 Gemballa Supercar
Whenever a company announces plans to build a supercar, be it Dyson, Hennessey Performance, Rimac, Zenvo, or in this case, Gemballa, eyebrows are bound to be raised. Embarking on the journey of building a supercar from scratch, regardless of how much experience one such company may possess is, if you will, the ultimate marathon in the car industry. At the same time, running a marathon can have three possible outcomes: you either finish it, you don’t, or best-case scenario, you end up winning it, of course. Wanting to build, or better said, create a supercar from a blank sheet of paper is pretty much the same. But Gemballa thinks it has what it takes.
The European Union Wants to Fit Cars with Electronic Nannies that Won’t Allow Drivers to Exceed the Speed Limit
It looks like Volvo knew something when it announced that all its new cars would be limited to 180 km/h or 112 mph by 2020 because it seems all cars are going to be forced to obey the speed limit in the near future. At least that’s the plan announced by the European Union after it reached a provisional agreement to mandate that automakers fit their cars with speed limiters that won’t allow the driver to go over the speed limite when the situation would require it.
Ford is reportedly working on a replacement model for the Courier pickup sold in Brazil, and there’s a good chance this new model could make it to North America. Unlike the Courier, which is positively tiny by American pickup standards because it is based on the Fiesta city car (and also it went out of production in 2013 and never got a direct replacement), this new Ranchero would use the slightly largerFocus platform.
This means it’d grow in length quite considerably and also move from a single cab design to a crew cab. If it makes it to the States, it would probably get a name change as well, so instead of Courier, it will probably be called Ranchero, recalling an older model name. The old Ranchero was built between 1957 and 1979 as a unibody, car-based pickup. It was Ford’s answer to the Chevy El Camino.
So, it would be quite natural for Ford to use the Ranchero name for this newly proposed pickup, although nothing has been officially confirmed yet (or denied, for that matter). What’s clear is that this new Ranchero could be here by 2022, when it will share the showroom floor with the likes of the new Ranger, Bronco, and maybe a boxy-looking Focus platform-based crossover (aka “baby Bronco”).
2022 Bugatti SUV
Ever since it was brought back to life in the late 1980s, Bugatti has offered only one vehicle at the time. And between the EB110 and the Veyron, there was a 10-year hiatus when the French built only concept cars. This strategy will end soon, as Bugatti finally seems ready to add a second vehicle to its current portfolio, in the form of a luxury, performance-oriented SUV.
Rumors about Bugatti planning to add a second vehicle to the lineup have been flying around ever since the company unveiled the 16C Galibier concept in 2009. For many years, it was believed the Bugatti would finally build a sedan, mostly because the French have developed no fewer than three four-door concept cars since the early 1990s. However, while Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann thinks that a modern version of the Royale limousine would be popular, an SUV makes more sense financially. With that in mind, we rendered what the upcoming Bugatti SUV might look like and gathered all the information we know so far into a speculative review.
2022 Lexus LFA Successor
Lexus was seen this week testing a modified LFA with the Nurburgring package right at the fabled German circuit, and it got us intrigued. It’s been six years since the last LFA rolled off the production line, so could Lexus prepare for a replacement despite claims they aren’t looking at this possibility?
The original LFA, launched after much lament and almost a whole decade in the works, back in 2010 is a sort of a flawed genius. Originally criticized for its lumpy gearbox and somewhat underpowered V-10 engine, it ultimately grew on and won over some of its most fierce critics due to its special charisma. It was a refined supercar with build quality that rivaled and maybe surpassed that of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and with an engine that sounded as good as any Italian thoroughbred.
Now, six years on, we know from a couple of years ago that the message that was conveyed by the LFA has endured and that Lexus might not be looking at building a replacement for it in the next few years. But what if they are? Yoshihiro Sawa hinted during his visit this year at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed that “a pure F GT car, which could be a hybrid with an electric motor and a strong engine” is on the cards. What if he’s not only referring to an LC F but to something more?

2022 Tesla Model S
The Model S is far and away Tesla’s most popular vehicle, known for singlehandedly shifting public opinion of EVs from dowdy, boring people-movers, to sexy, high-tech performance machines. This is the model that set the stage for all of Tesla’s other offerings, including the top-shelf Model X SUV, and more recently, the affordable Model 3 compact four-door. However, the Model S was first introduced in 2012, which means it’s starting to get a little long in the tooth, and a second-gen for the full-/mid-size luxury sedan should be headed down the line in the next few years. As such, we put on our speculation hats and got down to reasoning out what the next Model S might bring to the table.

2022 Alfa Romeo 8C
The Alfa Romeo 8c is returning after an eight-year absence, and it’s going to look and perform a lot differently than its limited-run predecessor. Early plans inside Alfa Romeo indicate that the new 8C is being packaged as a 700-horsepower supercar that will be able to compete against the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini. There’s no timetable yet on when the new 8C will arrive, but it should make its way into our lives before 2022, at least if it ends up happening.
