2015 Can-Am Commander MAX XT Features and Benefits:
Hitting the trail, going hunting or just taking in nature, there’s a Rotax® engine that will get you and your passengers to where you want to go. Choose from the 71-hp Rotax® 800R or the 82-hp Rotax® 1000 liquid-cooled V-Twin engine to match your off-road adventure.
Liquid-cooled, 8-valve Rotax 976cc V-twin pumps out a class-leading 85 horsepower, yet is refined thanks to EFI and iTC. The liquid-cooled, single overhead cam power plant features 4 valves per cylinder, fed by a 54-mm Bosch‡ throttle body and 2 sophisticated VDO Siemens‡ fuel injectors.
Better Throttle Control
This electronic throttle-by-wire system works in conjunction with the 2.13 in. Bosch∞ throttle body to produce smooth delivery, even if the driver’s foot is bouncing due to rough terrain. The iTC system detects unwanted bounces and filters the input. Comes with a progressive and sport mode.

This package provides a more powerful magneto with 625 W of power output.

Eliminates Scrub and Camber Changes
The only independent rear suspension that eliminates scrub and camber changes, meaning the wheels pivot up and down rather than in a butterfly motion. This ensures the vehicle moves only in the direction you point it. Reconfigured for improved traction and optimal transfer of power to the ground.
Better Steering Feel
The Can-Am Commander’s Double A-arm front suspension is designed with dive-control geometry that works to eliminate diving under heavy breaking and rough terrain. The front end features 10 in of travel and five-way preload-adjustable motion-control shocks.
Superior Stopping Power
Outboard disc brakes with 214-mm discs and twin-piston calipers. Large 214-mm outboard hydraulic disc brakes feature twin-piston calipers to provide superb stopping power.
The electronically controlled power steering provides the driver with three different levels of assistance when steering. The amount of assistance varies with the vehicle’s speed to adjust the steering input effort to a comfortable level. Features Visco-Lok QE for a faster engagement point.
All DPS-equipped models have Visco-Lok† QE, which has all the features and benefits of the standard quick-engagement Visco-Lok† differential, but with an even quicker engagement point. This differential, unlike some competitors’ differentials, does not have a speed limiter.
Lightweight Tires and Wheels
The lightweight radial tires offer a smoother ride, predictable cornering and optimum climbing confidence. Installed on redesigned cast aluminum wheels featuring a strong lightweight construction.
Start with a powerful 4,000-lb, factory-installed winch and a heavy-duty front bumper. Add the convenience of strategically placed passenger handgrips, accessible controls, and cockpit storage, and you’re ready to hit the trails or get to work.
Comfort For Four
The four-person Commander MAX gives you ample seating to accommodate your passengers, thanks to its 105.3-in. (267.3 cm) wheelbase - 29.5 in. (75 cm) longer than the two-seater Commander. It also includes individual handholds for all passengers. No shared grab bars here.
The industry’s most versatile and usable cargo box design has a 600-lb cargo capacity, dual storage levels, anti-rust box, and tilt-assist dumping. Cargo box with two levels separated by a removable, water-resistant panel, that offers an upper and lower bed with their independent tailgate.
No Tools Required
Premium seating with a full backrest, lumbar and shoulder support, and side bolsters for lateral support during aggressive riding. Tilt steering and an adjustable driver’s seat are easily adaptable to a range of drivers and driving styles. No tools required.
Heavy-duty front bumper for a beefier look and functionality. Rugged bed rails are included in the package. Bed rails installed on the Dual-level™ cargo box add more tie-down points for cargo carrying. Plus, mudguards create an extra layer of protection for the occupants
Can-Am chose a premium WARN winch kit for the ultimate performance and durability. Includes a roller fairlead, wired remote control and integrated winch remote storage.
Upgraded gauge features state-of-the-art instrumentation, with an analog tachometer and speedometer combined with an advanced digital information center. Plus, the three-spoke steering wheel is outfitted with molded grips and a brushed aluminum centerpiece to add to the high-performance style.
