You might expect a 80-year-old to have a Volvo in his garage. Volvos are the septuagenarians of the car world: long-lasting, unadventurous and often found at garden centres or National Trust properties.
But Paul Newman is no ordinary 80-year-old. And his Volvo is no ordinary Volvo. It has a Cosworth race-bred V8 engine dropped into it. "It’s a funny Volvo," he admits. "It’s an old 950, last of the rear-wheel drive estate chassis. It is hotted-up a little bit."
The engine (...)

"If they’re shooting a person, they’re shooting the car at that (...)

And, ultimately, “3” turned out to be correct. Today we know that this model marked the beginning of the most successful BMW model series of all times.

You’re famous, fabulously wealthy and governor of California. What do you drive? The Hummer, which comes in the huge H1 model or the smaller, trendier H2 developed a cult following when Schwarzenegger convinced then-manufacturer AM General to sell a consumer model back in 1992. In December 1999, AM General sold the rights to the Hummer (...)

To give you an idea as to what Hot Import Nights is, the shows start at around 5pm on Saturday, and run until just past midnight. Once through the insanely long line with security screening, everyone piled into the convention center that was turned into one large, car-packed rave. If you’ve never been to a Hot Import Nights show, the best way to describe it is it’s like The Fast and the Furious, only all the cars are stationary. The whole idea with the show is to reinforce the credo, "If it looks fast, it is." As such, HIN shows draw more Hondas and Acura then Euros.
With the loud music thumping and the lasers shooting across the stage, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the HIN atmosphere.
Hot Import Nights : Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Convention Center set the stage for the season opener of the 2005 Hot Import Nights event series. With more than 7 years of experience HIN has set the standard for running a premier event featuring tuner cars, models, music, and the night club style atmosphere to create this ultimate experience.

The BMW X3 enters its third year of production flush with success. In its first year, the X3 sold almost as well as the larger X5, doubling BMW’s impact on the SUV market, and there’s little sign of the trend toward smaller, more fuel-efficient SUVs cooling off any time soon.
While the X5 has injected the sport-utility segment with much needed on-road athleticism, it’s the X3 that really delivers the goods in terms of handling prowess. Perfect weight distribution (50 percent over the front wheels and 50 percent over the rear) and a center of gravity that’s low for an SUV combine with a sophisticated four-wheel independent suspension to produce tenacious cornering abilities (again, for an SUV).

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to buy a hybrid car, you’ll have to walk through dealer showrooms in the dark about what tax breaks to expect.
