Josh has always had a love affair with cars. This mostly started as a kid playing video games like Need for Speed Underground and going to the occasional car show with his father and grandfather in Columbus, Ohio. Once he got to college he realized he loved writing and decided to change his major from Business Management to Emerging Media focusing in Journalism.
Now Josh is a senior at Capital University in Bexley, Ohio, and has just joined the team at Top Speed as an intern.
New Electric MG4 Aims To Take Down Volkswagen ID. 3, Nissan Leaf
The sheer number of automotive nameplates that have come and gone looking to change the game somehow is nothing short of staggering. However, the number of car manufacturers that have all but died and then come back to life are much smaller. A perfect example of how to do this at least somewhat successfully is MG, they have just announced their new EV, the MG4, and it has the Volkswagen ID. 3 and Nissan Leaf set squarely in its sights. As with any rising automaker, the logical and financially smart idea is to begin producing an electric crossover, which is exactly what MG is doing with the MG4.
Leaked Memo Says GR Corolla Will Arrive At Dealers Sooner Than We Thought
As a result of an internal memo from Toyota getting leaked onto the GR Corolla Forum, we now know that the GR Corolla will be hitting showrooms in America in October of this year. This lines up with Toyota’s statement from back in March that the base Core level GR Corolla would go on sale in late 2022. However, it is unclear if this means all trims of the GR Corolla will be on sale or just the base Core trim as the leaked memo does not specify either way.
Taiwanese Supercar Tuner Zacoe Just Released Package For The Ferrari F8 Tributo
Supercar tuning companies have produced some truly wild creations over the years. The RUF Yellowbird was one of the first examples to make waves around the world when the iconic video of the modified Porsche 911 drifting its way around the Nurburgringwas released. Ever since, supercar tuners have sprung up all over the place, trying to squeeze even more performance from some of the most dynamically capable cars on Earth.
Drako Motors Announces 2,000 HP Gullwing-Door EV Called The Dragon
The Rise of electric cars and the advancements in technology needed to make EVs so popular have resulted in multiple success stories that make us think that perhaps building an EV from the ground up is not all that difficult. When that argument comes up companies like Tesla and Rivian come to mind. However, we have also seen several monumental failures, such as Faraday and Fisker, that remind us just how cut-throat the automotive industry can be.
Red Bull Teases RB17 Hypercar With Over 1,100 horsepower.
The automotive industry has given us a smorgasbord of legendary hypercars, whether they have more of an emphasis on looks and style or setting world records around a race track. Even the rise of EVs and the fall of gasoline has not curbed the world’s desire for wild, over-the-top automobiles. Red Bull, however, thinks the world needs one more hypercar and is planning to give it to us. Meet the Red Bull Advanced Technologies (or RBAT) RB17.
Full Interior Swap: Is this a Chevy C8 Camaro or an F-Body C8 Corvette?
Everyone loves a good engine swap. They are an endless source of amusement online and can breathe new life into a car. Even the most straightforward examples where you simply take an old engine out and put a new identical one in its place can make the car drive like it’s fresh out of the factory. Then there are the craziest ones, like dropping a Hellcat engine into a Prius or a Corvette powerplant into a Tesla. Plus, with the rise of the incredibly sophisticated SEMA-style builds, we occasionally see complete overhauls of cars from the ground up. This 3rd-gen Camaro may not win awards at SEMA since it is just an amalgamation of factory GM parts, but it certainly attracts attention. In terms of the engine swap, all we know is that out is the old 5.0-liter V-8 that originally lived under the hood, and in its place is an LS V-8 of some kind. Great, but in the grand scheme of things, not all that wild. The interior, on the other hand, is something of a different nature.
McLaren is Joining Formula E with Help From an Unlikely Collaboration
Formula E has been making massive waves in the world of motorsport ever since the series had its first race in 2014. Some are debating over whether or not the series will properly begin to take on Formula 1 both in terms of ratings, popularity, and sheer entertainment. Before any of that happens though, teams will evolve and a perfect example of that is Nissan providing motors for the upcoming McLaren Formula E team. McLaren will be joining the racing series for the ninth season which is set to kick off in early 2023.
We Bet You’ve Never Seen a Supercar Garage Like This
When you picture your dream garage, what does it look like? Probably rows of classics worth more than the building they live in or several of the finest Italian supercars that originated on a bedroom wall poster. Also, not just the cars, but everything else inside. Lovely automotive-themed art, perhaps a retro gas pump, and a light-up car logo the size of a dining room table like the ones in Jay Leno’s garage would probably all be thrown in there as well.
With 2,000 Horsepower, Is this Custom Ford E-Transit "Electric SuperVan" Still Boring?
The automotive world is full of wild and out-of-this-world creations. Pretty much everyone loves them, from the incredibly fast and capable examples like the Bugatti Chiron to the GR Yaris which we are still struggling to believe Toyota even made in the first place. But possibly the most outlandish is the Ford Transit Supervan, and now, after nearly 30 years, there’s a new one.
Mercedes wants This New AMG GLE to be a Future Classic
Everyone loves an anniversary - they are a special time to remember where you came from. Car manufacturers especially love anniversaries because it gives them a chance to tell potential customers how long they’ve been on the block. 2022 happens to be the 55th anniversary of AMG, so Mercedes decided we needed another version of the GLE. SUVs and specifically crossovers have been a booming market for years now and every manufacturer is cashing in. The latest example of this from Mercedes AMG is the limited "Edition 55" version of the AMG GLE 53 and GLE 63 S Coupe.
The Impreza 22B Gets A New Lease On Life Thanks To Prodrive
Subaru has a long and storied history when it comes to small, affordable, and fun cars. The boy racers inside all of us have a soft spot for the iconic Impreza RS, WRX, and STI. It just so happens that, at least back in the day, a lot of development for those Imprezas was done through motorsport, specifically off-road rallying.
$7.4 Million Ultra-Rare Pagani Huayra Looks like a 1950’s Interpretation of the 2030’s
Pagani has achieved an almost mythic reputation in the automotive industry as it produces some of the most outlandish, quickest, and highly customizable cars in the world. However, they have only produced two models, the Zonda and the Huayra, although there have been numerous rare and specialized versions of each model. The latest ultra-exclusive model is possibly the most visually modified Pagani ever, the Codalunga. Only five units will be made and each has been sold for nearly $7.4 Million.
In case you were wondering what that hard-to-pronounce Italian word is, Cadalunga means ’longtail’ in Italian. While you would not guess by looking at it, the Cadalunga is essentially a Huayra underneath the wildly changed body.
New Mercedes AMG C-Class Hauls Around the Nürburgring...Quietly
A Mercedes AMG C-Class without a V-8 would have been considered unthinkable ten years ago. Back then, the 6.2-liter V-8, which had one of the best exhaust soundtracks since the turn of the century, was dropped in nearly every AMG model in production. This meant that the German car industry was awash with glorious rumbles, snorts, growls, and bellows from Merc’s handcrafted naturally aspirated V-8. Then, by 2016 the current-generation C-Class was in full production with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 that was more efficient and powerful than the old 6.2 but lacked some noise and character.
Ferrari Has Just Shown Off Their EV and Hybrid Plans For The Next 4 years.
As we know, the internal combustion engine is a dying breed. The world is warming and countries all over the world passing legislation to outright ban the sale of new ICE cars. So, within the next 20 years, something has to change at a company that has had the internal combustion engine as one of its main selling points for decades. Ferrari has had many questions thrown at it in regards to the future of the company in recent years as the fabled Italian V-8s and V-12s will soon be falling out of favor. On June 16, 2022, at the Capital Markets Day presentation, Ferrari detailed their business plan for the next four years regarding their EVs, the Purosangue SUV, and other future models the company will be releasing.
Ferrari’s Electrification Plans: Go Big or Go home
It is official; electric cars are here on everyone’s minds, and they are not going anywhere unless advancements are made in hydrogen, but that is not looking like it will happen anytime soon. The final sign of this fact is going to arrive on June 16 as Ferrari will give us all the nitty-gritty details of their step into the electric supercar and super-SUV market in a press briefing. The short story, however, is that Ferrari recently bought up land near their fabled Maranello factory with the plans to build a third production facility to focus on electric motors, EV batteries, and the development of future hybrid models.
Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport "Grand Prix" Edition Goes Live At Monaco
Bugatti is one of the most famous names in the automotive world. The beautiful Type 31 and successful Type 50 are some of the most expensive cars on the planet. Then there was a bit of a gap and the EB110 SuperSport debuted to be one of the fastest cars on Earth. Nearly a decade later the Veyron was the fastest car on Earth, now the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is the fastest car in the world. Now, there is a new version of the Chiron, known as the Chiron Pur Sport Grand Prix edition.
The AMG one and GT 63 S Share More DNA Than You Think
The Mercedes AMG Project One was first unveiled about four years ago and has been in development at least to some degree ever since. We knew it would take a while to get the 1,000 horsepower 1.6-liter turbo hybrid V-6 Formula 1 powertrain to play well on the road, but it has been a long wait. However, with the development stage being replaced with the production stage we are starting to see just how much of the Project One is being carried over to more conventional models.
Wiesmann May be Looking to Trade Unique Sports Cars for Electric SUVs
Ever since the early 2000s, there has been a market for modern cars that visually and audibly resemble and have the same flare as sports cars from yesteryear. Old British sports cars were at the heart of this as they were always a joy to drive, but were notoriously unreliable and a pain to live with daily. In fact, the whole point of the original Mazda Miata was to capture the magic of the lightweight British sports car without the constant overheating and oil leaks.
It’s Starting to Sound Like BMW M and ALPINA Are Going to Clash
For nearly six decades ALPINA has been an independent company building modified BMWs. They were usually similar to the in-house M models with more power and occasionally different suspension and handling setups. However, the ALPINAs were designed with a more luxurious attitude, forgoing all-out power and speed. Now, with BMW officially bringing Alpina under its roof, the ultimate driving machine may be taking more and more steps towards luxury and customer customization.
Ford’s EV Lineup Will be Radically Different
Ford CEO Jim Farley says the future EVs from the blue oval will not simply be electrified versions of current models. This means that the brand’s lineup will grow considerably, and it has even been said that fans of current models might not like the future electric models.
This Porsche 911 RS America May Have Travelled the World More than You
Classic Porsches have always been a hot commodity among car enthusiasts, rarer and high-performance models have seen their prices nearly double, if not more, in recent years. This is partly thanks to Magnus Walker, the Porsche tycoon, and social media extraordinaire with a collection including literalyl dozens of Porsches.
Even without any direct connection to Walker, old Porsches fetch wild sums at auction, and another extremely unique 911 has just popped up for sale on Bring a Trailer, with plenty of money being thrown at it.
Chevy Won’t Build A Silverado Competitor to the Ford F-150 Raptor Because It’s Too Hard
Ford has offered a High-performance Raptor variant of the F-150 pickup truck to one degree or another since 2010. However, Chevrolet, or General Motors as a whole for that matter, has never had a direct rival to the Raptor. But why? General Motors has had the goal of beating Ford towards the top of its priority list since the 1960s. It is the whole reason the Camaro even exists in the first place. The main reason behind the lack of a high-performance Silverado, however, comes down to a simple business claim.
How Gordon Murray Will Take on Mainstream Automakers Like Volkswagen
There are not many new cars in the world today that can give a truly raw and authentic driving experience similar to that of a proper race car while also being drivable on the street on a daily basis. However, that was the intent of GMA-Gordon Murray Automotive. The T.50 comes with only a 6-speed manual gearbox, a naturally aspirated V-12 with a rev limiter over 10,000 RPM, and a driver’s seat set right in the middle of the car.
The T.33, while it still carries the same attitude and has an extremely similar V-12 and gearbox, it is a bit cheaper and more conventional. Now though, this bastion of V-12s and stick shifts is looking to develop something a bit different - a pair of electric SUVs.
Manhart RS3 500 - Pushing the Audi RS3 to the Performance Limit
It seems like the internal combustion engine is breathing its last dying breath. The rise of electric cars and the massive question mark on top of hydrogen fuel cells leave gasoline down on one knee. V-10s are all but gone, as are V-12s, and the beloved but quirky straight-5 is only placed in one new car on the market: the Audi RS3. However, the loony Germans at MANHART are giving the classic Audi five-cylinder a new brain so it can create some more oomph.
The Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition Has Some Serious Bespoke Performance Add-Ons
Toyota made waves in September 2020 when the GR Yaris went into production. It was the first true homologation hot hatch we had seen in decades, but Americans thought there was just one problem with it-we weren’t getting it. So, to appease us and make even more money, Toyota crammed the four-wheel-drive, the gearbox, engine, brakes, and everything else they could take from a GR Yaris into a Corolla Hatchback.
As a result, the GR Corolla now exists, and while it only matters to those in the U.S., it is doubtlessly a good car nonetheless. Now though, Toyota is making the GR Corolla even more extreme with the MORIZO edition. Only 200 examples will be produced, and all of them have real performance-enhancing modifications installed and are for the 2023 model year.
This Lamborghini-Powered 1995 Audi S6 Is the Most Ridiculous Thing You’ll Ever See
If you have the know-how and the tools, modifying a german car can bring a truly special creation to life. However, even with the necessary skills and tools, completing any major modifications, such as an engine swap, will still give you a headache for hours on end. A man named Joel Francisco has completed just that. In short, he swapped the 5.2-liter V-10 engine from a C6 (2006-2011 model year) Audi S6 into a 1995 Audi S6 wagon. Judging from the YouTube video, it seems to be as crazy as one would imagine it is, as it can spin all four wheels on a launch.
An EV Price War Could Bring Major Trouble for Tesla and the Electric Car Market
One of the main problems with Electric cars is that they are incredibly expensive to buy up front. Sometimes the sticker price can be up to $14,000-$15,000 more than their gasoline-powered cousin. However, the gap in price between these two kinds of automobiles is closing, and Ford’s CEO, Jim Farley, thinks it will eventually come to a head.
Alfa Romeo Aims to Lose the Elitist Status That’s Plagued it for Years
Times are changing at Alfa Romeo. It is adopting EV tech and starting to ditch their classic sedans for compact SUVs, although nearly every other manufacturer is doing the same nowadays. The most significant change in the company is coming straight from the man in charge, Jean-Philippe Imperato, who said, "My quality benchmark is Lexus," in an interview with Automotive news.
The 2022 Mercedes C-Class Steps Outside of the Affordable Zone
The Mercedes C-Class used to be the more budget-minded Mercedes, it was smaller, slower, and cheaper than the other Mercs but pretty much was able to uphold the Mercedes mantra. However, with the new generation hitting dealerships in the spring of 2022, Mercedes has just released the pricing and equipment details of the new base C300 C-Class, and it’s not quite as affordable as it used to be.
You can make a cheap Porsche look insanely expensive with this body kit.
Custom car body kits from brands like Liberty Walk and RWB are notoriously expensive, and that doesn’t take into account the fact that they are only for supercars and classic Porsches, which cost as much as proper supercars. Now though, there is an alternative.
Honda Teases Us with the New Civic Type R Once Again
Even with COVID-19 and the digital world looking to wipe live, brick-and-mortar auto shows from existence, Japan is giving these ancient relics at least one last shot. The Tokyo Auto Salon has produced several interesting cars in 2022, although most will never see the light of day ever again. Honda, however, showed off the new Civic Type R in the flesh, albeit covered in camouflage. The Japanese marque also released a new teaser video to get even more hype for the hottest of hatchbacks.
The Infiniti QX50 has Been Updated for 2022, but is it Enough?
Nissan and its subsidiary Infiniti have been feeling the heat from a lack of sales and general interest the world over. Both have been trying to re-vamp their respective ranges by adding new packages and more standard equipment, but we have yet to see those pay off yet. Now, a small update for the QX50 aims to draw in more attention, but is it enough?
The F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix made the rest of the 2021 season seem dull.

The CX-9, Mazda’s largest SUV, has just received new pricing, packages, and a new trim level for the 2022 model year.
The Audi TT RS Says Goodbye to the U.S. Market
When the Audi TT was released in America in the early 2000s, the styling and design were unlike anything we had seen before. It had a body that managed to be both futuristic and retro at the same time, not to mention it was one of the first examples of a manufacturer using headlights and taillights, not just as a necessity, but as a design feature.
Manhart lets Mercedes’ C63 AMG V-8 wagon go out with a bang
With the demise of the internal combustion engine seemingly getting closer and closer, car tuners have been having a field day making fast, dead-dinosaur-burning cars even faster. Mercedes has even confirmed that the next generation of AMGs will be powered by a four-cylinder married to an electric motor to create a hybrid system. In an AMG. Anyway, German tuning company Manhart is the latest group of geniuses to take an already unnecessarily powerful car and make it even more powerful.

Do the Updates to the 2022 Nissan Altima Make it Relevant Again
Nissan has been on a role of dropping tons of new cars and updating old ones. Whether it be a brand new electric crossover, or updating one of their most popular models, Nissan seems desperate to kick the sour after taste of the recent fiasco with the old CEO, Carlos Ghosn. The most recent example of this is the several changes the Japanese company has made to its mid-size sedan, the Altima.

Supercar Tuner Novitec Begins Work on Ferrari Roma
Ferrari is known for many things, their incredible brand image, not winning a Formula 1 championship in nearly 13 years despite practically inventing the sport, selling comically over-priced luggage and keychains, and of course, producing some of the best supercars on Earth. However, the German tuner NOVITEC has just released their upgrade kits for the Ferrari Roma, and it should make the best-looking Ferrari currently on sale go even better than its looks.
The Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid is WAY More Expensive Than You Think
The Subaru Crosstrek is one of the very few crossover SUVs with some real clout. The combination of affordability, off-road capability, and a slick 6-speed manual gearbox is what gives it what cool factor it has. Now, Subaru has updated the pricing on the Crosstrek, which is arguably beloved by hipsters more than any other new car around the country. Here is the breakdown of the 2022 Crosstrek trim levels and pricing.

Acura’s Upcoming MDX Type S Comes at a Very Steep Cost
The MDX has always been a solid yet unpopular option in the booming SUV market ever since it launched. Even though it is decent to look at, decent to drive, and more than competitive with its rivals from Lexus and the Germans. So, is making a sporty version going to change anything, and is it diluting the Type S name? Acura just gave us some extra details on exclusive features, release times, and more on the new MDX Type S, and it’s time that we find out.

Ferrari Recalls Over 5,600 Cars For A Very Scary Reason
A car that can break the 200-mph barrier uses some pretty beefy bits and pieces to make that speed a reality. However, the equipment needed to bring you back to a standstill, most notably the brakes, is just as integral as the other parts. So imagine you are driving your 200+ mph Italian supercar when you press the brake pedal and nothing happens. That is a possibility, we are finding out, in the Ferrari 458 and 488 models made between September 26, 2009, and August 28, 2019.

Those electric vehicles are the Model C, Model E, and the ambitiously named Model T.
Porsche’s 3D-Printed Seats Are Now Available, But There Are Some Stipulations
Porshe has been obsessed with innovation, or needlessly reinventing the wheel, depending on how you look at it for decades. From stubbornly making the engine work in the back of the car to making an electric sedan that weighs well over two tons handle like a dream. As a result of this meticulousness, Porsche produces some of the greatest sports cars in the world. Building off this, the German sports car manufacturer is back at it again with their 3D-printed bucket seats.
The Kia Forte Could be Gunning For the Honda Civic SI in 2022
For years, Kia and Hyundai were known to make economy cars that were not interesting to look at or drive. However, that all changed when they hired Alec Biermann, the now-former head of BMW’s M division, and the man behind some of the greatest cars in the BMW’s history. Because of this, cars like the Kia Forte, for example, have become great talking points. For the 2022 model year, the Kia Forte arrives with a facelifted exterior, new tech throughout the interior, and a whole new range of trim levels: FE, LXS, GT-line, and at the top is the GT.

A New Investment in Pagani Could Lead the Manufacturer Into New Territory
A Saudi Arabian Investment company now owns a significant portion of Pagani, and this could be a bigger deal than you think. So far, Pagani’s have been a product of Horacio’s imagination. However, there are now two ways forward for the company and its cars. It could use the extra dough to make its cars that much more insane, possibly with some Middle Eastern flare, or it could be the production of a corporate culture that kills the very soul of Pagani to please shareholders.
Ford Eluminator is a 281 horsepower electric crate motor
The idea behind crate engines and engine swaps for a long time has been quite simple: put a more powerful engine where a less powerful engine used to be. It may be complicated for a novice mechanic, but for the experienced, it is a rather simple job.
However, with multiple companies releasing electric crate motors, could this change how we think about engine swaps?
