The Ferretti Group, known for building some of the most luxurious motor yachts in the world, has announced the debut of the Riva 76, which will take place at the Cannes Yacht Festival in September 2015, proving yet again that when it comes to debuting its yachts, the company knows how to make a splash.
Pun notwithstanding, the company also confirmed that construction of its latest motor yacht is currently underway at its facility in La Spezia, Italy. Multiple reports have come out on what the Riva 76 is going to look like, and there seems to be growing positive sentiment among boat connoisseurs regarding the Ferretti Group’s latest masterpiece.
CEO Alberto Galassi describes it as an evolutionary model that links the “inheritance of the past” with state-of-the-art technology.”
The Riva 76 will prominently feature a Moon Grey hull with splashes of styling cues derived from some of the company’s most prolific models, including the iconic Riva Mythos. Like any yacht worth its proverbial sea salt, the Riva 76 will also have a list of luxury amenities, including a full-beam master suite, a 10-foot tender garage, and two more cabins with their own en-suite. Keeping with this mega luxurious theme, the yacht’s interior finishing will also be handled by the likes of Armani Casa and Port Saint Lauren.
Last but not least is the engine, which in this case will be a pair of MAN V-12s that are capable of generating 1,550 horsepower to go with a top speed of around 37 knots.
The yacht is shaping up to be a show-stopper in every sense of the word. If you want to look at the Ferretti Group’s long and esteemed track record of building high-quality luxury yachts, the Riva 76 is unlikely to disappoint.

Why it matters
Ask CEO Alberto Galassi about his expectations for the Riva 76 and like any supportive chief executive, he’ll tell you about the excitement bubbling within the company with the impending debut of its latest masterpiece.
The Ferretti Group actually has good reason to be excited. The Riva 76 is on the verge of following its predecessors as one of the company’s newest crown jewels.
I haven’t ridden many luxury yachts in my life, but judging from the ones that I’ve managed to sneak into - don’t ask - I’ve developed an appreciation for the amount of work companies put into these maritime vessels to make them stand out from the competition.
The Ferretti Group knows that time is of the essence for the company to properly showcase the Riva 76 as the next big thing in motor yachts. That’s a big reason why it’s designated a significant part of its engineering and technological manpower to help in the development of the yacht in time for its public debut at the Cannes Yacht Festival on September 8, 2015.
