  • Year:

The new 43 ft. & 3 in. hull of the Targa 44 has been exclusively designed to accommodate the new Volvo Penta IPS 500 inboard system. This new hull design was necessary to embrace the Volvo Penta’s revolutionary IPS (Inboard Performance System) with its unique forward-facing propeller units. The IPS system promises 15 per cent faster acceleration, 20 per cent greater top speed and 30 per cent better fuel economy. Close quarter handling is also improved with the IPS drive. With the twin Volvo Penta IPS500 D6-370 EVC diesels, top speed is quoted as 34 knots.

There are two engine options for the Fairline Targa 44: the twin 370 hp each Volvo Penta IPS500 D6-370 EVC Diesel and the twin 435 hp each Volvo Penta IPS600 D6-435 EVC Diesel.

Fairline tried a brand new deep-V hull, specifically designed by naval architect Bernard Olesinski, for the 2007 Targa 44 available in three colors including the new ‘sand’ option. This hull is designed to make the most of the system and the result is a level of performance and handling unparalleled in a boat of this size. At the back of the boat is a teak laid bathing platform that allows easy access to the sea, with PWC or tender handling and quay access carried out by the passerelle.

Throughout the boat, which features yet again, a stunning new Targa 44 interior there is highly crafted joinery in genuine American white oak with a satin finish, or customers can opt for lacquered American cherry or eucalyptus.

The thoughtful creation of the Targa 44 includes design elements such as the provision of a day-access toilet facility to ensure guest and owner accommodation is not disturbed, as well as an LCD TV and CD changer/radio with speakers that extend to every level of the boat.

Covering the deck saloon, the Targa 44 features a hardtop roof, making her the smallest Targa with Fairline’s upgraded Gran Turismo roof, which incorporates LED mood lighting, glazed feature panels with blinds and cockpit speakers. Just by pressing a switch owners can turn the cockpit into an elegant saloon, or an area suitable for al fresco dining and sunbathing, with a seating area that easily converts into a bathing platform.

All the facilities the discerning Fairline owner could require are at hand on the Targa 44, which features a fantastic cockpit bar complete with sink, hot and cold water, an optional icemaker, fridge, griddle and separate refrigerated cool box. Below deck she benefits from a comprehensive galley complete with a ceramic hob, combination oven/microwave, refrigerator, a superbly crafted dining table with seating for six and stunning panoramic hull windows that are a remarkable feature of the boat.

Forward to this is the master cabin that offers luxurious sleeping quarters for owners, complete with an oversized double bed and en-suite facilities. Guests benefit from similar luxury with a stunning aft cabin that has two single beds that convert effortlessly to a full sized double bed along with private en-suite facilities.

Targa 44

The Fairline Targa 44 handles perfectly, mostly thanks to the joystick control that improves maneuverability, allowing the boat to move forward, backwards and diagonally at the twitch of a finger, making berthing a breeze. The performance and handling of this boat are unparalleled with the boats of this size.

Clever detailing and elegant design, the build quality is impeccable; handcrafted cabinetry, stunning décor, the highest quality television and audio systems, atmospheric lighting, sumptuous cabins and beautifully equipped galleys are just some of the attractions of the Fairline Targa 44. The other ones is up to you to find them out.
