Founded by Giorgetto Giugiaro in 1968 in Turin, Italy, Italdesign is a creative powerhouse with a long history of beautiful creations. Standouts include a variety of notable performance machines like the Maserati MC12, the BMW M1, and the Lotus Esprit, but the house also has several more commonplace vehicles to its name, such as the Audi Q2 and VW Golf, plus oddities like the DeLorean DMC-12. Italdesign’s latest creation is the Zerouno Coupe, which we first saw at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, and later again at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Limited at just five units total, Italdesign managed to move all five examples of this high-dollar (that is, seven-figure) supercar in just a matter of months, a testament to its unique styling and performance potential (not to mention the insanely hot modern supercar market). Now, it appears as though Italdesign is prepping a new drop-top iteration, as revealed by a single shadowy teaser image. Once again, the Italians will showcase their latest wares at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show, and they’re saving the details for the big sheet drop. However, before they blow the roof off the coupe in Switzerland, we’ve got the details on it right here. That’s right – we fully expect the Roadster iteration to mirror much of what you get in the coupe, so we put together the following speculative review to whet your appetite. Expect V-10 power, a top speed over 200 mph, lots of carbon fiber, and more wings than an air show.
