2012 Abarth 695 "Fuori Serie"

2012 Abarth 695 "Fuori Serie"

The 2012 Paris Auto Show is still two weeks away, but we have already got information on almost every model that will be displayed at the show. For example, Abarth has announced the launch of a new customization program that will offer clients the opportunity to customize their car down to the smallest detail. The new "Fuori Serie" was inspired by the cars that have written the brand’s history, going from the Fiat 750 Record and 124 Sanremo all the way up to the X19 prototype. All of these cars have one thing in common: they are all record-breaking cars.

The 695 "Fuori Serie" to be displayed in Paris features a very cool "Olio Fiat" livery which appeared first on the Fiat 124 Abarth Rally at the 1976 Montecarlo Rally. Under the hood, Fiat has placed the 1.4 16v Turbo T-Jet which will deliver an impressive 180 HP. Each customer will have the possibility to choose between a range of colors and materials that are not offered in the standard product range. These will range from carbon fiber to sports fabrics, from leather to Alcantara, and from glossy to matte liveries.

2011 Abarth 500C Esseesse

2011 Abarth 500C Esseesse

In 2008, Abarth released their Abarth 500 package, and a few months later, they followed it with theEsseesse package at the Paris Auto Show. It seems the blueprints were laid out at that point because Abarth just unveiled their 500C, which is the company’s first convertible, and are planning to unveil the Esseesse package for the convertible at the same auto show at the end of this month. The package includes perforated, ventilated front disc brakes (diameter 284 mm x 22 mm), perforated rear disc brakes (diameter 240 mm x 11 mm), high performance front brake pads, front and rear Koni shock absorbers with FSD valve, specific red springs set lower than those on the original car, and Abarth esseesse 7” x 17” ET35 alloy wheels painted white or titanium, combined with 205/40 ZR17 tires.

Under the hood there is a 1.4 16v Turbo T-Jet engine that delivers a maximum of 160 HP and 230 NM of torque. Of course, due to the added weight of the convertible, the 500C completes the 0-60 mph sprint in 7.6 seconds which is 0.2 seconds slower than the 500. Top speed also takes a small hit at 130mph compared to the 131mph top speed of the 500. It’s a small price to pay for a convertible though, and one that was to be expected.

The package is finished by four sensors to record correct tire pressure, a special “powered by BMC” air filter and Esseesse badges for the engine cover and tailgate.

500 Abarth "essesse"

500 Abarth "essesse"

Abarth will unveil at the Paris Auto Show the "esseesse" kit for the 500 Abarth, only few months after the standard car was launched. Next to it the company will also unveil the Assetto Corse Abarth.

The 500 "esseesse" kit’s display area is characterized by those elements of the Scorpion philosophy that have made it so unique and popular worldwide: the tough spirit, speed, and an innate desire to win. Compared to previous shows, nothing has changed as far as the brand’s distinctive identity is concerned: the colour red, a great passion for cars, the red and white chequered flag used to signal the end of endurance races (the competitions in which Abarth has notched up its greatest achievements), and the yellow and red shield with the black scorpion, representing the stinging zodiac sign of this mechanical genius.

The beautiful polished white floor only adds to the dynamic look of the stand, while the materials and finishes almost fade into the background in order to show off the car and the kits – the real protagonists of the stand.

Most probably, like in the Grande Punto Abarth "esseesse" case we will see almost twice the power of the basic Fiat model.
