Launched only three years ago, Cupra impressed the world with its dynamic and elegant designs. The Formentor VZ5 was launched as a celebration of its third anniversary, and it is also one of the most impressive models offered by Cupra. The Formentor is actually the first model developed from the ground up, but for the VZ5 version, the engine was borrowed from Audi. There will be only 7,000 examples built, so you can say that the Formentor VZ5 is quite a unique car. But, does it need to be updated? Well, ABT sure thinks so!

What changes is ABT offering?

From the factory, the Formentor VZ5 is offered with the same engine as the Audi SQ3 - a 2.5-liter, turbo five-cylinder engine that delivers 390 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is done in 4.2 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 155 mph. These are, of course, impressive figures for a compact SUV, but there is always room for more improvement, no?

With the use of its special ABT Power S program - an update specially designed for the five-cylinder engines, the Formentor VZ5 now delivers a total of 450 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.

The sprint from 0 to 62 mph is now done in 3.9 seconds, while the speed limiter was removed, so the VZ5 can now hit a top speed of 168 mph.

Since the exterior of the Formentor VZ5 looks pretty amazing from the factory, ABT limited its updates under the hood. However, the tuner is offering its customers the possibility to choose from a wide range of wheels, in various designs and colors. For example, there is a new set of 20-inch wheels in Sport GR design, offered in either matte black or glossy black. Or, a new set of 21-inch Sport HR wheels, in multi-spoke design and painted glossy black.
