The Geneva Motor Show is ready to crack itself open in just a few hours, but AC Schnitzer->ke312 has decided to release some details on its line-up for Switzerland a little early.

The first package from the German tuner is called the Z4 99d and uses a diesel engine that delivers 190 HP and 420 NM of torque. With this amount of power, plus a weight reduction of 230 kilos (507 lbs.), the tuner has managed to obtain a 0 to 60 mph sprint time of just 6.9 seconds, while top speed is 146 mph. This performance is accompanied by a fuel consumption of 3.8 liter diesel per 100 kilometers and a CO2 emission of just 99.18 g/km.

AC Schnitzer also spent some time on the exterior of the BMW Z4 with an interesting paint job. We don't know just how we feel about the green, blue, and black swirl paint yet, but it may just fit the BMW->ke178 nicely.

UPDATE 02/28/2011: This review has been updated with the BMW Z4 99d's full specs, as well as new images.

Exterior and Interior

For the exterior package, AC Schnitzer has opted for new lightweight composite materials such as carbon, magnesium, and titanium. The package includes a carbon front spoiler, an anodized matt silver front grille, carbon sports fenders, new bonnet vents, a 2-piece rear spoiler, carbon rear skirt insert, carbon roof, and carbon boot lid.

The AC Schnitzer 99d sits on AC Schnitzer Type VIII lightweight 19" forged BiColor rims wrapped around 225/35 ZR 19 tires. These lightweight wheels, along with the AC Schnitzer lightweight 4-pot high performance brake system, reduces the BMW's total weight by 35kg (77lbs).

The interior received some attention as well with a new sports steering wheel, painted interior panels, carbon racing seats with the 99d logo, and aluminum foot rest and pedals.

Engine

The engine for the 99d by AC Schnitzer was borrowed from the Z4 320d EfficientDynamics Edition and after an AC Schnitzer upgrade, it now delivers a total of 190 HP and 420 Nm torque (up from a standard of 163 HP) and emits only 99g/km CO2. The emission for the 99d is less than any standard BMW vehicle available at this time. The 99d delivers a 0 to 60 mph sprint time of just 6.9 seconds, while top speed is 146 mph.

Prices

AC Schnitzer hasn't released any details as far as pricing is concerned, so if you are interested, you'd be better off giving them a call. We imagine the complete package will knock out a few thousand from your bank account.

Competition

Since its official launch back in 2009, the BMW Z4 has seen plenty of interesting tuning packages. AC Schnitzer itself has developed other tuning packages for the Z4, with one of them improving the engine's output to a total of 360 HP and attaining a top speed of 177 MPH.

One of the most impressive packages for the Z4 was offered by Hamann. Their package delivers a total of 360 HP at 5230 rpm and a peak torque of 540 NM available in the engine speed range of 1300 to 5000 rpm. Also, as with the previous AC Schnitzer kit, the top speed was raised to 177 mph.
