The MDX is a handsome SUV but the Type S gets unique exterior treatments which make it more attractive. The first thing you will notice is the wide lower grille and side vents. The LED headlamps remain the same as the standard MDX.
The rear has a working diffuser and real quad-exhaust tips. The rest of the design remains very similar to the standard MDX.
Brembo brakes come standard with the Type S models. There are four-piston calipers at the front and two-piston ones at the rear.
The MDX Type S can be optioned with the Advance package which will unlock certain high-end features such as heated steering wheel, heated second row seats, massage functions for the front row, and many more.
Powering the Type S is a 3.00-liter turbocharged V-6 which belts out 355 hp and 354 lb-ft. A tuned 10-speed torque converter and the SH-AWD comes on-board with all the Type S models.
The EPA rated the MDX Type S with 17/21/19 for city/highway/combined.
The interior of the Type S is luxurious and has all the features you would desire to enhance comfort on the go. A leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, a 12.3-inch MID, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, wood and leather trim, everything feels well built.
A panoramic sunroof comes standard with all MDXs and the Type S is no alien.
As standard, a 16-speaker ELS premium audio unit comes with the Type S. If you want a better experience, the 25-speaker unit might help you. it supports surround sound system too.
As a seven-seater the MDX Type S is quite practical for everyday usage. While the first and the second row has enough space for adults, the third row seats would be perfect for children or teenagers.
