I Configured the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio NRing Edition and Saved 9 Grand
Alfa Romeo is celebrating its incredible Nurburgring heritage with the all-new 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio NRing Edition. Creating a car that pays homage to the most fantastic track in the world isn’t anything new in the car world, but Alfa Romeo probably has more reasons for it than anyone else. Not only did it win the 1935 Grand Prix at the ’Ring in front of the Third Reich officers, but the racing cars based on the 1960’s Giulia sedan, and its numerous versions dominated the Nurburgring track winning 12 times in the ’60s. Thanks to such incredible results, Alfa Romeo revealed the 2019 Giulia Qaudrifoglio NRing Edition - an extremely limited version of the Giulia Quadrifoglio available in the U.S. and Canada.
With subtle and somewhat lackluster additions, the NRing Edition manages to capture the magic of the most famous racetrack in the world in an effort to create an Alfa Romeo myth for the upcoming generations. This is how you make a brand.
2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Nring Edition
Named after two of the most extraordinary stretches of paved surface, the Stelvio QV NRing may present the only vehicle named after a mountain pass and a race track. One would expect to see the incredible supercar hidden behind this name, but the Stelvio QV is an SUV. A mad one at that, and even madder as the super-exclusive NRing Edition. Revealed alongside the aesthetically stunning Giulia QV NRing Edition, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio shares its unique ability to evoke Alfa Romeo Nurburgring achievements not many can match. However strange it may sound, the Alfa Romeo was cool at the Nurburgring before anyone could be cool there. This SUV celebrates that achievement.
What Do We Know About The New Alfa Romeo 8C?
It would seem that the most important goals for any manufacturer today are continuity and clarity. If you do cheap cars, do only them. If you do sports cars, focus only on them. If you are premium, adapt to what the people think is premium and push.
Alfa Romeo had a problem with its mission, vision, and continuity. Since the Eighties, it seems to have shifted its vision two or three times basically confusing buyers when it comes to what the brand truly represents. Now, it is eager to find its footing with what it should have done all along - sports character, upscale styling, and premium nature.
At a press conference held earlier this year Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Maserati and Alfa Romeo said: “We know our future depends on staying true to our sports car roots. We have learned that when we stay true to Alfa DNA, we can stand out in any segment.”
Thankfully, the brand seems to have found what it wants to be the best at. To communicate this noble vision to the automotive lunatics and solidify brand recognition, Alfa Romeo has to do some extraordinary things. Having the Giulia Quadrifoglio and the Stelvio Quadrifoglio was only a start. Now, the company needs to go further, and that further comes in the shape of the 8C.
Recently, the late Sergio Marchionne hinted at the new 8C only months before his death. Moreover, the plan FCA displayed in June clearly showcases a planned super sports car called the 8C, and it will appear in the next three or four years.
The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider came in 2016 to pair the nimbleness and spunkiness of the 4C Coupe with the benefit of unlimited headroom. Of course, it didn’t come with its flaws, which included a weight gain of some 130 pounds thanks to structure changes required to keep the car structurally sound. It got its own look around back and even came complete with an elevated, carbon fiber roll bar behind the seats. It’s powered by a 1.75-liter four-cylinder that’s good for 240 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque – enough to get it to 60 mph in less than five seconds on the way to a top speed of 130 mph. Those are the fastest figures in the world, but they are fast enough for a car this size. Back in May, we told you about Alfa Romeo building six special-edition 2013 Giulietta sedans to commemorate Alfa’s staring role in the Hollywood blockbuster, Fast & Furious 6. Well, Alfa Romeo, in collaboration with MTV, has given the first one away.
Lucky contestant Lisa Clyma of Hampshire correctly identified the movie scene that featured the Alfa Giulietta. Now she’s taking the Competizione Red sedan home.
The six special-edition cars feature Alfa’s 1.4-liter, 170-horsepower, MultiAir engine; sport suspension; 18-inch dark-titanium alloy wheels; a commemorative FF6 plaque; and most importantly, a dashboard featuring signatures from the star-studded cast, including Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.
Other modifications include red Brembo brake calipers, side skirts, a rear spoiler, full-leather sport seats, aluminum sports pedals and Alfa’s signature D.N.A driving mode selector. The Giulietta is capable of hitting 62 mph in 7.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 135 mph.
We’re sure the other five Giuliettas are spoken for with an asking price of only £25,675 ($41,249 at current exchange rates), with a normal Giulietta starting around £19,000 (about $30,500). That sort of markup doesn’t seem too bad considering the extremely limited numbers produced, the special equipment included, and the signed dashboard.

Top Gear continually goes on about the fact that unless you’ve owned an Alfa Romeo, you cannot call yourself a true automotive enthusiast. We respectfully disagree with them on this issue despite the fact that Alfa’s certainly have a lot of character. Unfortunately that character has been missing from the U.S. for the past few years as no Alfa’s are currently on sale in America, with the obvious exception of a few second-hand cars popping up here and there.
The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione was the last Alfa on the market, but the 4C coupe first revealed at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show is set to be the latest car from the Italian firm to hit the U.S. market and if Autocar is to be believed, the 4C may hit the production line before it was expected.
The Alfa Romeo 4C was initially reported to hit the U.S. market in production guise in 2014, but within 12 months it’s likely that the production ready version will debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. It’s not yet known why the 4C may be hitting our shores before previously expected, but it’s likely that the recent announcement that Maserati will be constructing the 4C could speed up the production process.
If a debut in one year’s time does turn out to be true, then it’s highly possible that Alfa is currently finishing the minor details on the car as it could be previewed privately before the end of the year, although nothing has been confirmed thus far.
We often talk about how mergers and shared productions have really made the automotive world do a complete 180 in recent years. A great example of this is back in the late-1980s when Ferrari and Maserati were direct competitors and no one could have ever imagined that in 1999, Ferrari would have complete ownership of Maserati. Then, Maserati ended up being split between Alfa Romeo and Ferrari in 2005.
What would be good for a barrel of laughs would be to travel to the mid-1980s and tell Enzo Ferrari that in 2012 his company would be manufacturing a pair of engines for Maserati. Well, all irony aside, that is exactly what’s happening, but also included in this €50 million ($62 million) production deal are Alfa Romeo and Lancia. All four of these models are under the only ownership umbrella that rivals Volkswagen AG, Fiat S.p.A., which is what allows them to share information without fear of losing sales to one another.
The first engine to hit the market will likely be a twin-turbo V-6 powerhouse that will crank out up to 450 ponies. The second engine to come from this development sharing will be a naturally aspirated (non-turbo) V-8 model that will likely crest the 500-horsepower mark. Alfa Romeo has had plans for a replacement for its sports sedan, the 159, but a proper engine hasn’t been developed for it yet. These engines would certainly fit the need and give it a whopping 200- to 300-horsepower increase over the 2011 159’s 3.2-liter V-6.
For Lancia, we really can’t see a model that these engines are suited for, as Lancia currently only has a rebadged Chrysler 200 in its lineup. Maserati can slap either of these engines in any of its cars and it would look right at home, as long as all “Ferrari” badges are stripped. Then again, the automotive world could pay back Maserati by forcing it to slap a “by Ferrari” tag on it like the 1989 through 1991 Chrysler TC by Maserati that we all know and “love.”

Though not all auto buffs enjoy watching auto races, there is no disputing that all car buffs love race cars. This becomes even more amplified when you look at classic racecars, as this was back when racecars were really racecars. There were no restrictor plates or standardized engine manufacturing, if one maker could maximize power within the regulations of the sport, it was all good. Nowadays, racecars are, for the most part, mechanical copies of one another with a differing bodies.
So, when a classic race car hits the auction block, affluent car buffs’ ears perk up just a little bit, especially when a legend hits the block. The latest legend to be scheduled for auction through RM Auctions is the 1968 Alfa Romeo T33/2 ‘Daytona’, particularly chassis No. 75033.99. Ed McDonough, an Alfa Romeo expert, stated that chassis No. 75033.99 was a racing car of the 1960s, but the overall record keeping of chassis by Alfa Romeo was poor, so records of all of its races are a little sketchy, as are details of how many chassis were built.
McDonough estimates that 20 chassis were built and that this particular chassis was involved in one of the best showings by Autodelta/Alfa Romeo, as it was a part of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes at the 1968 500 KM race in Imola, beating Porsche by a wide margin.
The owner of the vehicle claims that the vehicle is in operating condition and is “very reliable.” It has a Dutch and U.K. road registration, and FIA, HTP, and FIVA documents.
This racing legend features a 270-horsepower, 2.0-liter V-8 engine – yes, a 2.0-liter V-8 – and a six-speed gearbox. It also features independent front and rear suspension, and has a 2,250 mm (88.58-inch) wheelbase. So, if you are in the market for a turnkey classic racer, you can snag this one up May 11 or 12, 2012 in Monaco. There is no estimated price, as of yet, but it will certainly crest the $100K mark, easily.
