Trying to pin down the most beautiful road car ever made is an impossible task. There are those that would give an arm and a leg to at least lay eyes on a 250 GTO and others that have altars in their homes dedicated to the Jaguar E-Type or the Lamborghini Miura.
However, among the cars tossed around in this discussion none is probably more exclusive than Alfa Romeo’s Tipo 33 Stradale. While Ferrari built over 30 250 GTOs in the mid-’60s, fewer than 10 Tipo 33s are believed to exist so to come to the realization that one of them is blue, not red, is akin to realizing that the Sun revolves around the Earth and not the other way around.

Alfa Romeo has built many beautiful cars over the years, but none is more impressive than the 33 Stradale. A breathtaking design with curvy and muscular lines, the 33 Stradale is not just beautiful, but it’s also a full-fledged race car that you can drive on public roads.
Alfa Romeo built just 18 from 1967 to 1969, but two were prototypes and six chassis were converted to concept cars. In all, only 10 actual units were built, which makes the 33 Stradale extremely rare. But this limited series also includes a special unicorn that was painted blue instead of red. And it just resurfaced after a full restoration in time for the company’s 110th anniversary.

The name Alfa Romeo has always been tightly tied to the world of motorsport. The 8C-R Tazio design study fully reflects that bond, as its name itself is a tribute to Italian race driver Tazio Nuvolari, who manhandled grand prix Alfas back when you could hardly find faster vehicles on the planet.
At the same time, the Alfa Romeo 8C-R Tazio is both a nod back to one of the most intricate designs to come out of the brand’s studios - the Disco Volante – and a celebration of the company’s 110th anniversary. And the best thing about it: it was imagined by an independent designer who’s had a long-lasting crush on Alfa Romeo.

The Alfa Romeo 4C was the sports car that marked the Italian company’s return to the U.S. after many years. But, as Alfa Romeo’s sales plummet and FCA starts to cut back, the 4C Spider has been canceled - just like the standard 4C at the end of 2018. Alfa Romeo has already stopped production, so the only 4Cs available as of November 2019 are those left in dealer inventories. So, if you want one, you better hurry up and get it.
Alfa Romeo is on the Verge of Death as Big Models Have Been Nixed
Alfa Romeo announced back in June of 2018 that it would revive the 8C and GTV with its product roadmap through 2022, but since then, things have certainly changed, Alfa’s sales have been rather sad at best, and those two models have been canceled altogether. The compact Tonale Crossover is still on the docket as is the larger electric SUV – big surprise there – but there’s more to this. A new, updated roadmap for the company for 2019-2022 has been released, and it’s not looking good at all. Where the company originally planned 7 models and refreshes, there are now just four – two of which are the mid-cycle refreshes for the Stelvio and Giulia, the only two models keeping the company alive at the moment.

Now a rather small automaker with no so many models on offer, Alfa Romeo was once one of the world’s most important nameplates and the creator of several iconic cars. The Alfa Romeo Montreal is one of them and Italian designer Luca Serafini just created a modern version of the two-door sports car. Affectionately named the Montreal Vision GT, like the official Vision Gran Turismo concepts various automakers have created since 2013, this virtual car is a cool design that Alfa Romeo should consider, at least for a concept vehicle.
Stunning Visage Of The Alfa Romeo LEA Concept Makes Us Dream
You are looking at one of the sexiest pieces of car design that has appeared this year. Luigi Memola, Singapour designer and head of Advance Design at EPTA Design ltd London, published his vision of the Alfa Romeo LEA Concept on Instagram to enter the #AlfaRomeoDesignChallenge organized by @cardesign.ru. You can see other entries following the hashtag on Instagram, but I believe that this particular LEA Concept is, by far, the best design. The LEA (Linea Emozionante Aerodinamica) mates the retro styling of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/2 with contemporary styling elements of the supercars of today.

1967 - 1969 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
Fast, expensive, rare, and achingly gorgeous - these are the words that describe the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. Produced in very limited quantities between November of 1967 and March of 1969, the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is a sports car based on the open-top Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Sports prototype racer, promising all the mechanical good stuff of a track-born competitor, but packaged with the freedom and relative comfort of a street-legal machine. Not to be confused with the four-door Alfa Romeo 33 sedan built between 1983 and 1995, the 33 Stradale follows the time-honored Italian tradition of bringing competition technology to the street, and suffice to say, the end result is epic from every single angle.

Mole Costruzione Artigianale’s second public project is called Almas, and it’s a ground-up new super GT car that could not have come from anywhere else but Italy. The design study will be unveiled at the 2019 Geneva motor show where we hope we will learn new things about it as current information is rather limited, to say the least.
Mole Costruzione Artigianale Almas oozes Italian style. It leaves a little tricolored puddle wherever it sits. It’s currently just a design study by Mole, the company that you may remember from its custom Alfa Romeo 4C project called Alfa Romeo Mole Costruzione Artigianale 001.
Unlike that Alfa Romeo 4C-based project, though, the Mole Almas isn’t built on another car’s underpinnings - it’s bespoke GT car with its own platform and this has given designers the freedom to make it look even more extreme. Its exterior design and styling certainly, the work of Umberto Palermo and Paolo Scudieri, make it stand out and the result is quintessentially Italian and very sculptural - it very successfully borrows design elements from classic Alfa Romeo and Maserati models, but everything is neatly integrated and the result is very visually cohesive.
Both its chassis and body are made from carbon fiber in order to keep weight down. We don’t know how much it weighs, or any technical facts for that matter, but we may learn more after it debuts at the 2019 Geneva motor show.
2019 Alfa Romeo 4C NIVOLA by Ugur Sahin Design
The reinvention of old shapes is somehow mystically exhilarating and reinvigorating. Especially if done properly as is the case with the 4C Nivola. Ugur Sahin Design is one of those life bearers, and its latest project is called the Alfa Romeo 4C Nivola. A car that will blossom and spiritually reimagine the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. And that was, for many, the most beautiful Alfa Romeo of all time.
After its photos surfaced on the Internet, the Alfa Romeo 4C Nivola bathed us all with its charm, historical links with the 33 Stradale (I almost wrote canonical links, because the Alfa Romeo story is more like a movie), and classic Italian glamour.
Yet, the designer behind this work of art, Ugur Sahin, is from Turkey, with the headquarters of his studio located in the Netherlands. That’s where he worked on the 4C Nivola design. It’s been in the works since he’d seen the 33 Stradale at Pebble Beach last year.
This car will not leave you listless, but packed with emotion. At least it did just that for me. I contacted Ugur Sahin, and he was more than straightforward with his answers. This is what I uncovered about the stunning Alfa Romeo 4C Nivola.
1993 Alfa Romeo RZ by Zagato
The Alfa Romeo RZ is the equally-boxy and equally odd open-top version of the icon that is the SZ. Controversial at the time, the Zagato styling of the SZ/RZ family is now, 30 years on, considered downright legendary.
Produced as a limited-run joint project between Alfa Romeo and Fiat, the SZ Coupe and the RZ Roadster were laid on the underpinnings of the famed Alfa Romeo 75. Little over 1,000 SZs were built while the production cycle of the RZ began just after the final SZ was put together. Although the exact number varies depending on the source, no more than 285 Alfa Romeo RZ cars were ever built, making it much rarer than the already sought-after coupe.
The RZ was equipped with the same four-cam engine as the SZ although the lack of a solid roof makes the RZ the slower of the two. Alfa Romeo also chose to offer the SZ in more than one color combination, customers being offered the opportunity to pick their SZ up in either yellow or black, besides the customary red which was the only color available for the coupe. The last SZ rolled out of Zagato’s plant in Terrazzano di Rho in 1994 and, in spite of their popularity among the fans of the brand, the SZ and RZ aren’t particularly expensive to grab nowadays.

What Do We Know About The New Alfa Romeo 8C?
It would seem that the most important goals for any manufacturer today are continuity and clarity. If you do cheap cars, do only them. If you do sports cars, focus only on them. If you are premium, adapt to what the people think is premium and push.
Alfa Romeo had a problem with its mission, vision, and continuity. Since the Eighties, it seems to have shifted its vision two or three times basically confusing buyers when it comes to what the brand truly represents. Now, it is eager to find its footing with what it should have done all along - sports character, upscale styling, and premium nature.
At a press conference held earlier this year Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Maserati and Alfa Romeo said: “We know our future depends on staying true to our sports car roots. We have learned that when we stay true to Alfa DNA, we can stand out in any segment.”
Thankfully, the brand seems to have found what it wants to be the best at. To communicate this noble vision to the automotive lunatics and solidify brand recognition, Alfa Romeo has to do some extraordinary things. Having the Giulia Quadrifoglio and the Stelvio Quadrifoglio was only a start. Now, the company needs to go further, and that further comes in the shape of the 8C.
Recently, the late Sergio Marchionne hinted at the new 8C only months before his death. Moreover, the plan FCA displayed in June clearly showcases a planned super sports car called the 8C, and it will appear in the next three or four years.
The New Alfa Romeo 8C Could Be An 800-Horsepower Supercar Stalker
Alfa Romeo’s plan to bring the back the 8C nameplate has come with a lot of speculation about its presentation. The prevalent buzz surrounding the model is that it’s going to be a supercar of some sort. As it turns out, though, it could be more than just a supercar. The new Alfa Romeo 8C could be an 800-horsepower hybrid monster, debunking previous rumors that said that it would “only” have 700 horsepower on tap.

Yet, regardless of such a wide array of tuning projects, it seems that they do their best work on stuff from Italy. As a chip tuning company from Germany, Pogea Racing started its operations in 1997 and, while I may list their best works for ages, I will actually focus on their latest projects - both of them based around the Alfa Romeo 4C. First one, named the Nemesis, appeared only months ago, but today, we have the chance to see the greenest Alfa Romeo 4C ever. It too got a name - the Centurion 007 – The Green Arrow.
As I am talking names, I have to point out that Pogea is quite creative when it comes to names. That Corvette I mentioned, they’ve called it the Big Red.
2020 Alfa Romeo GTV
Rumors about Alfa Romeo planning to make a two-door coupe version of the Giulia surfaced the web as soon as the sporty sedan hit the market. It took the Italian firm about two years to confirm that a coupe is indeed underway, but not everything is as we expected. To be more specific, Alfa Romeo will use a coupe to revive the GTV nameplate.
Not only that, but it will be offered as a Quadrifoglio that will be more powerful than the Giulia Quadrifoglio sedan. To top things off, it will have a mild hybrid drivetrain and an all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring. The coupe will most likely arrive in 2020 when the Giulia sedan should have already received its mid-cycle facelift. 2022 Alfa Romeo 8C
The Alfa Romeo 8c is returning after an eight-year absence, and it’s going to look and perform a lot differently than its limited-run predecessor. Early plans inside Alfa Romeo indicate that the new 8C is being packaged as a 700-horsepower supercar that will be able to compete against the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini. There’s no timetable yet on when the new 8C will arrive, but it should make its way into our lives before 2022, at least if it ends up happening.
