Sean Connery passed away on October 31, aged 90. The beloved actor leaves behind an impressive legacy with numerous awards and filmography, including more than 60 movies. Sir Sean Connery gained recognition as the first actor to portray James Bond, being featured in six installments of the famed franchise. Connery wasn't necessarily a big car guy, but he drove quite a few cool vehicles as James Bond.

Sunbeam Alpine Series II

James Bond is known for driving luxury or high-performance sports cars, but the first instalment of the movie had none. Bond's first car was a Sunbean Alpine Series II. Granted, the Alpine is still a sports car, but it's far from fancy, and it was actually pretty affordable. Producers paid only £985 for this car back in 1962. Getting a similar model in 2020 will set you back around £7,000, which makes the Sunbean Alpine Series II the most affordable Bond car ever. A two-door roadster, the Sunbeam Alpine was built from 1959 to 1968. The Series II version used in the first James Bond film was assembled between 1960 to 1963.

Bentley Mark IV

In "From Russia with Love," Connery drives a more luxurious Bentley. This car is often described as a Mark IV, but this nameplate was never used by the British company. The confusion comes from Ian Fleming, the creator of the James Bond novel, who used this name for a 1933 Bentley convertible. The car shown briefly in the movie is actually a 1935 3.5 Litre, a predecessor to the Bentley Mark IV. Produced from 1933 to 1939, this series included both 3.5 Litre and 4.25 Litre versions, with the former built until 1936. This stylish full-size car was bodied by various coachbuilders, but about half of them, including the car in the video, were created by Park Ward. Although the car's name suggests otherwise, this Bentley was fitted with a 3.7-liter inline-six. Originally priced from around £3,000, this British luxury car is now estimated at around £30,000.

Aston Martin DB5

Sean Connery actually drove this gorgeous British coupe in two different movies, as the DB5 returned in 1965 for "Thunderball." But the DB5 kept returning many years after Sean Connery was replaced as James Bond. The classic coupe can also be seen in "GoldenEye" (1995), "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997), "The World Is Not Enough" (1999), "Casino Royale" (2006), and "Skyfall" (2012).

The Aston Martin DB5 debuted in 1963, so it was used in the film only one year later. The DB5 was also the first to be fitted with weapons and gadgets. Priced from £4,175, the DB5 was an expensive car back in the day, but these coupes have since become much more expensive collectibles. Aston Martin DB5s are now valued at around £685,000, but this is an average. An actual James Bond DB5 was auctioned off for a whopping £5.2 million.

Lincoln Continental Convertible

Sean Connery appears in a 1964 Lincoln Continental Convertible in 1965's "Thunderball." The American luxury sedan makes a rather short appearance, as the Aston Martin DB5 remains the main star of this instalment. The 1964-model-year version is part of the fourth-generation Continental, produced from 1961 to 1969. The 1964 is also the first update with revised exterior styling and improved performance. This generation is obviously more famous for spawning the SS-100-X presidential cars, but Bond rides in a regular model. The 1964 Continental was priced from £4,750 new, and it's now estimated to cost around £20,336, which isn't bad for a classic.

Toyota 2000 GT

The Toyota 2000 GT is the strangest car on this list, but it's also one of the most expensive James Bond cars. The 2000 GT is a grand tourer that Toyota produced briefly from 1967 to 1970. It was featured in "You Only Live Twice" in 1967, but this specific car was different than the production model. Because Connery was too tall to fit into the low-slung sports car, Toyota built a bespoke convertible version for the movie. It was finished in white and appeared in the film during Bond's presence in Tokyo, Japan. The 2000 GT caused a big stir and helped Toyota's sports car become popular outside Japan.

Just like the production coupe, the one-off convertible was powered by a 2.0-liter inline-six engine rated at 148 horsepower. Toyota also offered a larger, 2.3-liter mill with less power but more torque. The drop-top 2000 GT reportedly cost £6,379 back in 1967, but the one-off is now worth a whopping £530,000.

Ford Mustang Mach 1

The Mach 1 wasn't the only Ford used in "Diamonds are Forever." The entire film is a Ford showcase, but the Mach 1 stands as the highlight of the Las Vegas car chase, when Connery drives it almost sideways on two-wheel to fit through a narrow alley. The Mach 1's original sticker is estimated at £2,883, while current examples are worth around £20,000.

Sean Connery's James Bond has increase in value the most

The Bond cars driven by Sean Connery aren't the most expensive. Daniel Craig takes that title with a total garage value of £4.4 million. Sean Connery comes in second with £1.29 million. However, the cars driven by Connery have increased in value the most. According to Scottishfield, their value jumped by a whopping 7,133 percent until 2019. Specifically, the cost of all cars increased from a total of £17,894 in their original movies to £1,294,414 today.
