A few days ago BMW launched the facelifted 2023 8-Series family. Minor updates were made to all the Coupe, Convertible, Gran Coupe and M8 models. As no surprise, now Alpina decided to announce the 2023 B8 Gran Coupe - a model that comes with the same minor updates when compared to the 2022 model year.

The refreshed 2023 B8 Gran Coupe will go on sale in July, 2022 at a price of €162,100 - or about $182,000 at the current exchange rates.

What was changed for the 2023 model year?

When it comes to looks, not much has been changed for the new B8 Gran Coupe, but there are some differences. First of all, the grille is now illuminated, and there is a choice of exclusive green and blue exterior finishes. The rear apron gets a black diffuser insert, while the coupe sweeping silhouette is extended by a subtle rear spoiler lip.

A new set of 20-spoke wheels is also offered, and they are wrapped in 245/35 ZR21 front and 285/30 ZR21 rear Pirelli tires.

On the inside, the B8 will be offered with the same dual-screen setup revealed in the facelifted 8 Series. The old 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is replaced by a new 12.3-inch Live Cockpit Professional display. The last additions include illuminated Alpina door sills and the iDrive controller in crystal glass with a lasered Alpina logo.

What stays the same?

There were no changes made under the hood, where the 2023 B8 Gran Coupe retains the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine from the previous year. It delivers a total of 621 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, numbers that make it a very good alternative to the M8 Gran Coupe. In the standard version, the latest delivers a total of 591 horsepower, while in the Competition version the output is raised to 617 horsepower. In both versions, the torque stays at 553 pound-feet.

The B8 Gran Coupe goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 201 mph.
