Car paparazzi extraordinaire Shmee150 recently paid a visit to Arash Motorcars, proving once again that when it comes to sniffing out the fastest machines on the planet, this guy is one of the best in the business. His latest video is more like a 30-minute episode of diving into everything and anything that has to do with one of the most highly regarded niche supercar builders in the world.
Speaking with Arash Farboud himself, the two discussed, among other things, the company’s latest pride and joy, the AF8 supercar.
It’s already known in and out of the industry that the AF8 is one shiny piece of metal and carbon fiber with matching performance credentials to boot. The floor of the supercar is actually made from Kevlar-carbon composite to provide “ballistic” protection against stones and road debris, and lest we forget, the AF8 is powered by an insane, GM-sourced, LS7 7.0-liter V-8 that produces 550 horsepower, enough to push the AF8 to 200 mph.
There’s more to just the discussion of the AF8 in this video so we’re advising everyone to watch the whole episode to get a full idea on how Arash has established itself as one of the finest exotic car builders in the world.
Elegant. Stylish. Fast. Really, really fast.
These are the words that can best describe the Arash AF-10, a British supercar that’s considered the brainchild of Arash Farboud. And by luck, one of these bad boys is up for sale on Jameslist.
The AF-10 was built exclusively with carbon construction and aluminum honeycomb to give the car’s chassis more strength and rigidity. The British supercar is also powered by a 7.0-liter LS7 Corvette Z06-sourced engine, which produces 550 horsepower and 475 lb/ft of torque with a top speed of 205 mph.
Judging by those numbers alone, the AF-10 is most definitely no slouch pretending to be a high-powered machine. This fine piece of British machinery is the absolute real deal, so much so that a price tag of $1 million on Jameslist isn’t that far-fetched.
This particular AF-10 does come with 621 miles tacked on the odometer. It’s not a long distance by any measure, but it’s still something that prospective buyers just might want to hear about.
Arash Cars will bring the AF10 supercar at MPH The Prestige & Performance Motor Show featuring Top Gear Live. In UK, the AF10 will be priced at £620,000 and will come with modular carbon-fiber chassis and a 550bhp 7-liter V8 engine under the hood.
"We wanted to bring something different to the supercar table, and felt that the industry needed a new and invigorating face and hopefully this is something we have achieved. Combining perfect design, without compromising on power, plus having one of the best emissions levels in the world, the AF10 is set to be a fantastic new car for the market."
The AF10 supercar will be joined by models from Aston Martin, Bentley, Caparo, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Maserati, McLaren, Pagani, Porsche, and Spyker. So, if you happen to be around London during November 11-14th, the MPH Show is the perfect place to be!
Press release after the jump.
Announced back in 2008, the British built Arash AF-10 super car is now an official production vehicle. The new sports car will go on sale for around $540,000 and if you want to park one in your driveway then you better hurry up, because over the 5 year production run only 70 units are scheduled to be produced.
The Arash super car is built with 100% carbon construction and uses an aluminum honeycomb complete with nomex panels to increase rigidity to provide the AF-10’s chassis with more strength. Instead of traditional glass the larger see through panels have been made out of lightweight non shatter and scratch resistant acrylic, however the much smaller side windows are made from laminated safety glass. All of the Arash AF-10’s body panels have been made using a carbon autoclave process which eliminates the need for excess resins and makes the parts even lighter and stiffer than ever.
Under the deck lid, the AF-10 is powered by a mid mounted 7.0 Liter LS7 sourced from a Corvette ZR-1 and is tuned to delivers a maximum output of 550 HP and 475 lb-ft of torque and is mounted to a six speed manual Graziano GT-ME1 gearbox. The way that it comes from the factory, the Arash AF-10 can hit a top speed of 205 MPH, however for those of you who crave more than the standard 550 HP offering, the British super car builder will also prepare an 800 HP and 1000 HP version. In order to satisfy the needs of super car enthusiasts who can’t afford the full size version, Arash is also preparing an AF-8 model.
