2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Concorde

2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Concorde

A 10-piece special edition model dedicated to one of the most unique aircrafts ever built

This is the Aston DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition. It’s limited to just 10 units and it pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the iconic Concorde’s first flight and the centenary of British Airways, one of the Concorde’s two operators. The DBS Superleggera Concorde isn’t your typical special edition Aston Martin, either. The automaker’s personalization division, Q by Aston Martin, was heavily involved in the development of the DBS Superleggera, right down to all the exclusive exterior and interior details that make the DBS Superleggera Concorde a special edition among special edition models. All 10 units of the DBS Superleggera Concorde will be sold through Aston Martin Bristol, which commissioned its creation. Pricing details have yet to be revealed, but if you’re looking to score one of the 10 available units, you’ll need to reach out to the dealership and express your interest. All 10 units will likely sell out as fast as it takes the Concorde to take flight.

Does an Aston Martin DBS Superleggera with almost 900 horsepower sound enticing to you?

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is the beneficiary of a significant aftermarket program from noted tuner Wheelsandmore. The tuner’s latest enterprise comprises two separate software updates to the DBS Superleggera’s 5.2-liter V-12 engine. The more significant of these two updates elevates the V-12’s output to levels you didn’t expect from the already potent DBS Superleggera. 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera On Her Majesty's Secret Service Edition

2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera On Her Majesty’s Secret Service Edition

Here’s another special edition Aston Martin that’s tied into Britain’s most dangerous (fictional) spy

Just as the roots run deep in the James Bond-Aston Martin relationship, so too is the crossover marketing potential between the two. For as long as 007 is mentioned, Aston Martin is never too far behind. We’ve seen the fruits that have sprouted from this relationship over the years. Now, we can add one more to the basket in the form of a new special edition Aston Martin, called the DBS Superleggera On Her Majesty’s Secret Service Edition. Excuse the obscenely long name of the SE since it pays tribute to the sixth James Bond movie of the same name. It just so happens that On Her Majesty’s Secret Service — the first Bond movie that didn’t star Sean Connery — is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and what better way to commemorate that milestone than by rolling out a 50-piece unit that’s inspired by the Aston that starred in the movie, the 1969 Aston Martin DBS. Unfortunately, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera On Her Majesty’s Secret Service Edition is only available in the U.K. Each model carries a starting price of £300,007.00, with first deliveries to starting the fourth quarter of this year. In case you’re wondering, Aston did add the £7 for gimmick’s sake. The total price converts to almost $380,000 based on current exchange rates.

2020 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante

Aston Martin’s flagship convertible replaces the old Vanquish Volante

The 2020 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante is the cabriolet version of the company’s latest range-topping grand tourer. Introduced to replace the already iconic but old Vanquish S Volante, the DBS Superleggera name returns after a six-year absence with a brand-new design, underpinnings from the 2018 Aston Martin DB11, and a turbocharged V-12 engine that generates in excess of 700 horsepower.

Designed to replace the aging Vanquish Volante, the 2020 DBS Superleggera Volante benefits from Aston Martin’s new design language that’s sleeker and more aggressive. The cabriolet is identical to the coupe below the waist, but it features a canvas top instead of the usual metal roof. A more luxurious interior, new technology, and a beefed-up drivetrain round out the grand tourer that challenges the 2020 Bentley Continental GTC.

Replacing the Vanquish with a classic

Having redesigned the DB9, which changed its name to the DB11, and the Vantage, Aston Martin now introduced a replacement for the Vanquish S. Much like the DB9, the Vanquish name was retired and replaced by a badge that goes back to the late 1960s. Meet the DBS Superleggera, the company’s new flagship grand tourer.

Built on the underpinnings of the DB11, the DBS Superleggera is lighter and more powerful. Tipping the scales at 3,733 pounds, the DBS shed nearly 160 pounds compared to the DB11. The grand tourer is also more aggressive by design, almost touching supercar territory thanks to its low-slung stance and really low ground clearance. The new grand tourer also pays homage to the historic super lightweight construction technology of the famous Italian coachbuilder Superleggera, which penned the iconic DB4 and DB5. Let’s find out what the new DBS Superleggera is all about in the review below.

1970 Aston Martin DBS

1970 Aston Martin DBS

The Bonhams auction is one of those rare times of the year when some of the most exotic classic vehicles are awaken from hibernation for whole world to see. This year, a special Aston Martin DBS was showcased at Bonhams and judging by its history as the DBS used in the British television series "The Persuaders!", you could understand why the car fetched for more than just a pretty penny.

The famed 1970 Aston Martin DBS that starred in the hit British television series was a popular model at Bonhams and the final price really validated its status as one of the most significant TV cars of its time. After all, nobody pays £533,500 for just any other Aston Martin from the 1970’s.

That figure also established a new world record for an Aston Martin DBS sold at auction. That’s a fitting designation for one of the few Aston Martins in history that people grew up watching on TV, beginning a love affair with the marquee that in its own way, has lasted the test of time and generations.

2012 Aston Martin DBS Volante Summerheat by Wheelsandmore

2012 Aston Martin DBS Volante Summerheat by Wheelsandmore

It seems a little odd for Wheelsandmore to release a tuning program strangely named "Summerheat".

But that’s exactly what the German aftermarket company did, and it used an Aston Martin DBS Volante to showcase its new project. The DBS Volante is impressive enough in its own right, but Wheelsandmore managed to give it the right kind of performance and handling bump that gives the British sports car some spicy new credentials.

It’s hard to imagine a car like the DBS Volante getting even more premium upgrades, let alone one that gives it a nice uptick in the power department. But such is the touch of Wheelsandmore.

Every time we think this aftermarket company has pushed its tuning skills to the limit, it comes back and proves us wrong time and time again.

It’s work on the DBS Volante is only the latest in a long line of examples that we hope doesn’t end now or any time soon.

2013 Aston Martin DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial

2013 Aston Martin DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial

Any time an automaker celebrates its 100th birthday, you can expect pretty much a year’s worth of festivities, including, but not limited to, the production of some pretty special one-off models.

Aston Martin is taking that route and true to form, noted Italian design house Zagato, has joined in on the party.

The two companies have collaborated to build a pair of one-offs, including one based on the new DBS Coupe. It’s called the DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial and it’s rather astounding.

Norihiko Harada, Zagato’s chief designer, admitted to redesigning the DBS as a difficult job especially when it came with the pressure of a one-off model that’s being developed to celebrate the British automaker’s 100th anniversary.

To the credit of everyone involved in the project, the DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial lives up to its exclusive designation. The coupe/fastback design of the car is a clear indication of its Aston Martin heritage while the double-bubble roof design and the flair by which its presented is true to form on what you’d expect with Zagato, especially the classic models that the one-off is reminiscent of.

In the end, designing the DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial brings the sporty styling together of Zagato with the classic luxury of Aston Martin. A job well done, if we do say so ourselves; something it’s Japanese owner will more than likely approve of.

2012 Aston Martin DBS Coupe

2012 Aston Martin DBS Coupe

The Aston Martin DBS has had a pretty long lifespan after first being introduced in 1967. The current generation, though, didn’t hit the market until 2008, which in itself is already long for the industry.

But despite its age, the DBS remains one of Aston Martin’s meal tickets, a car that has come to define the British automaker’s quest to build the ultimate expression of its engineering and technical know-how.

It’s not a coincidence that the DBS has lasted this long and even though, it’s ripe for a facelift, it’s still got the combination of style and power that even newer models like the Audi R8 V10 and the Bentley Continental GT have to take serious note of.

The 2012 Aston Martin DBS is personifies everything that’s right with Aston Martin, carrying with it the history and technology that has come to define this model in all the years that it’s been around.

2012 Aston Martin DBS Carbon Edition by Wheelsandmore

2012 Aston Martin DBS Carbon Edition by Wheelsandmore

German tuning firm Wheelsandmore is back with another program only a week removed from presenting its newest project for the Lamborghini Aventador.

This time around, Wheelsandmore is going for a decidedly British flavor: the Aston Martin DBS. Mind you, it’s not your typical DBS, although "typical" and "DBS" should never be used in the same sentence anyway. The project at hand is for the DBS Carbon Edition.

Wheelsandmore built up a program for this exclusive supercar and managed to smack another one out of the park. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much attention paid to dressing up the DBS Carbon Edition, sans the addition of 21-inch 6Sporz² wheels in one of two different finishes — carbon-fiber effect or carbon-fiber effect with a red a trim — wrapped in Continental Sport Contact 5P tires.

Wheelsandmore added in a new suspension module that dropped the DBS Carbon Edition by 25 mm (0.98 inches), which further enhanced the handling and appearance of the supercar. Finally, and most importantly, Wheelsandmore pumped up the DBS Carbon Edition’s output with the addition of its new CRP kit. This kit added an extra 40 horsepower to the British exotic’s 517-horsepower output, netting a total of 557 horsepower.

2012 Aston Martin DBS Casino Royale by Kahn Design

2012 Aston Martin DBS Casino Royale by Kahn Design

While the world is preparing to say good bye to the Aston Martin DBS, more and more tuners have turned their attention to the car that became famous thanks to its part in the James Bond movie Casino Royale. The latest package comes from British tuner Kahn Design who has tried to offer the DBS an alluring combination of style, sophistication, majesty, convention, comfort, and practicality.

Kahn’s package doesn’t include any power upgrades, but it does include a smoky exterior finish befitting of a spy. It has matte black front splitters, privacy tinted glass, a matte black rear diffuser, and a matte grey twin exhaust system. Adding to the look is a lowered sports suspension, which displays the new set of diamond cut smoked black Kahn 21" RSX-F wheels (available in 9 x 20) highlighted by the red brake calipers. Not much was done to the interior except for exquisite black Alcantara sports seats and a steering wheel complete with white stitching, but with Kahn’s tuning packages, customers can always ask for any array material and color combinations.

Power remains with the hand-built V12 engine producing a total of 510 hp at 6500 rpm.

2012 Aston Martin DBX Concept by DMC

2012 Aston Martin DBX Concept by DMC

German tuner DMC has a new project on their hands. No, it’s not a Lamborghini, but it’s something that looks about as stunning as anything they’ve ever built.

The Aston Martin DBX Concept is the kind of car you would fall head over heels for at the mere sight of it. Give credit to the Dusseldorf-based tuner because they did a heck of a job on the car.

The dramatic bodykit features a plethora of new components, including a new front bumper, side skirts, a new bonnet, a roof scoop, a rear spoiler, a rear bumper, and a rear diffuser. When taken all together and fitted into an Aston Martin DBS, the result is nothing short of breathtaking.

And by the way, there are also added splashes of flair, particularly the gold mesh inserts on the grille and the window edging, as well as what appears to be an optional dual central exhaust system.

About the only thing lacking is a performance mod, but since DMC is still testing the waters to see how the concept will be received - if there’s enough want, they could produce it as a limited edition - we’re still holding out hope that they work their magic under the hood of the DBX Concept.
