Automakers are constantly looking for a sales edge wherever they can get one and with a big tenth victory in this month’s grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans now sitting in their fruitful laps, Audi is prepared to cash in. In celebration of their marathon win, Audi UK has prepared the R8 V8 Limited Edition with only 100 units being offered to UK customers. Each model will be priced at £93,935 - or around $150,000 at the current exchange rates - and the first deliveries will be made in October 2011.

The R8 V8 Limited may be seeing a £7,000 (about $10,000 at the current rates) increase in price, but it benefits from an array of features worthy of the hike. The sports car will have an exclusive titanium effect paint finish and R8 GT-inspired titanium-look alloy wheels with red brake calipers, as well as carbon fiber options. The interior is dressed up with Black Fine Nappa Leather-upholstered seats and headrests and highlighted by crimson red accents on just about everything. From the flat bottomed, leather-covered multi-function steering wheel to the instrument cowl, leather finish monoposto, knee pads, and passenger door handle, red streams throughout the interior like blood coursing through its veins. Other additions include stainless steel pedals and illuminated door sills with bright aluminum inserts carrying the R8 logo. Power will come from the standard 4.2 liter 424 HP V8 FSI engine and can be mated to either a manual or R-tronic transmission.

The limited edition R8 also comes with equipment that isn’t standard for the regular R8, but gets thrown in the mix at no extra charge for the special edition. This equipment consists of the Audi magnetic ride, satellite navigation, the Audi Music Interface (AMI), interior light package, a Bang and Olufsen sound system, and Bluetooth mobile phone preparation with integrated seat-belt microphones.

It’s quite a bad news for the fans of V8 because its a little bit expensive . However, I adore most with its best features being shown in this article. It looks like a neat concept.

this car is very expensive but very catchy in the eye. i want to see the performance or the limitation of it capabilities. I like the Metallic design of this car and also the interior and exterior of it.

I dont think that this car has a high speed performance. It’s quite simple model. But I do adore some of its features.

this car has an impressive power performance and look as well. I like the power output of this vehicle and it makes me wonder on how will it perform in track with the power and engine upgrade. It looks like a neat concept.

This car has something that really caught my attention! I am really impressed on its packaging. The body paint is cool on it and so with the wheels. The wheels with unique design. smiley And I have to say that the engine specification of it is impressive as well.

Yeah! It still really looks good and very appealing. Moreover, it doesn’t truly matter at all if they didn’t upgrade the engine of this for the fact that it is as yet efficient on it.

I am not really surprised that this one is not getting a major engine upgrade. After all, this is just a special edition, so that’s expected. However, it certainly still looks good.

This is absolutely a perfect vehicle! I love the fact that it had a nice engine output of 424 horsepower, which could really give an awesome speed for this car. It also looks so attractive on its exterior.

This Audi’s special edition is very striking on its aggressiveness but very classy and sophisticated because of its sleek metallic body paint. I also noticed that it had an absolutely so comfortable interior which I love the most here.

Certainly one of the elevated and innovative sports car. See every details from unique headlight, gray scheme like a bundle on the car. Very executive and dominating unit of car. Nice job for Audi.

I’m impressed with the car lines of this car even the platform of it. The metallic paint that they used gives the macho image on it and I noticed that V8 engine is quite good for this kind of car.

Well, I don’t think that the speed performance of the car is admiring through the styling is just enough to make us drool to this production. I was thinking about which is better the RS6 or this car?

  (541) posted on 08.5.2011

I wonder if this vehicle is competing with the BMW 5 series? The figure performance is not that great. For a v8 technology, I was expecting for a 500+ hp output. However, the styling is quite elegant and sporty!

The bad thing about the special edition was that there’s no much modification made in the car aside from minor upgrade. For a limited edition I think it would be better to less consider this car,

I have seen the appearance of this car in the Iron Man 2! Hell! The elegance styling and luxurious design of the car is quite impressive! However, its better to less consider this car.

Why is it limited edition? I think they want the buyers to panic buy. They can make a lot of this. It’s price is not a big deal. It is upgraded in the first place.

  (276) posted on 07.4.2011

Well, I would agree that the price increase is actually just alright, just take a look at the features that they have included here and you would say that it is indeed packed.

Reading the specs, I am not really surprised that this one is not getting a major engine upgrade. After all, this is just a special edition, so that’s expected. But it certainly still looks good.

What’s so special on this one? As I see it, its still the same as the original Audi R8. I think its just Audi’s plan to make their model a new twist for the consumers.

Well, that would be the case if they won’t be able to come up with something much better than this. But before that time comes, I would be really glad to have my hands on this beauty and drive it around.
