ABT Sportsline->ke1753 isn’t bashful about admitting its expertise in developing aftermarket programs for Audi->ke14 vehicles. It’s actually quite proud of it; often touting itself as the biggest tuner of Audis in the world. That distinction didn’t happen overnight; it took a long time and it was certainly well-earned. If you’re still not believer, then you might want to take a look at the German tuner’s latest Audi program for the RS5.

The RS5 is, by all accounts, the closest thing to a performance powerhouse Audi has aside from the R8.->ke1440 At the very least, the RS5 is the most extreme four-seat->ke142 sports car->ke506 Audi has in its cupboard. It’s really the ideal car for ABT Sportsline, and the German tuner->ke1987 certainly didn’t disappoint.

ABT Sportsline’s new program for the RS5 is as comprehensive as it gets. It’s got cosmetic tweaks, aerodynamic upgrades, and performance modifications. The German tuner even threw in a new set of “black magic” wheels for good measure.

Now I’m not an authority in wheels, but something about that “black magic” name makes for a more interesting, if not a little intimidating aftermarket program. Leave it to ABT Sportsline to do just that.

Audi RS5-R By ABT Sportsline In Detail

Someday, I want my car to look just like this. In the event it never does, I can still live vicariously through this ABT program, which gave the RS5 a new carbon-fiber front skirt with an AeroFlics system. Not only does it look menacing, it allows for improved air circulation to the engine. The German tuner also installed a host of other carbon-fiber goodies, including the side skirts, the rear skirt, and the attention-grabbing rear wing. Special inserts for the front fenders are also offered, although those were added more for cosmetic purposes.

The interior of the RS5 is subject to customer personalization, which gives owners a chance to dress up their cabins through their own eyes. ABT Sportsline offers a plethora of new details, some of which, like leather and Alcantara, look about as good on the RS5 as they do in any of Audi’s other models.

You can't leave these bad boys out. There’s a reason why the Audi RS5-R looks like a race car. Actually, there are four big reasons for that, namely ABT Sportsline’s 20-inch ER-F20 wheels that are finished in that “black magic” look. These forged alloy wheels may be enormous, but they are actually very light; each one weighs just 9.3 kg (20.5 pounds) without rubber. Maybe "black magic" is how they were made, not the color.

Underneath the Audi RS5-R’s menacing exterior lies the car’s 4.2-liter, V-8 engine. Using its patented skills in engine tuning, ABT Sportsline’s tuners massaged the powertrain to increase output from its standard 450 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque to 470 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque. The added grunt gives the RS5-R the ability to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds and to a top speed of 180 mph.

Impressive numbers all around.
