The world is not yet ready for such powerful wagons

There is no doubt that the Audi RS6 Avant is a beast incarnate. Until a decade back, who would’ve imagined that a wagon with almost 600 horses under the hood would be a popular vehicle! The wagon drives and handles so well that tuners didn’t hesitate to give it more power. In recent times, we saw companies like ABT and Mansory twist it in their own ways. Both these tuners pumped up the power to around 700 horses. However, Wheels and More, a German tuner, decided to go berserk and give this machine a four-digit horsepower figure. Can we pit it against the likes of Bugattis and Koenigseggs already?

How Much Power Does The Performance Kit Add?

The stock Audi RS6 Avant is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine that produces 592 horses and 590 pound-feet of torque. The mill is also equipped with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. Power is sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Wheels and More offers five stages of tuning for the RS6 Avant.

The first stage bumps up the power to 710 horses and 679 pound-feet of torque. In the second and third stages, the power increases to 720 ponies and 686 pound-feet of torque. In the fourth stage, the increase is a lot more significant. The RS6 Avant now churns out 965 horses and 922 pound-feet of torque. Finally, in the fifth stage, the wagon breaks all the shackles and doles out 1010 ponies and 922 pound-feet of twist. Crazy, right?

Wheels and More has retained the same mill and transmission but made a lot of other changes. The fifth-stage upgrades include:

  • Software Upgrade
  • F1 Airfilter Kit
  • Capristo Valve Flap Exhaust With Pre-muffler Replacement Tubes
  • Mid-Silencer Replacement
  • Particle Filter Replacement Tubes
  • Catless Downpipes
  • Modified Air Intake And Manifold
  • Turbocharger Upgrade On Exchange
  • Larger Turbine Shafts
  • Larger Compressor Units
  • Reinforced Axial Bearings
  • Optimized Inputs
The Audi RS6 Avant comes with a new Launch Control function.

The super-wagon is also mated to a permanent Quattro all-wheel-drive system, and a mechanical center differential with a 40:60 split toward the rear wheels as a default setting. Two modes known as RS1 and RS2 are also installed that lets you choose between either a balanced setup or a performance one. Audi also stated that the differential sends up to 70-percent of torque to the front wheels and up to 85 percent to the rear set.

How Much Does The Performance Kit Cost?

With this kind of power at your disposal, you wouldn’t expect the tuning to be cheap. Wheels and More is charging €41,933, which is approximately $45,500. This is over and above the donor cost of the RS6 Avant, which starts at $109,000 in the States. Here are the prices of the other packages and their approximate conversions.

Stage 1 - €2,100 ($2,300)
Stage 2 - €7,688 ($8,350)
Stage 3 - €12,521 ($13,600)
Stage 4 - €33,529 ($36,400)

Does The Tuner Offer Anything Else As Well?

Wheels and More, like the name suggests, also offers multiple wheel designs. Such is their expertise that you can even order for customized wheels. Other than this, the company also offers suspension kits, exhaust systems, and of course, tuning options.

Final Thoughts

The Audi RS6 Avant is a brilliant vehicle. It looks sporty, is powerful even in the stock condition, and most of all, is very practical and can be used as a daily driver. Audi created a monster here that has the potential to handle a lot more power than it offers, and tuners worldwide are capitalizing on the same. Wheels and More has turned the RS6 Avant into a 1,000+ horsepower beast, which would’ve sounded absurd a decade or two back. If this package was offered in the U.S., it would cost you over $150,000, including the cost of the donor RS6 Avant. It sounds like a steal deal considering that vehicles offering a 1,000 ponies cost way more than this.
