2019 Audi RS9 Coupe
While it currently competes with BMW and Mercedes-Benz for supremacy on the premium market, Audi was nowhere near as fancy as a brand some three decades ago. But the Ingolstadt-based firm evolved quite dramatically in the 1990s and 2000s, and it’s now selling a handful of highly appreciated premium vehicles, including the A4, A6, A8, and Q7. However, while Audi joined several new niches in recent years, it still doesn’t have a competitor for the relatively new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. But this will change soon, as Audi is already working on the A9, a two-door version of the new A8 and its largest, most luxurious coupe yet. Alongisde the A9, Audi is also rumored to have an RS9 model in the works. The latter will compete against the Mercedes-AMG S63 and the recently confirmed BMW M8.
There’s no official word as to when the A9 will arrive, but it will be heavily based on the Prologue Concept that Audi launched back in 2014. The show car has already inspired the design of the new A8, but its coupe configuration might make it into production with very few changes. As with all RS-badged models, the RS9 will be a beefed-up version of the A9, with revised aerodynamics, bespoke features inside, and a more powerful engine under the hood. The RS9 will enable Audi to compete in the still fresh performance, luxury coupe market that will soon include both Mercedes-Benz and BMW, Ingolstadt’s most important rivals. Let’s find out what it may bring to the table.

2020 Audi A9 E-tron
Rumors that Audi is planning to launch an A9 model have been flying around for quite a few years now. Come 2016 and the German brand has confirmed that a brand-new model to use this nameplate is indeed underway and will hit the market by 2020. However, while the plans were to create the A9 as a larger, coupe-styled four-door, Audi decided to go with an electric sedan that would compete against the popular Tesla Model S.
Set to be introduced "as high up as possible in the A8 segment," the upcoming A9 was previewed by the E-tron Quattro concept at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is believed that the exterior design will be similar, while motivation will be provided by an evolution of the concept car’s drivetrain. The A9 E-tron will also share technology with the upcoming Q6 E-tron SUV.
Both vehicles are part of Audi’s recent strategy to increase the number of electric vehicles in its lineup. The company wants to have three EVs by 2020, which it will achieve with the A3, A9, and Q6 E-trons, and extend it to 25 percent of its lineup by 2025. Most details as to what the new A9 E-tron will bring to the market are not yet available, but we have the E-Tron Quattro concept to look at for certain hints. Check out our speculative review and rendering for more information and stay tuned for updates.

Audi has just pulled the sheet of its latest concept at the L.A. Auto Show, a car that we tentatively called the A9, and it is nothing like what we expected. Dubbed the Prologue Concept, this new two-door is the most radical machine that Audi has released in memory. It has been created by Audi’s new Head of Design, Marc Lichte to paint the way forward for the future of the brand. The name Prologue was chosen as this large luxury model has been created to make a new design start for the German brand. Audi has long been chided for its boring and iterative visual updates, so the Prologue Concept is going to pave a way forward for more interesting and dynamic designs across the range.
With a shape that is leaner, crisper and more dramatic than anything else Audi has in its lineup, the Prologue concept is stunning to look at. I am not sure I would call it pretty in a traditional sense, but is certainly new and different, which is what Audi really needs. With a size similar to the big A8, this Audi has lots of room of subtle touches and changes, and Audi says there are plenty. Keep reading to learn about all the cool new details used to create this new super-sized coupe.

The current Audi line-up starts with the A1 and goes all the way up to the A8, but things are about to change as Audi is planning on a new luxury four-door sedan to be called the A9. It will be placed above the currentA8 and will be the most luxurious and the most expensive model Audi has ever offered.
Next to the sport version of the A1 and the Q1, the luxury sports A9 comes as an attempt to allow Audi to become the "world’s premium brand, number one," as Audi said in a previous statement, and they are barreling forward with the new A9 as they target models like the Porsche Panamera Turbo.
However, with speed comes a high price tag. A car like this starts off at 100,000 euro (around $140,000 at the current exchange rates) so you better be packing some cash to deal with this heat.
