2020 Audi TT-RS - Driven
Audi updated the TT-RS for the 2019 model year, and after just a year on the market, we finally managed to get our hands on one. To our surprise, we found that the updated front and rear designs actually give the TT-RS a more dynamic, yet aggressive look. That is thanks to, at least in part, the new honeycomb grille up front that’s paired with the contrasted front spoiler lip.
Further emphasizing the sporty appearance of our TT-RS tester were the black mirror caps, the black accents on the rear spoiler, and the black diffuser-like elements in the rear fascia. Most people wouldn’t recognize some of the smaller bits, but those black legs for the spoiler, for instance, really stand out with the black accents on the rear decklid and the taillights.
The interior design of the TT-RS just screams performance and, at times, we almost felt like we were driving a Porsche. Maybe it’s the honeycomb inserts on the seats, the low seating position, or the material on the flat-bottom steering wheel. Honestly, it was probably a combination of all three, but we were so mesmerized by the crispness of the Audi virtual cockpit it was hard to look away.
Under the hood sits Audi’s classic 2.5-liter inline-five with 400 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. We really wish we had a six-speed manual, but unfortunately, the best we could ask for was the seven-speed automatic. The AWD was nice and, despite Audi’s claims of a 3.7-second sprint to 60 mph, we actually clocked the same run somewhere in the high-3.5 to low-3.6 range on multiple occasions. If we had tried a top speed run, we would have been limited to 155 mph (we didn’t break the highway speed limit, though) however, if you’re willing to pay for it, you could get that limit raised to 174 mph. Pricing for our tester, as you see it here, was $77,490.
2020 Audi RS4 Avant
At a time when wagons are slowly evolving from being family haulers to performance beasts, people in the U.S. are missing out on a lot of action. The Audi RS4 and the RS6 Avant give us the major #FOMO feels. Audi has told wagon-lovers in the U.S. not to give up hopes yet, as the company said, "We always look at potential new opportunities in the market. It’s a niche to explore. We keep holding discussions. Keep writing us letters.” That’s not a confirmation in any way, but it sounds like an assurance for the time being. Now, the company has finally unveiled the 2020 Audi RS4 Avant with aesthetic changes and a few changes inside the cabin. Is it better than the previous iteration?
2020 Audi A5 Sportback
An all-new 2020 Audi A5 Sportback is nearing its introduction. While we are still months away from the reveal, numerous spy shots of A5 Sportback prototypes provide us with a unique glimpse into the future of the popular Audi fastback sedan.
Captured somewhere in Scandinavia earlier this year, and lately, in Germany and Spain, the 2020 Audi A5 Sportback prototype shows new light clusters in the back, new tailpipes, and even some mods on the bumpers. The car is likely to assume the technology from the latest Audi A4, and it will remain as one of the most alluring small executive sedans on the U.S. market.
2019 Audi A1 citycarver
The Audi A1 citycarver — yep, no caps here — is living proof that automakers will go to any lengths to attach the words “crossover” or “SUV” to their models. The result is the creation of sub, sub-lines born out of sub-lines born out of main model lines. It’s confusing on a lot of levels, but that’s the nature of the beast in the auto biz these days. On the surface, the A1 citycarver looks like a more rugged version of the A1. While there is some truth to that, appearances can be deceiving, too. The A1 citycarver is slightly higher than the A1 and it also comes with suspension tweaks aimed to make it more appealing to rugged urbanites who are looking for more adventures with their A1s. Most of the bits though come directly from the A1, so it is classified as a different version of Audi’s hatchback, the A1 citycarver is just an A1 wrapped in tighter clothing. The Audi A1 citycarver goes on sale this month in Europe at a yet-to-be-determined price tag. There’s no word yet whether it makes the trek to America or not.
2019 Audi RS3 Hatchback by ABT Sportsline
Eight years ago, Audi unveiled the RS3 to a lot of fanfare. It was Ingolstadt’s contribution to the growing popularity of hot hatches that has since taken on a life of its own. Now, it’s 2019 and the RS3 continues to hold the fort for Audi as a 400-horsepower ”Pocket Hercules.” But suppose there was a way to give this Hercules more muscle? Would that be something you’d be interested in? If your answer is “yes,” then might I introduce you to ABT Sportsline’s latest work of art, a performance-centric tuning program designed to give the RS3’s 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine more power than what it’s already capable of producing. In a segment where a model like the Mercedes-AMG A 45 can roll out a 416-horsepower four-banger fresh from the production line, the current RS3 is going to need as much help as it can get to stave off the competition. ABT Sportsline, as it turns out, is here to save the day.
2020 Audi A4
The 2020 Audi A4 has arrived with a fresh look, new technologies, and enough engine options to make your head spin. While it’s technically a mid-cycle refresh of the same generation model that launched in 2016, the 2020 A4 looks and feels more than just a refresh. You can call it an all-new model because that’s what it actually is. The updates are significant across the board, so much that it’s hard to look at the 2020 A4 as a continuation of the current-generation A4 B9 model. Audi’s new compact luxury sedan looks every bit like the winner we all hoped it would be. Now it’s time for the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes C-Class to stand up and take notice. The 2020 Audi A4 is coming, and it’s coming with a vengeance. U.S. availability and pricing of the 2020 A4 have yet to be announced, but those details should come soon, ahead of the sedan’s scheduled launch later this year.
2020 Audi A4 Avant
Audi’s current sedan lineup consists of the A8, the A7, and the A6, followed by the A4 taking up the smallest slot of them all. Among these four-door nameplates, Audi also offers a variety of wagon iterations for added practicality. The A4 Avant takes up that space in the A4 family, and with the arrival of the 2020 A4 Avant, we finally get a good look at Audi’s new entry-level wagon in all its glory. Updates for the new wagon come everywhere, whether it’s the fresh exterior styling or the cleaner center console in the interior. The 2020 A4 Avant also benefits from the latest in Audi technology, not to mention a lineup of gas- and diesel-powered engines — with mild hybrid assist — that should cater to the whims and preferences of all the customers in markets where the A4 Avant is available. The 2020 Audi A4 Avant will be available sometime in the latter half of the year. Unfortunately, the U.S. market isn’t getting the 2020 A4 Avant, as has been the case for a long time.
2020 Audi S4 Avant
Audi promised a significant redesign of the A4 and, like clockwork, that promise finally materialized with the debut of the 2020 A4. The German automaker didn’t just stop with the new A4, either. The entire family of models attached to the luxury sedan also arrived, including the S4 Avant, the high-performance wagon that has remained a forbidden fruit for customers in the U.S. Just like the A4, the S4 Avant is arriving in style. It still traces its roots to the current B9 generation of the A4 that dates back to 2016, but you wouldn’t know it once you get a good look at it. Most of the changes are cosmetic, though there are also a handful of technological updates that gives the punchy wagon an all-new model vibe. Unless Audi has a change of heart, it doesn’t look like we’ll get to see the updated S4 Avant in the U.S. anytime soon. Years have passed, and the S4 Avant is still out of their reach.
2020 Audi Q4
Audi’s crossover and SUV lineup is already mighty stout, but that isn’t stopping the Four Rings from adding yet another high-rider to the list. The latest will take the name Q4, and as you might expect, it’ll squeeze in between the Q3 and Q5 within Audi’s stable. Alternatively, the new crossover could also carry the name Q3 Sportback. Either way, the fresh ‘ute will offer a more coupe-like roofline compared to the standard Q3, but carry over the current Q3’s interior appointment, engine, and drivetrain, plus all the options.

2019 Audi AI:ME Concept
Audi revealed the AI:me concept at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, and it clearly gives a preview of what our future will look like. Audi has been on an electric vehicle onslaught, and this concept shows one of the many facets that the company is capable of. Audi’s creation prior to the AI:me, the Q4 e-tron EV, looks like it could be ’production-ized’ soon. But with the AI:me, Audi aims to show what an urban, electric autonomous car could look like in a couple of decades from now.
Audi is in the advanced stages of testing an all-electric version of its Q2 crossover, the smallest high riding vehicle it currently sells. The Q2 e-Tron (which is what it will most likely be called) will complete the Q2 lineup that also includes the SQ2 performance model, as well as an extended wheelbase Q2 destined for the Chinese market. The Q2 EV won’t differ much visually from other models in the range, but with a careful look, you will be able to spot that it is the battery powered model. The camouflaged prototype snagged by our spies has no exhaust pipe, for instance, and it’s bound to have additional small exterior giveaways as to what it is. It’s also been suggested that the Q2 e-Tron might use the lengthened platform of the Chinese-market model, but at the moment we really cannot make a definitive judgment on that based solely on this batch of spy shots. Furthermore, the Q2 e-Tron may only be sold in China, although there is a good chance it will reach Europe as well - this would represent the first sale of a long-wheelbase Chinese-market Audi model in Europe.

2020 Audi SQ3 / RS Q3
Audi first kicked off production of the Q3 luxury subcompact crossover in 2011 for the 2012 model year, following it up with a series of refreshes in 2014 and 2015. Also offered as a pair of tuned versions from Audi Sport GmbH under the SQ3 and RS Q3 nomenclature, it looks as though the Four Rings is gearing up to release a second generation for the go-faster Q3’s, as evidenced by this series of spy shots showing a black-and-white test mule out and about for some apex huntin’ at the Nurburgring.

2019 Audi SQ5 TDI
Audi released the new 2019 Audi SQ5 TDI, and it will showcase the brute at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. Yet, before I get into all the “what’s new” jazz, let me give you some perspective here, right in the introduction. The 2015 Ford Mustang GT comes with a V-8 with 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque and can accelerate to 60 in 4.4 seconds. The 2016 Chevy Camaro SS comes with a V-8 with 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque and can accelerate to 60 in 4.3 seconds. The 2018 Durango SRT comes with a V-8 with 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque and can accelerate to 60 in 4.4 seconds. Now, the new Audi SQ5 TDI isn’t as quick. It will accelerate to 60 mph in 5 seconds. So, around half a second slower, but not far off.
So, why the hell am I mentioning American muscle cars here? Well, unlike them, Audi doesn’t run on gasoline, it does not have a V-8, and its engine is around 25-percent smaller in terms of displacement compared to any of the cars listed here. Ladies and gentlemen, I know that comparing a compact SUV with muscle cars and a massive SUV like the Dodge Durango is, basically, blasphemy, but the Audi SQ5 is that insane, amazing, and incredible. In its newest iteration it is, by far, the most amazing diesel-powered performance SUV I know of. Yes, Alpina does have that mad BMW X3-based XD3 with 388 horsepower, but I consider that to be an aftermarket offering despite the car being produced on the same production line as the regular X3.
2020 Audi A4 Allroad
Estates have always been looked upon as family and luggage haulers. They were never meant to be attractive, fast, or adventurous. These vehicles were boring, but very practical. But with time, estates, aka wagons, started getting glamorous and confident, and lately, even luxurious. One classic example of the same is the Audi A4 Allroad. Other than the slight body roll and the long tail, it is a perfect blend of a sedan’s ride and handling and an SUVs practicality and off-roading capabilities.
2020 Audi A1 Allroad
Audi looks set to increase the number of Allroad models it sells with its smallest offering, the A1 Allroad, which was caught testing under camouflage around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The car in the photos is definitely an A1, but it has a raised ground clearance and what looks like plastic cladding around the lower part of its body.
It will be based on the second generation A1 which debuted this year at the Paris motor show and if we look at what Audi has chosen to hide with camo are a different front grille and bumper, as well as the rear bumper.
Test Drive - An Honest Take on the 2019 Audi RS3 Sportback
An Audi RS3 Sportback test drive is like the holy grail for hot hatchback lovers. I visited that holy grail of mine, and boy was I overwhelmed by the experience.
As you probably figured out if you read about my time at the Continental #blackchili Driving Experience, I had a unique chance to drive a number of cool cars at an exclusive vlogger/blogger/influencer event organized by Continental AG in Nice. It was called the #blackchili Driving Experience, and I had a chance to drive the Audi RS3 Sportback there on a fantastic route that spanned for 40 or 50 miles. No, that is not enough for a proper test drive, nor was the time spent with the Audi RS3 Sportback enough for a proper assessment of its abilities or its virtues. But it was enough for one thing - to teach me that this hot-hatch is a freaking monster, an animal only a few could tame, and the biggest sleeper I have ever driven.
2018 Audi Q2 by ABT
How do you make a car special when it’s basically a substitute for your other models? As for the looks, the Q2 has it in its DNA, and the interior can put models twice its price to shame. So, what do you do? Simple - Make it more powerful. But doesn’t that leave you with the option of buying the Q3 instead? It does, but not when it’s retuned by ABT Sportsline company. ABT has reworked on the Q2’s most powerful petrol and diesel engines to give us a true road-runner.
2018 Audi A4 Ultra Sport Edition
In an effort to compliment Audi enthusiasts who appreciate a good stick shift and, obviously, ease the news that Audi won’t be offering the A4 and the A5 with the option of a manual transmission from the 2019 model year onwards, it’s said that the company will introduce the A4 Ultra Sport Edition. It is a limited-edition car only 40 of which will be produced and sold, presumably to Audi lovers. Despite the sad news of Audi discontinuing its offering of the manual on their popular models, the A4 Ultra Sport Edition is actually a fitting adieu to the stick shift.
In order to make it as impressive as possible, Audi gave it a number of pieces to differentiate it from the rest of the lineup.
2019 Audi A3
The Audi A3 was spotted testing on public roads with what appears to be a production-ready exterior. The hatchback is wrapped in camo from front to rear, but the headlamps, the grille, and other details hint at the company’s recent corporate look. The A3 was joined by the higher performance S3 model. While the regular A3 will break cover in 2019 and go on sale for the 2020 model year, the S3 will probably arrive later, most likely for the 2021 model year.
Audi SQ5 by Lumma Design
As far as compact SUVs go, the Audi SQ5 feels like a textbook example of how to make cars. It’s sleek, sophisticated, and somehow looks like an Apple phone - clean and just right. Making something wacky out of it requires some thinking and creativity. In this case, Lumma, a German tuning company, took it upon itself to craft a customization package trying to awaken the buried raw character hidden behind its SQ5 badge.
2019 Audi Q3
Audi first produced the Q3 compact crossover in 2011, but didn’t bring it stateside until after a refresh for the2015 model year. Since its star-spangled arrival, the luxury-oriented high-stance five-door has posted strong sales numbers, performing well in a segment fraught with competition. These days, demand for small SUVs continues to grow unabated, which means Audi is giving the Q3 a second-gen update for the 2019 model year. Providing the Q3’s latest styling cues and equipment perks is Audi’s lineup of range-toppers, including the Q8 and the A8, while larger exterior dimensions and a turbocharged engine lineup round it out.

2019 Audi TT
Audi first introduced the TT as a sporty compact two-door in the late ‘90s, with the latest third-generation model arriving in 2014 at the Geneva International Motor Show. Offered as both a hardtop coupe and a drop-top roadster, Audi sends the TT into the 2019 model year with a mild refresh, including an updated exterior, a new seven-speed gearbox, and more standard equipment as well.
