Kick Off Your Weekend By Watching an Audi R8 Take on an Audi TT RS-R
On paper, the stock Audi TT RS is no match to the Audi R8 V-10 Plus. One car is powered by a 2.5-liter TFSI engine that produces 394 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the other car packs a 5.2-liter FSI V-10 engine that produces 610 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque.
You can’t dispute those figures, especially when you race both Audis against each other. So why did Carwow bother to race a TT RS against an R8 V10 Plus? The answer is the TT RS-R, the heavily modified version of the sports coupe.

These two cars come from the same, larger automotive group umbrella, yet their personalities are so different that a drag race between them almost doesn’t make any sense.
Carwow, however, pitted the Audi RS 5 Sportback and the Porsche 911 Carrera S against each other and we are glad they did - and so must be Audi - because the race shows just how quick the RS 5 is in the company of a thoroughbred sports car like the Neunelfer, which also happens to pack a vicious Launch Control feature.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – we’re living in some very interesting times. As battery and electric motor technology continue to improve, the internal combustion status quo is feeling the heat. Whether its setting records at the Nurburgring or challenging for the win at Pikes Peak, the all-electric performance revolution is undoubtedly here. And that battle extends well beyond the racetrack – the Tesla Model S is now setting the benchmark when it comes to street-ready luxury sedan performance, leaving the dino-juice-drinking competition to answer the call. And to see exactly how far the Ludicrous+ mobile has come, Motor Trend decided to pit it against the Audi RS7, a ‘Bahn-burning AWD monster from Germany. It’s an electric charge against an entrenched ICE line in a battle for four-door supremacy. Who will come out on top?
The battery of tests includes a stint on the streets of L.A., an exterior walkaround, a cargo capacity test, a highway cruise, and a drag race. I won’t spoil which car comes out on top, but will say it’s worth a watch.
Looks can be deceiving, can’t they?
What looks like a seemingly ordinary Audi A5 is anything but normal when you look at what’s sticking out of its rear end. Dressed in a polished white garb, this particular A5 has been stripped bare of just about everything except for the body panels. What it now has, though, is a 1,000-horsepower turbocharged drag engine complete with a parachute on its behind and a full roll cage for safety.
The work was done by Jens Eklund and his team over at Eklund Racing, no strangers to turning Audis into 1,000-horsepower vehicles of mayhem. Apparently, their appetite for cars of mass destruction is once again being satiated by this unassuming A5.
Just goes to show how far boost junkies will go to to get their fix. We’re just hoping that they didn’t remove the seat belts like they did to just about everything else.
