2020 Audi SQ7
The current-generation Audi SQ7 was only unveiled last year, but it didn’t take Audi long to start developing an updated version of the punchy SUV. That appears to be the case as new spy photos of an SQ7 test mule have been spotted in the wild. The prototype appeared in the wild with another test vehicle — likely the Q7 — in what can only be described as the latest evidence that Audi isn’t sitting on its laurels when it comes to giving its two performance SUVs the necessary updates that’ll keep it fresh in the eyes of consumers.
Update 01/10/2019: The 2020 Audi SQ7 is being put through pre-production, cold-weather testing and is probably in the final stages of testing. A debut should be coming in the next few months, but until then, we have a fresh batch of spy shots located in the gallery at the bottom of this article. Enjoy!
2020 Audi SQ3 / RS Q3
Audi first kicked off production of the Q3 luxury subcompact crossover in 2011 for the 2012 model year, following it up with a series of refreshes in 2014 and 2015. Also offered as a pair of tuned versions from Audi Sport GmbH under the SQ3 and RS Q3 nomenclature, it looks as though the Four Rings is gearing up to release a second generation for the go-faster Q3’s, as evidenced by this series of spy shots showing a black-and-white test mule out and about for some apex huntin’ at the Nurburgring.
Update 01/10/2019: The Audi RS Q3 was caught on camera playing in the snow only this time, it’s taken more of a production-ready appearance that pushes us to believe Audi looks to compete with the new AMG A45. Audi is in the advanced stages of testing an all-electric version of its Q2 crossover, the smallest high riding vehicle it currently sells. The Q2 e-Tron (which is what it will most likely be called) will complete the Q2 lineup that also includes the SQ2 performance model, as well as an extended wheelbase Q2 destined for the Chinese market. The Q2 EV won’t differ much visually from other models in the range, but with a careful look, you will be able to spot that it is the battery powered model. The camouflaged prototype snagged by our spies has no exhaust pipe, for instance, and it’s bound to have additional small exterior giveaways as to what it is. It’s also been suggested that the Q2 e-Tron might use the lengthened platform of the Chinese-market model, but at the moment we really cannot make a definitive judgment on that based solely on this batch of spy shots. Furthermore, the Q2 e-Tron may only be sold in China, although there is a good chance it will reach Europe as well - this would represent the first sale of a long-wheelbase Chinese-market Audi model in Europe.
2020 Audi Q4
Audi’s crossover and SUV lineup is already mighty stout, but that isn’t stopping the Four Rings from adding yet another high-rider to the list. The latest will take the name Q4, and as you might expect, it’ll squeeze in between the Q3 and Q5 within Audi’s stable. Alternatively, the new crossover could also carry the name Q3 Sportback. Either way, the fresh ‘ute will offer a more coupe-like roofline compared to the standard Q3, but carry over the current Q3’s interior appointment, engine, and drivetrain, plus all the options.
2020 Audi A4 Avant
Audi’s current sedan lineup consists of the A8, the A7, and the A6, followed by the A4 taking up the smallest slot of them all. Among these four-door nameplates, Audi also offers a variety of wagon iterations for added practicality, and now it’s looking like the compact A4 Avant is close to an extensive refresh, as revealed in a series of spy shots that capture a new prototype out and about for some cold-weather testing in Sweden. Updates are likely to include fresh exterior styling, a sleeker interior layout, and the very latest technology for convenience, entertainment, and safety.
2019 Audi RS7 Sportback
Audi first introduced the A7 in 2010 at the Paris Motor Sow as a sporty, yet practical iteration of the A6. U.S. models arrived for the 2012 model year, while the hot-to-trot RS7 was released in 2013 with more power, complimentary suspension and chassis upgrades, and sharper looks. Now, following the release of the second-gen A7 in October of 2017, Audi is cooking up a second generation for the RS7 as well, and it could get as much as 700 hybridized horsepower under the hood.

2018 Audi e-Tron GT Concept
Audi is as committed as anybody to an EV future, and the unveiling of the e-Tron GT Concept at the 2018 L.A. Auto Show further illustrates the desire of the German automaker to have an EV for everyone. The e-Tron GT will be the car for those who love to go fast in a 4-door coupe body. Its stablemate, the Taycan, as well as Tesla’s Model S, are clear targets.
Recently, Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier criticized German automakers for making boring-looking electric cars. "I really wonder when you, Mr. Zetsche, or you, Mr. Diess, or Mr. Krüger of BMW will be able to build an electric car that is only half as sexy as one Tesla," he said in his sharp remark. As if trying to prove the government official wrong, Audi unexpectedly showed up in L.A. with the e-Tron GT concept that’s, well, stunning from every angle. And before you start yammering about how concept cars change down the path to production, Audi says this concept shows the almost production-ready model that will hit showrooms in 2020 for the 2021 model year.
Audi wants to have a fleet of 12 electric cars by 2025, and this will be its flagship. What it is, in short, is a shorter, more aggressive, A7. It will share the platform with Porsche’s Taycan, but the two manufacturers are coy to point out the similarities between the two models. Oh, and Robert Downey Jr. wasn’t a random VIP guest at the launch of the e-Tron GT, as the car will star in the upcoming Avengers 4 movie. If the car will look this good in production guise, then all the hype Audi’s building is worth it.
2019 Audi S6
The Audi A6 was redesigned in 2018 after six years on the market and now its time for other versions of the sedan to get their official launch. First on the list is the S6, which we began seeing on public roads as a camouflaged prototype in 2017. Come 2018 and the four-door moving closer to an official launch, and we already know a lot of details about it.
The sedan is still hidden under wraps, but as before, the S6 will sport the same styling cues as the A6, but it will feature a slightly more aggressive exterior and a more potent drivetrain. The upcoming S6 is more important than ever to Audi, as both BMW and Mercedes-Benz have solid offerings in this niche in the M550i xDrive and the AMG E53 Sedan, respectively. Audi is in the final stages of testing and refining its upcoming A3 hatchback, as well as the hot S3 version of it. It’s not clear when the new S3 may debut, but it will probably be at a major motor show sometime in 2019 - we’ve heard rumors that Audi is ditching the three-door model and will only sell its hatch as either a five-door or sedan.
The model, in true Audi fashion, looks like an evolution of the current model, and the only real giveaway that the vehicle spotted by our spies is the spiced up S3 is the fact that it has those quad exhausts in the back; it also looks as if its fenders are wider than what we saw in previous spy shots of the regular A3, but we can’t say for sure due to the use of psychedelic camo.
Power for the next S3 will most likely come from a development of the same four-cylinder turbo that motivates the current model which may get a modest horsepower increase. Electrification of some kind is not out of the question either, as Audi has announced its commitment to bringing it more models - maybe even performance models.
2019 Audi R8
Introduced in 2015, the second-generation Audi R8 was facelifted for the 2019 model year. The mid-cycle upgrade arrived rather soon, suggesting that the supercar might be redesigned in three years or so. The facelift brought a sportier exterior, a mildly altered interior, and important changes under the hood. Likewise, the R8 V10 Plus model was renamed the V10 Performance.
Sharing 50 percent of components with the R8 LMS GT3 race car shown at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, the revised R8 looks more aggressive than ever. It’s also significantly more powerful than before, with up to 30 horsepower added to the 5.2-liter V-10 engine. It’s also the first R8 to surpass 200 mph in every trim, including Spyder models. Although it was originally believed that Audi might add a new GT model to the lineup, the sportier car spotted testing in Europe turned out to be just the regular facelift. 2020 Audi A1 Allroad
Audi looks set to increase the number of Allroad models it sells with its smallest offering, the A1 Allroad, which was caught testing under camouflage around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The car in the photos is definitely an A1, but it has a raised ground clearance and what looks like plastic cladding around the lower part of its body.
It will be based on the second generation A1 which debuted this year at the Paris motor show and if we look at what Audi has chosen to hide with camo are a different front grille and bumper, as well as the rear bumper.
2018 Audi Q8 by ABT
The Audi Q8, another one in a long line of coupe-bodied luxury SUVs, was launched this year and has now been given the ABT Sportsline treatment. The end result is subtle but, as a house tuner for Audi, ABT knew how to churn out every ounce of performance out of the Q8.
The Q8, which is categorized as a mid-size luxury coupe SUV, is an alternative to the Cayenne or the X7. It’s the first model designed by Audi’s new chief of design, Marc Lichte, and arrived with a choice of two V-6 engines: a 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged gas engine and a 3.0-liter diesel.
Now, ABT took it upon themselves to improve, aesthetically as well as mechanically, the Q8. What they’ve unveiled is a great example of the ’less is more’ ideology: the car doesn’t have a widebody or particularly flashy add-ons but makes a strong statement nonetheless. Having said that, ABT announced that a new aero kit for the Q8 is in the works.

It’s been over three years since Audi revealed its second generation Q7 at the 2015 Detroit auto show, so a facelift or refresh is definitely in order. A camouflaged Q7 prototype was spotted by our spies with many parts of its body hidden, but it does serve as proof that Audi is testing an updated version of the model.
Camouflage obscures the entire font, rear, and lower end of the prototype, and there’s also a cover on the dashboard too. It may look pretty much the same as the current Q7, but there are subtle detail changes and, in fact, this particular prototype may not have all the changes planned for the Q7 refresh.
Test Drive - An Honest Take on the 2019 Audi RS3 Sportback
An Audi RS3 Sportback test drive is like the holy grail for hot hatchback lovers. I visited that holy grail of mine, and boy was I overwhelmed by the experience.
As you probably figured out if you read about my time at the Continental #blackchili Driving Experience, I had a unique chance to drive a number of cool cars at an exclusive vlogger/blogger/influencer event organized by Continental AG in Nice. It was called the #blackchili Driving Experience, and I had a chance to drive the Audi RS3 Sportback there on a fantastic route that spanned for 40 or 50 miles. No, that is not enough for a proper test drive, nor was the time spent with the Audi RS3 Sportback enough for a proper assessment of its abilities or its virtues. But it was enough for one thing - to teach me that this hot-hatch is a freaking monster, an animal only a few could tame, and the biggest sleeper I have ever driven.
2019 Audi R8 V10 Plus Coupe Competition Package
It’s time for another Audi R8 Special Edition. The new SE, called the R8 V10 Plus Competition Package, receives a bundle of parts from the Audi Sports bin, included in part to help the supercar shed weight and improve its aerodynamic performance. Production is limited to just ten units, all of which are earmarked specifically for the U.S. market. Each unit of the R8 V10 Plus Competition Package costs $237,350. The special edition R8 arrives in dealerships in November 2018.
