The 2020 Chevy C8 Corvette Can Hold Its Own Against the Porsche 911 and Audi R8
The mid-engine C8 Corvette has literally been decades in the making. When it arrived for the 2021 model year, the Corvette found itself competing against some new competition that at one time were little more than distant competitors. The Corvette name has always been associated with performance, but now that it has to take on a long list of European competitors, we – like the rest of you – have been wondering just how well the C8 can hold up. Now, thanks to a new video from Sport Auto, we can see how the C8 fairs against the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 V-10 on the track, and you have to see what happens.
An Audi RS3 Rolling Down the Road, On Fire Is the Scariest Thing You’ll See This Week
Street racing can be fun and exhilarating, but it can also be dangerous. It only takes one thing to go wrong for Murphy’s Law to kick in, and the last place you’d want to be in is inside a car when that happens. A pair of street racers found that out first-hand when the heavily souped-up 1,100-horsepower Audi RS3 they were in caught fire while they were running at 150 mph.
Worse, the fire quickly burned through the RS3’s brake lines and e-brakes and the drag parachute couldn’t be deployed, leaving them in a state of helplessness as thick smoke started to come out of the A/C vents. Yes, street racing can be fun and exhilarating, but it only takes one thing to turn that rush into all-around terror.
This Video of the Audi RS6 Is Better Than Anything Audi’s Marketing Division Has Ever Done
This promotional video of the new Audi RS6 Avant comes by way of Australian publication The Lowdown, which specializes in automotive lifestyle. The agency got its hands on an all-new 2020 Audi RS6 Avant, and, in tune with its creative roots, proceeded to create a 105-second promotional video starring the high-powered German wagon.
The result is a video that’s going to leave you breathless. At the very least, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better one that Audi has done in recent memory.
Is There Anything Better Than the Sound of This Five-Cylinder Audi Coupe at Goodwood?
If you’re anything like us, then you’re surely missing a day well spent near and around the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb. Ask anybody who attended the show even once and you’ll know that the smell of gasoline and the eardrum-battering engine sounds go hand in hand with the amazing stories each car has to tell. This Nothelle-Kamei Audi Coupe from 1981 is the perfect example.
Here’s How a 2013 Audi RS5 Stacks Up Against a 2020 Audi RS5 Sportback
Audi RS5Bridging the generation gap between two performance-focused models, one that’s older and one that’s newer, is never an easy task for carmakers. The newcomer is expected to be better in every aspect, but what happens when the old one is still capable of exciting the senses?
Throttle House’s new versus old Audi RS5 head-to-head makes for a neat case study.
1,300-HP Audi TT RS Is Faster Than Your Dream Car
These days, anything’s possible in the world of tuning. But you already knew that. What you didn’t know was that someone built a 1,300-horsepower Audi TT RS that can pull off mad half-mile runs.
We bet the name Don Octane doesn’t ring too many bells. Are we right? Well, get ready to put this German tuner on your follow list because their Audi TT is dubbed as one of the fastest in Europe. And there’s proof to that.
The Audi RS 5 Won’t Make a Fool of Itself in Front of the Porsche 911
These two cars come from the same, larger automotive group umbrella, yet their personalities are so different that a drag race between them almost doesn’t make any sense.
Carwow, however, pitted the Audi RS 5 Sportback and the Porsche 911 Carrera S against each other and we are glad they did - and so must be Audi - because the race shows just how quick the RS 5 is in the company of a thoroughbred sports car like the Neunelfer, which also happens to pack a vicious Launch Control feature.
Even if you’re not into football, there’s one thing we can all agree on – the Superbowl usually hosts some pretty awesome car commercials. While there are plenty of commercials during the big game (they cost huge money, by the way) none of the companies that partake in the advertising craze seem to be as competitive as automotive companies. It’s almost like there’s a constant battle for all of them to one-up each other, and it ends up being pretty awesome for the rest of us.
It’s not often that advertisements come off as something we’re excited about, but this is one of those cases. So, with the big game just days away (kickoff happens on February 2,) we thought we’d compile all of the Superbowl LIV commercials released thus far. This includes commercials from Hyundai, Audi, Genesis, Kia, and – believe it or not – Porsche. The latter on that list hasn’t advertised during the big game in decades, so that’s kind of a big deal. Anyway, go ahead and scroll on down to get a sneak peak at Superbowl LIV’s car commercials.
New Audi R8 Meets Old Audi R8 and The Real Winners Are Us
How would you describe the first-generation Audi R8? While you’re finding your words, know that Jacky Ickx called it “the best handling road car today [i.e. back when it was introduced in 200]” yet we believe the old R8’s character is better highlighted not in front of its rivals and certainly not by itself, but in the presence of the current Audi R8.
Enter Carfection and their latest video, a petrolhead-centric masterpiece that looks at the first and second iterations of one of the most recognizable and desirable supercars to ever be born. Let’s get to it, then.
Throwback: Crossfit Santa Gets a New Ride This Christmas
Christmas is just round the corner and we can see a lot of holiday-themed commercials on television and over the internet. In fact, even automakers get creative during this season and some of them stand out. This particular video by Audi is here to put people into a festive mood by featuring a crowd-pulling celeb – Santa Claus.
Did Audi Understate Performance Figures of the 2020 RS7 Sportback?
The new 2020 Audi RS7 Sportback was just announced at the Frankfurt Auto Show, and it’s already starting to get some major media attention. That attention, right now, is on the fact that Audi may have intentionally understated the RS7’s performance. To what extent? Well, the guys at Auditography decided to find out for themselves.
Video: 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Vs. 2019 Audi Q8 - Luxury Coupe SUV Showdown
Stuttgart just unveiled the latest addition to its Cayenne SUV lineup - the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe, which brings all the speed and finery of the standard Cayenne, but with a lower, sportier roofline. This thing certainly looks like its got what it takes to be a success in the segment, but how does it compare to its German sibling from the Four Rings, a.k.a. the 2019 Audi Q8?
Watch Audi Drive the E-Tron SUV up an 85-Percent Ski Slope
If you’re an Audi fan, and you’re getting up there in age, you probably remember when the Audi 100 CS Turbo Quattro sedan managed to climb the Kaipola Olympic Ski Jumping Hill in Finland. If you remember that, you remember it didn’t do it without at least a little help – outside of its all-wheel-drive system, it also had studded winter tires. If you weren’t around to see this happen yourself, we’ve included the video a little further below. For now, however, you’re probably wondering why this is relevant today – after all, that happened some 30 years ago. Well, it’s relevant because Audi is back to its old gimmicks yet again, this time climbing the Mausefalle slope of the Streif in Kitzbuhel, Austria with the all-new Audi e-Tron EV. The catch? This slope sits at an 85-percent grade, which means it’s nearly vertical.
Audi’s Cashew Commercial for the 2019 Super Bowl Gives Us a Look at the E-Tron GT
Super Bowl LIII is kicking off this weekend, and with it a long list of fresh commercials. Audi’s getting in on the action with a commercial it’s calling “Cashew,” featuring the German automaker’s latest and greatest all-electric concept car.
Updated 03/01/2019: The original post erroneously identified the "chest thurst" first-aid technique performed during the ad as a "Heimlich maneuver." The reference has been deleted.
This Audi Christmas Ad Is The Best Thing You’ll Watch This Holiday Season
Christmas is almost here, and automakers are rolling out holiday-themed commercials for the public. Although the main motive is to market the brand and the cars (obviously!), there are a few commercials which we remember for much longer. One such commercial, which is one of my all-time favorites, is this one by Audi for Christmas 2017 that features the RS3 and the RS7.
Santa goes through a makeover this Christmas thanks to Audi: Video
The 2019 Audi A1 Looks Good on Paper, but How Good is it in the Real World?
Audi is hot on the trail of the MINI Cooper with its all-new A1 supermini, a radical design departure over the outgoing model, which is a bit unusual. The manufacturer usually very conservatively evolves its models from one generation to the next, but the new A1 is quite revolutionary compared to its predecessor. With that in mind, how does the new A1 fare in the hands of those who have driven it?
What’s the Audi e-Tron GT Concept like to drive?
Audi stunned crowds at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show when it unveiled the close-to-production e-Tron GT concept, a vehicle that previews a sporty, low-slung, all-electric sedan. Even more surprising is that it let certain journalists have a try at driving it but, since it’s not yet homologated for road use, this was done under escort by local police.
Reviewers Try Out The New All-Electric 2019 Audi e-Tron Quattro SUV
The luxury electric crossover and SUV market just got a new and serious contender, in the form of the new Audi e-Tron high-rider which was officially launched not too long ago. Journos have tried it out and, since this is an Audi we’re talking about, their first impressions of the car are a bit predictable. What we didn’t expect, however, is to hear complaints about the E-Tron Quattro’s performance.
Tesla powertrain and batteries completely transform this Audi RS5
The Audi RS5, built between 2010 and 2015, was powered by a screaming, high-revving, V-8 engine and was widely acknowledged as being one of the best of its kind. However, what do you do when your car doesn’t have an engine or its engine is junk and you need to replace it with something else? How about you slot in a Tesla motor and battery pack to see how that transforms the car.
Watch an Old-School Audi S4 with Bugatti-Like Power Make the 1/2-Mile Scream for Mercy
The Audi S4 B5 is old, but gold. Not only does it cost a small fortune if it’s in good condition, but some owners do tend to tune it to insanity regardless of its status.
How insane is this one here?
rivaling insane. I’m not freaking joking as just the other day an old Audi S4 B5 was filmed in Germany rushing to hit the half-mile mark. Clawing its way with all four tires that barely keep it on the ground and the straight line, this particular Audi S4 B5 has a masterfully tuned engine that delivers an insane 1,442 horsepower. Or apparently, 1,442 horsepower, because my reason does not allow me to believe everything I hear on the Internet.
Nevertheless, the half-mile run during which this wagon achieved 190 mph suggests that 1,442 horsepower may just be right.
Watch this Insane Audi RS6 Hit 204 MPH From a Dig: Video
The Audi RS6 Avant is a 605-horsepower machine of epic proportions. Unfortunately, the RS6 Avant isn’t available in the U.S. That leaves us in a bit of an emotional pickle when we see videos like this. For the record, the Audi RS6 in this video isn’t your standard RS6. It’s been tuned to produce a staggering 1,012 horsepower, and as you might expect, it showed out in ways that only a 1,012 horsepower Audi RS6 can.
