Bentley is adding a new member to its growing lineup of exclusive bespoke creations. The newest addition is called the Continental GTC Equestrian Edition. Limited to just a single unit — yes, there’s only one in the world — the Continental GTC Equestrian Edition makes for a suitable follow-up to the outlandish Bacalar roadster that the boys from Crewe, England unveiled earlier this month. Though not as over-the-top as the Bacalar, the Continental GTC Equestrian Edition is a sultry one-off that draws inspiration from the popular hobby among the rich and famous. It features extraordinary and exclusive details that no other Continental GTC carries, justifying its billing as a true one-of-one creation. The Bentley Continental GTC Equestrian Edition is already spoken for, and, as you might expect, the one-off model was specially commissioned by a client who’s fond of thoroughbreds.

- Exclusive Spruce Green paint finish - Blackline Specification package comes standard - Gloss black accents around the grille, bezels, and exhaust tips - 22-inch gloss black wheels

The special edition Equestrian Edition is based on the Bentley Continental GTC, a model that’s not exactly lacking in exclusive touches. But Bentley’s definition of “special edition” is far different from what we’re used to, more so when it’s a one-off model like this one. Saying that the Equestrian Edition is “special” in the context of traditional parlance is underselling the work that Bentley and its in-house personalization division, Mulliner, put into creating this one-off masterpiece. The main highlight here is the exclusive Spruce Green prain.

What's Special About the Bentley Continental GTC Equestrian Edition's Paint?

This one is called Spruce, a custom shade of green that bears some similarities to the famous British Racing Green paint scheme. The Spruce paint isn’t as striking to the eyes as British Racing Green, but the underlying quality of class and refinement is present the moment you see the one-off Continental GTC. It certainly helps that the model wears the color naturally, as if the paint was created specifically for the Continental GTC Equestrian Edition.

Complementing the special Spruce green paint are black accents scattered throughout. The accents around the grille, bezels and exhaust outlets are all part of Bentley’s Blackline Specification option package. The way the details work around each other seamlessly is one of the Equestrian Edition’s most striking qualities. The green-and-black look creates an aesthetic balance that’s easy on the eyes, more so when you add the matching 22-inch gloss black wheels into the equation.

For an exclusive one-off creation, the Bentley Continental GTC Equestrian Edition certainly looks the part of a one-of-one.

Interior

- Saddle Brown leather on the seats - Cumbrian Green leather on a lot of surface areas in the cabin - Burr Walnut wood veneer on the dashboard and other places - Diamond-quilted tweed fabric on the doors - Horse and rider silhouette on the seat headrests

Does the Bentley Continental GTC Equestrian Edition Have A Custom Interior?

As you might expect, the interior of the Bentley Continental GTC Equestrian Edition is awash in equestrian-themed touches. The upholstery, for example, is dressed to the nines in Saddle Brown leather because why wouldn’t it be?

It’s not all Saddle Brown leather, either. Certain areas of the cabin — the top of the dashboard, center armrest, and the steering wheel — are covered in Cumbrian Green leather. The green and brown leather treatment is a tried-and-tested aesthetic look that a lot of high-end fashion brands typically use in their products. Birds of the same feather flock together it seems.

In addition to all the high-quality leather goodness, the Continental GTC Equestrian Edition also comes with diamond-quilted tweet fabric, a horse and rider silhouette on the seat headrests, and a Burr Walnut wood veneer on the face of the dashboard, center stack, and console.

On the tech side of things, the one-off Continental GTC Equestrian Edition comes with Bentley’s Touring and City Specification package. This optional package is loaded in driver-assistance technology. And by loaded, I mean loaded.

-* Lane assist

-* Adaptive cruise control

-* Head-up display

-* Top-view camera

-* Traffic sign recognition

-* Pedestrian warning

-* Reversing traffic warning

-* Automatic dimming mirrors

-* Power-opening trunk

That’s a loaded options package on a one-off Bentley that’s already loaded in a lot of fronts.

0Does the Bentley Continental GTC Equestrian Edition come with any power and performance upgrades?0}

- Powered by Bentley's new 6.0-liter twin-turbo W-12 engine - Produces 626 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque - 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds - Top speed of 203 mph

This unit, which was designed, developed, and hand-built in Bentley’s home base, can churn out 626 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. That output represents an increase of 40 horsepower and a whopping 133 pound-feet of torque more than what the previous 6.0-liter twin-turbo W-12 was capable of producing.

That said, notice that those figures are on par with the standard output of Bentley’s all-new twin-turbo W-12. So, no the Continental GTC Equestrian Edition does not have any power upgrades. The unit remains in stock form.

If you’re disappointed, you shouldn’t be. Bentley’s eight-speed dual-clutch transmission sends all that power to the wheels, allowing the GTC to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds before peaking at a top speed of 203 mph.

For a car that weighs a smidge under 5,000 pounds to hit that kind of speed is impressive in its own right. Make that car an authentic one-off model and you have something special in your hands.

Final Thoughts

It’s typical of Bentley, isn’t it? The British automaker known for developing some of the most luscious and mouth-watering luxury cars in the world has never been shy about touting its wares. That’s especially true when a deep-pocketed customer comes asking for a unique special edition that will carry enough exclusive touches to justify the amount that’s going to exchange hands as part of the transaction. The Bentley Continental GTC Equestrian Edition is the latest in a long line of Bentley models to be bestowed the “one-of-one” label, and it fits the mold of one. From the exclusive paint to the generous use of fancy leather to all the optional packages that are included in the model, the Continental GTC Equestrian Edition is a prime example of a one-of-one that’s done the way it’s supposed to be done.
