No doubt, after using God-knows-how-many-sleighs and eight burned out reindeers since time immemorial, dear pal and Christmas superstar Santa Claus is turning to a more traditional mode of transportation this holiday season.

Santa is expected to ride in style behind the wheel of the Reindeer Eight, a customized version of the Bentley Flying Spur that the British luxury car manufacturer is showing off ahead of Santa’s journey around the world. Dressed as you’d expect for a Christmas-themed Bentley, the Reindeer Eight is a proper homage to the most wonderful time of the year and the man largely responsible for making our kids stay up late at night on Christmas Eve.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, isn’t it? Normally, that’d be true, but since we’re still wrapped in the cudgels of the coronavirus pandemic, this holiday season isn’t expected to be as merry and joyful. Thankfully, automakers like Bentley are undeterred in trying to liven up the spirit of the season. The Bentley Flying Spur Reindeer Eight is one of those special edition models that you don’t see coming, but are nonetheless excited about when it debuts.

Officially, the Flying Spur Reindeer Eight is dressed in Cricket Bauble, which is apparently a deep shade of red that the Flying Spur wears oh-so naturally. The luxury four-door also comes with gold trim and gold strips, the latter of which runs down the hood and straight into a 3D-printed hood ornament.

The Flying Spur Reindeer Eight also sits on a set of 22-inch gold wheels, proving once again that Santa can be flamboyant when he wants to be. A slew of carbon fiber parts is also included in the special edition Flying Spur, as is the eye-catching diamond pattern spanning the lower side of the sedan’s body.

The Flying Spur Reindeer Eight’s interior is also neatly dressed in Cricket Bauble. Gold stitching throughout the cabin not only serves as a nice contrast to the deep red shade, but it’s also consistent with the aesthetic formula of the exterior. The interior does have a few exclusive bits, none more prominent than the white inlays on the dashboard depicting a nighttime scene of Santa’s stomping grounds in the North Pole.

A few easter eggs — or is it Christmas eggs? — are also found inside, including the sound of sleigh bells ringing when the engine start button is pressed. The infotainment system also comes with Santa's naughty and nice list. Supposedly, that list is integrated into the navigation system so Santa knows which addresses to hit up and which ones to ignore

Is it more powerful than eight reindeerpower?

The Flying Spur Reindeer is still potent in its own right, thanks to a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that produces a stout 542 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. Without any of Santa’s holiday bags, the Flying Spur Reindeer Eight can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just four seconds and hit a top speed of 198 mph on land.

How much is the Bentley Flying Spur Reindeer Eight?

The Bentley Flying Spur Reindeer Eight isn’t for sale, nor is it going to be available anytime soon. Bentley hasn’t said what it plans to do with the Reindeer Eight past this holiday season.

Even if you can’t get your hands on the one-off Reindeer Eight, you can still score a 2021 Bentley Flying Spur. Pricing for Bentley’s new flagship model starts at around $215,000.
