Bentley

Thanks to multiple wins at Le Mans and a rather consistent race history, some think of Bentley as a strong arm of performance, but Bentley doesn't offer pure speed machines like it once did. Some of its models perform admirably well, but the company's road-going cars are more in tune with opulence and luxuriousness than they are going fast and performing around the track. Bentley has been under the ownership of the Volkswagen Group (VAG) since 1998 and has continued to see a positive increase In sales performance from its sedans and coupes. More recently, Bentley introduced its first SUV, the Bentayga, and it too has received a lot of positive attention. In terms of price and luxuriousness, Bentley sits near the top of the food chain, competing primarily against Rolls-Royce.

What is the Least Expensive Bentley?

As the producer of excessively luxurious vehicles, Bentley has a lineup of just four models, the cheapest of which is the Bentley Bentayga with a starting price of $165,000. The cheapest car in Bentley’s lineup is the Flying Spur which sports a sticker price of $189,000. Keep in mind, however, that Bentley sells few models at this price as the options lists are typically huge, and end pricing can skyrocket if you start checking option boxes like crazy.

What is the Sportiest Bentley?

The Bentley Continental is the sportiest model in the lineup thanks to styling that is almost like a blend of DNA that includes BMW and Mercedes along with traditional Bentley Styling Cues. In 2019, during the Pikes Pike Hillclimb, the Continental GT became the fastest production car to climb to the top of the hill with a time of 10:18.488 over the 12.42-mile course. It beat out the current record holder, a Porsche 911 Turbo S by more than eight seconds. The Bentley Continental sits in the middle of the lineup with a starting price of $218,400.

What is the Most Popular Bentley?

It’s hard to say what Bentley’s most popular model really is, but with the introduction of the new Bentayga, it is probably the thrown holder thanks to the mass interest in SUVs. It starts out at $165,000 but can easily be configured to more than $200,000.

What is the Most Expensive Bentley?

The most expensive Bentley is Mulsanne, a replacement for the Arnage and the and Azure that hit the market back in 2010. Despite its age, it’s nearly $100,000 more expensive than the Continental GT with a starting price of $304,670.

What is the Fastest Bentley?

While the Bentley Continental GT is the fastest Bentley in production and can hit 60 mph in 3.6 seconds on the way to a top speed of 207 mph. However, the Flying Spur, which is a less-sporty, four-door version of the Continental, has the same power output and can hit the same 207-mph top speed. The only difference in performance is that the Flying Spur’s torque doesn’t kick in until later in the powerband and that, paired with the extra weight, makes it 0.1-seconds slower to 60 mph.

Are Bentleys Reliable?

Bentley doesn’t sell huge amounts of cars, so there’s no real reliability ranking out there. However, a survey ran in 2015 suggested that cars produced by Bentley are actually the least reliable, and Porsche doesn’t come off much better. According to the source, Bentleys often have an average repair price of around $678 with the highest cost to repair (in that survey) being $8,406. The automaker was ranked at the bottom of the list while Japanese and American automakers found themselves toward the top. So, despite the high price tag of all models in the lineup, you may want to plan for high repair costs down the road.
