The neighborhood of Beverly Hills in Los Angeles doesn’t lack in its share of fancy sports cars, luxury cars and supercars. On just about every corner you’ll find one of these vehicles, just like luxury automakers that have dealerships scattered all over the surrounding areas.
One of them is Bentley Beverly Hills, and recently they came out with a limited edition Continental GTC that’s fixing to have an owner whisk it away. The car has been distinctively painted with custom Tiffany Celeste Pearlescent paint that we haven’t seen on a Bentley before. Needless to say, the finish looks downright stunning.
Adding to the visual visage of the limited-edition Continental GTS with a choice of either liquid-silver or matte-black-finished 22-inch CEC C881 wheels wrapped in a set of Continental Extreme Contact ultra-high performance all-season tires.
No performance upgrades were given to this limited-edition Continental GTC, so expect to see the same 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that produces 500 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. The engine is definitely one that should give the looks of the limited edition Continental GTC a suitable technical partner.
The U.S. has long been Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, and Bentley’s largest market partly due to its massive population, but mainly because Americans really love their exotic cars. However, just last year China overtook the U.S. as Lamborghini’s biggest market, and became Ferrari’s second largest market. If you want further evidence of just how popular luxurious cars are becoming in China, then take a look at the title.
Yep, China has become Bentley’s largest market after a massive increase in sales in the first quarter of this year. An incredible 578 Bentley models have been sold in China thus far, while ‘only’ 450 units were sold in the U.S. However, sales in the U.S. did grow by 40% from this time last year, so that just goes to show how incredible the Chinese market currently is.
It’s literally come out of the shadows in the past few years to become the focal point of dozens of automotive manufacturers. However, with China’s economy beginning to slow, Bentley’s chief operating officer, Christophe Georges believes these figures won’t be maintained stating, “The Chinese and U.S. markets are both strong. I don’t see (China’s lead) as a permanent situation.”
One of the key reasons why Georges believes the U.S. will remain Bentley’s largest market in the long run is due to new showrooms being constructed in Nashville, Thousand Oaks, and Charlotte. Furthermore, Bentley is expected to launch a brand new SUV in the coming three years, and while the Chinese do indeed love their SUVs, they cannot match the love for them that Americans have.
After releasing a video showing off the sound of Bentley’s new V8 engine, the company has officially announced details on the new Continental GT V8 before its debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 9, 2012. The new 4.0 liter, twin turbocharged V8 engine will be offered for both the CT coupe and GTC convertible models and will go on sale in the summer of 2012.
The new V8 engine delivers 500 HP at 6000 rpm and 487 lb-ft of torque available between 1700 to 5000 rpm. The models equipped with this new engine will be offered with a new close-ratio 8-speed automatic transmission and will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds, while top speed will go up to 180 mph. Fuel economy and CO2 emissions have been improved significantly, but official figures will be released in early 2012. Bentley has promised that when equipped with the new V8 engine, the Continental models will be capable of traveling over 500 miles (800km) on a single tank of fuel.
"With the new 4.0 liter V8 engine we are widening the appeal of the latest generation of Continentals, introducing a completely new driving experience. The new engine will have all the exhilarating power, drama and performance you would expect from a V8 engine sporting the famous Bentley wings, effortlessly delivered with our characteristic ‘wave of torque’. This is complemented by innovative powertrain technology that delivers exceptional fuel efficiency and emissions," said Wolfgang Dürheimer, Chairman and Chief Executive, Bentley Motors.
UPDATE 02/22/2012: Bentley has unveiled a series of new images of the Continental GT V8. Enjoy!
There are two things you need to know about 14-year old Maddy Wagner: she loves supercars and she has autism.
The former may sound trivial compared to the latter, but Maddy doesn’t think of herself any less even with her condition. She has her dad to thank for that. Her father said that it was important for “Maddy not be defined by her autism. I’ve taught both my kids that they can accomplish whatever they believe they can accomplish. Yes, she’s autistic, but in every other way, she’s just like every other teenage girl. I hope people don’t see her as being autistic but rather as being a beautiful young lady who can accomplish anything she sets her mind to.”
And what Maddy set her mind to was a fascination for exotics and one of her holiday wishes was to get a chance to ride in one.
Last week, her wish became a reality, except that instead of riding in one supercar, Maddy was able to sit shotgun in 13 of them. From Bentleys, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and even a Caterham, Maddy’s holiday wish came true with the help of some selfless supercar owners.

Everybody knows that October is ’Breast Cancer Awareness Month’ and as such, a lot of people pay tribute to the cause in a variety of ways imaginable.
In the case of Bentley, that tribute comes in the form of a one-off pink Bentley Continental GT that has been codenamed ’Cure’.
the special edition Continental GT was commissioned by Bentley San Diego in California, a luxury automotive sales arm of Symbolic Motor Car Company in La Jolla, California, as an auction piece to contribute awareness to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure breast cancer foundation. Decked in a custom "Passion Pink" finish, the one-off luxury car is currently on sale with the proceeds already earmarked for the foundation as it continues it battle to fight breast cancer through continued research and prevention.
The one-off ’Cure’ Continental GT comes with a factory standard 6.0-liter W12 engine that produces 576 horsepower and 516 lb/ft of torque with a 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph.
The car is unique to its kind not just because of the color it comes in, but more so because of the immense contribution the buyer will be indirectly giving to the Susan G Komen For The Cure foundation.
If there was ever a time to feel good about buying a car that costs $190,000, this is it.
As the English philosopher Francis Bacon once said, "Nothing is pleasant that is not spiced with variety." Most car manufacturers, after efforts like the 2012 Bentley Continental GT, would have been happier to call it a day. However, Bentley looked at this automotive Adonis and decided "everything can be improved." This style of constant tweaking has resulted in multiple versions of the GT Continental. The first of these "tweaks" for the 2012 Bentley Continental GT is the new GT Speed.
This Adonis in an Armani suit will be given a shot in the arm. The previous GT Speed had 9% more power and 15% more torque than the base GT Continental. If this same increase applies to the new GT Speed, the W-12 will be pump out around 621 horses and 590 ft/lbs of torque. This would install the GT Speed as a next door neighbor to the top of the line Continental Supersports.

In the wake of what has been a busy week covering the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, we kind of left out a few important things taking shape this week, including the latest episode of National Geographic’s "Ultimate Factories".
The show, which actually airs tonight, will feature the latest handiwork of one of the world’s most exclusive and luxurious car brands, Bentley and their flagship luxury car, the Mulsanne.
Far and away, the Bentley Mulsanne is one of the most detailed cars to be built these days. Taking up well over nine weeks to build this precious masterpiece, the Mulsanne is finely-manicured to and designed with the greatest of care by the engineers working at the company’s production facility. One of the key ingredients that make up this world-class luxury car is the fine leather that’s personally hand-sewn by the people at Bentley Woodshop.
Seeing as the Mulsanne has over 300 wood panels and one panel takes over an hour to fully craft, you can imagine just how far and extensive Bentley goes to ensure that their customers receive nothing but the best in the Mulsanne.
To get you amped up for tonight’s episode, you can check out the teaser video National Geographic made.
A Bentley Continental GT is a car that doesn’t need any fine-tuning because, by itself, it’s already good enough to be considered a prized vehicle. But every so often, a tuning house tries to up the ante by giving a car the stature of the Continental GT even more reason to be beloved.
That’s what Platinum Collision Center did with this particular Bentley, a Continental GT Mulliner. Calling it the Widebody GT Premier4509 Platinum Edition, PCC gave the car a complete widebody overhaul, complete with a new front bumper, a rear bumper with a new diffuser, side skirts, a new hood, a rear wing, and a set of of new wheels. The interior was also given doses of carbon fiber, including on the entire center console.
For now, the boys at PCC only gave the Continental GT a GT Haus-sourced MEISTERSCHAFT full exhaust system, although they did say that they’re going to upgrade the car with turbos and re-program the ECU in time for the car’s appearance at the LA Auto Show.
We’ll give you more details about this car as soon as information becomes available.
Bentley is embarking on a unique trans-atlantic trip to the US with a tour that’s going to cover over 8,000 miles of American soil from Beverly Hills, California all the way to Miami, Florida.
The five-week tour, which is being called the Bentley Heritage Roadshow, will feature a unique collection of classic Bentley parts – over 1,000 of them if you can believe that – that came all the way from the company’s headquarters in Crewe, England. The range of these items will be on display for all Bentley enthusiasts and covers a wide range of items from Bentley, including engine blocks, hard-to-find spare parts, and yes, even owner’s manuals. Apparently, those manuals of those classic Bentley’s are worth a whole lot more than those that come with your HDTVs.
There’s a boatload of items and parts that you can find at the Bentley Heritage Roadshow and if you’re lucky enough to live near an area where the show is going to, you better drop everything you’re doing and grab this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see over 1,000 of these rare and available parts.

Bentley Brooklands was unveiled last year at the Geneva Auto Show and it was a big success ever since. The luxury Coupe is now also available on the US market. First model has been purchased for $450,000 at a charity auction held during the 2008 Naples Winter Wine Festival.
The Brooklands is the coupe version of the Arnage sedan and the Azure convertible. Larger than a Continental GT, the Brooklands was designed to blend great performance and unbridled opulence and is created for an exclusive clientele. The Brooklands takes its design cues from the GT, one of the most successful cars for Bentley since its unveiling in 2004. The luxury Coupe is powered by a Crewe-built V8 engine that delivers 530 hp and a peak torque of 774 lbs-ft.
Sales on the US market will begin in the second quarter this year.
