Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away, which means crazy people everywhere are preparing to get up excessively early and stand in line freezing just to save a few bucks thanks to all the seemingly amazing Black Friday sales. For some, Black Friday is a good way to get a jump on Christmas shopping. For others, it’s the day they finally get to land that new big screen in their living room. On the other side of the fence, however, Black Friday can be a great day to skip the mall altogether and look into buying a new car instead. Not everybody can afford to do such a thing so close to the holidays, but there are some really great deals to be had as dealers try to move their remaining stock of 2016 vehicles and get an early jump on selling 2017 models.

Deals include things like cash back, lower interest rates, and other incentives that generally aren’t available any other time of year. Nissan, for instance, is offering up to $10,825 leasing cash on a new lease of the 2016 Nissan Leaf, or $4,000 cash back and interest-free financing for six years if you prefer to purchase instead. Meanwhile, over at Cadillac, you can plant your posterior in a 2016 Cadillac XTS with interest-free financing of six years or $5,500 cash back. Ford has a similar deal for the Ford Fusion Energi that will get you $6,500 cash back or $3,750 cash back and free financing for six years.

These are just a few of the deals, but as you can see, they run pretty deep when it comes to 2016 model. And, in case you are in the market or will be if you see a deal that you can’t resist, we’ve compiled some of the deals available this year in our car guide below. Grab a fresh cup of coffee and check it all out.

2016 Ford F-150

The F-150 saw its 13th generational shift for the 2015 model year. The biggest change to the new-gen model was most definitely the shift from a steel to aluminum body structure. In fact, the only steel in the body itself is the firewall – everything else is aluminum. Ford didn’t go too cheap, however, and maintained a mostly steel frame with the new generation. The new aluminum body certainly had some benefits, though, as the F-150 shed some 750 pounds. The base engine for the F-150 is now a 3.5-liter V-6, but there’s also a 2.7-liter Ecoboost V-6, 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6, a 5.0-liter V-8, and a high-output 3.5-liter V-6 that is found primarily in the F-150 Raptor.

So what’s this great deal we’re talking about? Well, you can get into a 2016 model with $6,500 cash back or $3,050 cash back and zero interest for the first 36 months of the financing contract. And, even though there are 2017 models on the lot, this is one of those times where you’ll be just as happy with the outgoing 2016 models as there was next to no change between 2016 and 2017 model years. Pricing for the 2016 F-150 currently starts out at $26,540.

The F-250 and F-350 Super Duty didn't get the same generational treatment as the F-150 back in 2015. The new-generation Super Duty didn't come until Ford ushered in the 2017 model year. Offered with just two engines available. a 6.2-liter gasoline engine or a 6.7-liter PowerStroke V-8, the 2016 Super Duty can pull up to 32,000 pounds when equipped with the Power Stroke, but even if you go with the gas-powered V-8, you can still pull more than 16,000 pounds, so it's a win-win either way..

For the F-250/F-350 Super Duty, you can get up to $5,250 cash back or $2,000 cashback and 36 months of interest-free financing. Considering that the Super Duty is all-new for 2017, you can probably squeeze a better deal out of your local dealer on a 2016 model since they are trying to move them as quickly as possible to make room for more 2017 models.

The Chevy Silverado went through its most recent generational shift for the 2014 model year. Complete with a new body, GM also offered the Silverado with three new engines that all delivered more power and better fuel economy. The new look of the Silverado brought it up to par with other offerings from Ford and Ram while the inside was more inviting and comfortable than ever. 2016 Silverado Double Cab models come standard with the 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V-6, but there is also a 5.3-liter V-8 and 6.2-liter V-8 available as an option. Shifting duties for the smaller engines are handled by a six-speed automatic while the 6.2-liter V-8 gets an eight-speed automatic. All models can be had in two-wheel or four-wheel drive.

Chevy’s deal for the double cab this year includes up to 20 percent of MRSP cash back on select remaining Silverado Double Cabs in stock (clearly, they are trying to move old stock) or free financing for 72 months on select 2016 Double Cab Silverados in stock. The 2016 Double cab has an entry MSRP of $27,195 at the time of this writing, so the cash back option would net you at least $5,439 and entry-level models. Higher-end models will obviously have a higher MSRP and ultimately more cash back.

The Ram 1400 saw its last generational shift for the 2010 model year and went through a mild facelift for the 2014 model year. As such, a next-gen model should make its debut in a couple of years, but for now the 2016 light-duty, quad-cab models are getting a pretty big discount off of MSRP. Light-duty models of the Ram 1500 Quad cab come standard with a 3.6-liter V-6, while a 5.7-liter Hemi or 3.0-liter Ecodiesel V-6 is optional. Chances are, however, for Ram’s Black Friday deal, you’ll only find the remaining 2016 models in stock equipped with the standard engine.

*Based on Ram’s website, citing the optimal cab, bed, and gearing combination.

So, what’s Ram’s big deal? How does 20 percent off of MSRP sound? Yes, through November 30, Ram will dock 20 percent off of the MSRP of all 2016 Ram Light Duty Quad Cabs. Or, if you’re interested in a Big Horn Crew Cab model you can get $12,500 in total value on 2016 models or $8,500 in value on 2017 Big Horn Crew Cab models. To give you a bit of perspective, the Ram 1500 starts out at $26,145, so Ram will drop $5,229 off that price on entry-level models, dropping the price to just $20,916. Of course, more expensive light-duty models will get more savings, but that’s still not bad and on par with Ford and Chevy’s offerings this year.

Cadillac SRX

The Cadillac SRX was discontinued after the 2016 model year, as it was replaced by the Cadillac XT5. Just a few years into the second-gen model Cadillac decided to ax the 2.8-liter turbocharged mill, which means you’ll only find the few SRX models remaining with a 3.0-liter V-6 or a 3.6-liter V-6 with E85 Flex Fuel capability. Keep in mind, however, there were few 2016 models equipped with the 3.0-liter, so you’ll probably find the few remaining models with a 3.6-liter under the hood. The engine delivered 308 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. It managed to pull 17 mpg in the city, 24 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined. A six-speed automatic transmission handled shifting duties. Despite the fact that Cadillac is anxious to get this discontinued model off of its hands, the deals surrounding this model aren’t all that great, with Cadillac offering just $4,500 cash back or interest-free financing through 72 months.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Jeep Grand Cherokee entered its fourth generation for the 2011 model year and has soldiered on practically unchanged since. Offered with various engines depending on market and trim, the Grand Cherokee can be had with anywhere between 188 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque all the way up to 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque in SRT8 models. Starting around mid-2017 Jeep will begin offering a hellcat version with 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet, but that model is clearly not included as part of this year’s black Friday deals.

As for the deal being offered by Jeep this year, your options are a little limited. Jeep will offer you interest-free financing on Grand Cherokee Limited, Overland, and Trailhawk models. Or, you can opt for 20 percent off of MSRP on all Grand Cherokee models except for the Sport and Altitude trims. So, based on the MSRP deal, you could get at least $7,579 off a limited model, based on the MSRP of $37,895. More expensive models obviously get more off, with a model like Grand Cherokee Summit getting as much as $10,079 off its $50,396 MSP, bringing that baby down to as little as $40,000 before options, taxes, and delivery. Not bad!

Nissan Pathfinder

Nissan ushered in the fourth-gen Pathfinder for the 2013 model year. Once again supported by a unibody construction, the Pathfinder went through a minor update in 2014 and again in 2017. A new-gen model will be ushered in within the next couple of years, but until then, don’t expect the Pathfinder to change much in the meantime. The Standard engine option is a 3.5-liter that delivers 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. However, for the 2017 model year, the Pathfinder got a new version of that 3.5-liter that bumped the horsepower output up to 284 horsepower.

For this year’s Black Friday promotion, Nissan isn’t doing much, but 2016 models of the Pathfinder are being offered with up to $3,250 off of MSRP or $500 in bonus cash. Some sources claim that Nissan is offering interest-free financing for 36 months, but this is likely for the 2017 model as opposed to the 2016 model. In this case, check with your local dealer to verify their current promotions this month.

Lincoln MKC

The Lincoln MKC is technically a baby, being introduced has a few years ago as a 2015 model. But, don’t let that fool you because the MKC is nothing more than a glorified, more luxurious Ford Escape with a heftier price tag. The standard engine on offer is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-banger than delivers 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. A 2.3-liter EcoBoost is also available with 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet on tap. Entry-level models come with front-wheel drive as standard, but higher trim levels, including models equipped with the 2.3-liter, get all-wheel drive as standard equipment.

Lincoln’s Black Friday deals aren’t the greatest, but as a brand that primarily offers glorified badge-engineered models, you can’t really expect too much. As such, Lincoln is offering up to $3,750 cash back and interest-free financing for 60 months.

Volvo V60/Cross-Country

Okay, so the V60 and V60 Cross-Country are really wagons, but I’m placing them here anyway as they serve the same utilitarian and people-hauling purpose. Despite being released in 2011, the V60 didn’t make it to the U.S. until 2014 when it went under its first major facelift. Still fresh on the market here, don’t expect the V60 to change much over the next few years. Here in the U.S, the V60 is offered with just one engine, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that delivers 240 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. But, if that’s not enough, the V60 Polestar is massaged to deliver a cool 345 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.

Volvo’s website doesn’t offer up anything special for Black Friday events, but it is currently running its winter sales promotion where Volvo will pay the first three payments. Some sources, however, indicated up to $3,500 cash back and 1.9-percent financing to 60 months. Not the greatest deals around, but then again, we’re talking about Volvo and brand loyalty goes a long way.

Nissan Leaf

The Leaf is Nissan's resident electric car, and despite its sad range of just 107 miles, Nissan believes it’s the best electric car out there. So, it should come as no surprise that Nissan is offering up a pretty sweet deal for the Leaf. Packed with a 24 kWh battery as standard or 30 kWh battery as an option, the Leaf boasts a single electric motor that delivers just 107 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque. To get the 30 kWh battery, you have to opt for the more expensive SC and SL trim levels.

So what is Nissan’s deal on the leaf? Well, it’s really not that bad. Sources indicate that you can get up to $10,825 in leasing cash, or $4,000 cash back and interest-free financing for 72 months if you opt to buy. It’s not too bad, and it can save you quite a bit of money if you exercise your sales person just right. The problem is, this deal could be location specific as Nissan’s website doesn’t mention much of it. So, with that in mind, you may want to contact your local dealer before showing up all bright eyed and fuzzy tailed hoping to get an awesome deal on Nissan’s electric car.

Ford’s big car deal this year comes in the form of a discount on its Ford Fusion Energi. The Fusion Energi was Ford’s first major push into the plug-in hybrid segment, and it did so with the addition of a 7.6 kWh battery, and an electric motor that is paired with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder. On a fully charged battery, the Fusion Energi can deliver up to 195 horsepower and sprint to 60 in about eight seconds. Fuel economy is rated at 44 mpg in the city, 41 mpg on the highway, and 43 mpg combined. As far as MPGe goes, the EPA rates it at 108 in the city, 92 on the highway, and 100 combined. Of course, that’s MPGe, so take that for what its worth.

Hyundai Veloster

When Hyundai Discontinued the Tiburon, it’s replacement came as the Veloster – a model that was also a hatchback, but took a much different approach to body design. The Veloster has been around since 2011 and hasn’t changed much, however, there have been several SEMA concepts, and there is the Veloster Turbo that offers slightly better performance. In base form, the Veloster’s 1.6-liter engine delivers 138 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque. Shifting duties can be handled by a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch unit. 60 mph comes in about eight seconds while still offering decent fuel economy. It’s not the most comfortable car to sit in if you’re a larger person, but it is a compact hatchback, so you shouldn’t expect too much room anyway.

Dodge revived the Dart name in 2012 for a compact sedan model that would be the first in Dodge’s lineup since the Neon was discontinued back in 2005. Apparently, Chrysler just doesn’t get what people want out of a compact sedan, because like the Chrysler 200, the Dodge Dart has ended production with 2016 being the last model year. Offered with a total of three engines to choose from, the Dart can be had with up to 184 horsepower from a 2.4-liter, Tigershark, four-cylinder.

While the Dart may be on its way out, Dodge is said to be offering up to $3,500 cash back or interest-free financing for 84 months. That’s not a whole lot to convince you to buy something that, based on prior sales, isn’t worth having, but your local dealer may be offering better incentives just to get their remaining stock off of the lot. With a starting price of $16,995, you could potentially get into one pretty cheap, but higher trim levels come in well over the $20,000 mark.

Cadillac CTS

The Cadillac CTS has been around since the 2004 model year and came into its third generation for the 2015 model year. A minor revision came for 2016, but for the most part, the CTS has remained the same. The CTS can be had with one of three different engines, with power output ranging between 272 ponies and 420 ponies. Fuel economy isn’t the best, but for a larger sedan, it isn’t bad, with the Sedan garnering as much as 19 mpg in the city and 20 mph on the highway. It can also be had with all-wheel drive, which drops those numbers to 18 and 28, respectively.

Cadillac doesn’t seem to be pushing any serious Black Friday sales like the rest of the manufacturers out there, but some sources are indicated as much as $3,500 cash back or interest-free financing for 72 months. Looking at Cadillac’s website offers up a different story, however, with regular offers for 2016 models being a purchase allowance of $3,000 or interest-free financing for 60 months. That being the case, you may want to check with your local dealer before showing up ready to sign on the dotted line.

Surely, these aren’t all of the deals out there, but this is a good handful of what is available as we head into the holiday season. Most manufacturers offer month long sales during November, while still labeling them as Black Friday deals, so don’t be surprised if the same deal you see now is available through the month of November. It’s also important to remember that Dealers are really pushing to sell off their 2016 stock now that 2017 models are available, so it’s quite likely that you can strike a really good deal on a 2016 model if you really know how to work over a salesman.

Furthermore, don’t forget that dealers are also able to offer their own incentives that include cash back, special treatment, and even discounts on pricing, so if you’re really looking to get into a new car while the deals are hot, shop around with various dealers in your area to see which one will do best for you. If they know they are competing for your business, they’ll be willing to do more for you to secure the sale. Finally, remember that Black Friday is wild even at car dealerships. Some will even source special sales staff that are specially trained to increase sales, so be careful and question everything. Don’t let these salesman-for-hire get one over on you by selling you something you don’t need or want.
