Akrapovic has been making its way down the sports car list, with tuning kits provided for the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Mitubishi Evo X. This time, however, the tuner has gone on to tuning something bigger: the BMW X6 M. So far, the secretive tuners have only released some images for the new project, but we imagine that this package will see some of the same updates as the previous ones.

A standard BMW X6 M is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 engine that delivers 555 hp at 6,000 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque from 1500 to 5,650 rpm, but with the new exhaust system we expect to see a power increase of at least 10 HP. The new exhaust system will also be lighter by at least 14 kilos in turn making the SUV lighter. Combine all of this with a red exterior paint, a new set of wheels painted in black, and the black color of exhaust system and we get the perfect X6 M.

Unfortunately for Akrapovic, there’s already been an extremely nice tuning kit provided for the sports car by the guys over at Vorsteiner. Well, technically, there have been two packages considering Vorsteiner was displeased with the first one and decided to add to it. Now all we have to do is wait to see the final product for the Akrapovic package.

I like the decent look of this SUV. I think the speed performance of this car is just similar to its production version. It seems that Akrapovic focused more in modifying the look of this car,

What else to say, but the styling of this car is quite impressive. However, when it comes to its speed performance I don’t think that 10 hp is a good boost power I was expecting for at least 30 hp but the good thing is that its torque was around 500.

Not really a big upgrade for the BMW X6, additional 10 hp in the power output is not too much though. However, Aesthetically this car is awesome and it looks good in red!

I think the figure performance of this car is just similar to its production version. However, Akrapovic have come up with an awesome tuning kit here. BTW, i want to know the full package deal set by this tuning company.

Classic colors are still the best. I would rather stick with the vintage colors as well because it preserves the uniqueness and elegance of the car.

Yes, we are suffering from an economic crisis but there are few people who have been successful in their own fields that is why they can afford to buy this one. Looks like am too envy of those rich people. Hope they can bargain the price as well so that the people can appreciate and feel the extreme happiness of owning a BMW.

So it seems that X6 has made a modification in tuning package only. I haven’t read that they are actually planning for the upgrade in the engine!

I think it is important for a manufacturer to build a unique personality for their car to have a distinction. Many people have mistakenly said that this is a coupe, Acura or whatsoever! Just like what happen to ZDX!

better if they made the rear diffusera carbon plus the lense of the rear lamp is in smoked color.

For 2011 the BMW X6 gets the redesigned turbo I-6 with BMW’s Valvetronic technology, which delivers faster throttle response, even faster turbo boost spooling, and better fuel efficiency.

this is the most interesting x6 i’ve ever seen in topspeed the color os great, wheels are impressive and one hell of a performer.

The new eight-speed automatic is found throughout the range, replacing the six-speed unit previously found in the vehicle, though the monstrous 555-horsepower X6 M isn’t part of the update.

The car looks totally amazing. I would choose this as the best cars though not the most beautiful.

It looks like a lot of people will like it but only few can afford it. But still, BMW executed it well.

Europeans will still get the xDrive30d, a smaller diesel than what we’ll see here in the U.S., though the xDrive40d looks to up the output a bit over the current X5 xDrive35d.

For me those numbers,
(555 hp at 6,000 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque from 1500 to 5,650 rpm) do not make to much sense. I am unable to translate them in real time performance. Can you tell me the applications or their benefits in terms of performance)?

Great images, but no front image of the X6? Or they are still working on it? smiley

One night I had a dream, I was dreaming that I was making city drifts in one of these babies and I was feeling it’s raw power! I can wait the day when I’ll be driving an X6
