Car wrapping is a delicate art that sometimes requires restraint. Lose it and your work becomes a little too abrasive. Hold off on the art and the product could look pedestrian. There are only a few companies in the world that can expertly strike a balance between the two and one of them is Fostla.De. The German tuner is one of the best in the business at this and recently, the company presented a new program for the BMW X5 that embodied the tuner’s affinity for car wrapping. See, the tuner’s program for the X5 comes with an anodized matte-red car wrap to go with a significant performance boost.

We appreciate the fact that Fostla prepared a comprehensive upgrade for the X5, but it’s hard to notice them all when all that red is staring you in the face. But hey, the program does come with a significant performance boost, which is more than we can say for other car-wrapping specialists who don’t venture into the the engine compartment.

The entire kit costs €8,500, which is about $10,700 based on the exchange rate on 7/30/2014. It’s a nice program for the X5, although its pretty steep price tag might dissuade some customers.

The aesthetic upgrades on the X5 are limited to the aforementioned anodized matte-red car wrap. Still, there are a few details worth mentioning, specifically Fostla.De’s decision to incorporate the hue over the entire body of the X5. Look a little closer at the BMW roundel and you will notice that its colors have also been reconfigured to complement the anodized matte-red wrap covering the body.

Fostla.De enlisted the help of PP-Performance to give the BMW X5 a serious increase in performance capabilities. With PP-Performance in charge of the engine upgrade, the tuner was able to increase the output of the X5 to an incredible 650 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. That’s a significant increase from the 555 horsepower and 501 pound-feet of torque that the stock model produced.

Rounding out Fostla.De’s program for the BMW X5 is a new set of BMW’s own 21-inch high-performance wheels. The wheels themselves aren’t mind-blowing, but you have to appreciate the fact that Fostla.De is fixing up this X5 in the best possible way, anodized matte-red car wrap notwithstanding.

Kirby Garlitos
Automotive Aftermarket Expert -
Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More

The pros of full or partial car wrapping in comparison to full or partial car painting went about even to the most far car freak, because the offered by car wrapping possibilities are nearly inexhaustible. Else than in case of in a relatively short time disappearing again fashion trends, as e.g. chameleon effect paintings, wrappings hold the market since many years and the choice of variants grows continuously. Without any doubts, the company at Seelze near Hannover counts among the the illustrious circle of full professionals not only in fields of car wrapping.

The recent creativity prove, the company from Lower Saxony has given by this E70 BMW X5 M, which has got a full wrapping in anodized mat-red. Thanks to, this „ magic hood“ gives the X5 with its much sought-after “M” first of all the role of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Furthermore, the car glass is tinted and all kind of chrome parts present themselves in shiny black giving interesting contrast.

In order to make the BMW become project car, there was performed an additional stage 2 power improvement, made on loco by co-operation partner PP-Performance. Thus, the serial 555 HP transform into the power of 650 chipper-perky wild horses chomping at the bit, max. torque climbing from 680 up to giant 900 Newton meters, for what the installed by down pipes and the complete Akrapovic exhaust system (the latter only warrants for additional 25 HP) are blamed in a certain way. At the end, the bolide rolls upon BMW-own 21” High Performance wheels with low section tires in matching dimensions.
