Welcome back to the party, BMW M3! The German automaker’s new sports sedan would’ve been forgiven for feeling a little slighted seeing the BMW 4 Series->ke3834 and the BMW M4 get a lot of the tuning love and attention. But despair no more, you wonderful German sports sedan!->ke142 Josh Shokri, the founder of Speed District has come to save the day. Shokri enlisted the help of American tuner MORR Wheels to work on this particular M3, which is actually the first F80 M3 in the U.S. As if that wasn’t enough to make it special, it also received a comprehensive tuning upgrade that justifies the M3’s billing as the first of its kind in the States.

The car itself is being billed as a Yas Marina Blue M3 Sedan. That’s a nod to the sport’s sedan’s signature color, which actually looks pretty good when all the added components are put together.

As far as we can tell, this project is billed as a test bed for MORR Wheels and a handful of other aftermarket companies like Brembo. It remains to be seen if this kit will hit the tuning market soon, although we’re not getting our hopes up at this moment.

But at the very least, we get to see what the M3 is capable of when it’s given some attention by aftermarket tuners. Maybe after this, we’ll see more tuned-up M3s down the road.

BMW M3 Yas Marina Blue By MORR Wheels in detail

It wouldn’t be fair to leave out all the BMW accessories that come with this M3. We already mentioned the Yas Marina Blue finish, but it’s far from the only BMW option installed in the M3. It also has a carbon-fiber interior trim, an Executive Package, a Driver assistance package, a Lighting Package, and a Harman Kardon surround sound.

MORR Wheels is solely responsible for the new wheels. From afar, they look especially saucy, but you can’t appreciate them until you look a little closer. Those are 20-inch, ten-spoke MonoForged VS52 Competition wheels. They’re a part of MORR Wheels’ Competition Series, which is the lightest of its kind at just 20 pounds per piece. Brembo’s Big Brake Kit was also installed, which are made up of 380-mm (14.96-inch) front and rear slotted rotors with yellow calipers.

The final piece of this program is a beta tuning power upgrade that improves the output from the M3's 3.0-liter, inline-six engine to a tidy 580 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque. That's a massive increase from the engine's standard output of 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.

No mention was made of its new performance numbers, but we're estimating it'll sprint to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds to go with a top speed of about 180 mph.
