Formula Drift BMW M2 Attempts To Go Fast In a Straight Line, But A BMW 318is Time Attack Monster Has Something To Say About It
Hoonigan’s “This vs That” has given us some of the most epic drag race battle, we have ever seen. If a build is crazy fast and weird, it’s bound to show up on their channel, and this time, we have two very different BMWs squaring off against each other. The first bonkers machine is a BMW M2 Formula Drift car while the second one is a BMW E36, built specifically for Time Attack. Neither of the cars is meant to race on a drag strip, so it should be very interesting.
An Epic Drag Race Between A BMW M4 Competition xDrive And An Audi RS5 Takes Place On An Empty Runway
German performance cars are capable all-rounders, but when on the unrestricted sections of the German Autobahn, only one thing matters – straight-line acceleration and top speed. With this in mind, YouTube channel Daniel Abt has arranged for two German performance coupes – a BMW M4 Competition xDrive and an Audi RS5 – to battle it out on an empty runway, and see how quickly they can get up to Autobahn speeds.
A Bold Design Could Foreshadow The Next BMW M4 GTR
BMW makes some of the best performance cars, but the company’s design language has been quite divisive in recent times. This is especially true for the BMW 4 Series, which is expected to get its most powerful, road-going version – the M4 CSL – in May 2022. While the test prototype has revealed plenty of details, a Vietnamese designer that goes by huy.a.tran on Instagram has given us his take on what a BMW M4 CSL should be, and it looks way better than BMW’s own creation.
Lucid Air And Tesla Model S Plaid Redefine Speed By Racing Against Gravity And A BMW E39 M5
High-performance EVs are here and they are very fast. The Tesla Model S Plaid and, now, the Lucid Air are both capable of 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in the two-second range, and both pack over 1,000 horsepower. To get an idea of just how fast cars have become, both EVs will square off against the fastest sedan from 20 years go – the BMW M5 E39 – in a quarter-mile drag race with a twist, after which both EVs will race against…a person falling from an airplane.
Track Battle: Can The Ultra-lightweight Caterham 360R Take On The BMW M3 xDrive Competition
Power to weight ratio is an important tangible aspect of any car when it comes to performance. But where is the point in which big horsepower prevails over a better power-to-weight ratio? Auto Express has provided an answer to that, by pitting the ultra-lightweight Caterham 360R versus the tech-heavy BMW M3 xDrive Competition, in a race around a racetrack.
Watch A German Family Performance Sedan Take On A Revered Japanese Sports Car And A V-12 Italian Supercar!
The ‘Carwow’ team is back with yet another drag race; this time involving three cars in their pinnacle performance trims, but very different from one another. The three-way bout included the BMW M5 CS, the Nissan GT-R Nismo, and the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. I’m not spoiling the races here, but let’s just say all the cars had their moments to shine at some or the other point, thus making this a far from boring or a monotonous race. That’s always better than the one-way quashes, isn’t it?
Drag Race: Watch This 43-HP Vespa Punch Well Above Its Weight Against A 430-HP BMW M3
When it comes to drag racing, cars vs motorcycles is particularly interesting. We always wonder how powerful a car needs to be in order to run with a crouch-rocket, but this time, it’s the other way around. A highly-modified Vespa scooter thinks it has enough horsepower to go up against an almost stock, BMW E92 M3. The BMW outguns the Vespa 10:1, in terms of horsepower, but it also weighs a lot more, which results in some surprisingly close races.
Did The... Did The BMW M5 CS Just Beat The Ferrari 812 In A Drag Race?!?!
Drag races are almost always fun, and they are absolutely ridiculous when a weird pairing makes for one cracker of a race. Mat Watson from Carwow did that when he got a BMW M5 CS to the drag strip to go up against the Ferrari 812. Both these are cars are completely different from each other – one’s got a naturally aspirated V-12 and the other a twin-turbo V-8; one’s a practical four-door daily driver, and the other, a garage queen and a weekend supercar. But, when they met on the drag strip, all hell broke loose.
Does The Lexus RC F Have In It To Beat The BMW M4 With A Third Pedal?
Sam from ‘Sam CarLegion’ is not new to getting different cars together for a series of drag races and roll races. Remember the time when he got a Fusion Sport that humiliated a Ford Mustang? Building on the “not-the-race-we-wanted-but-the race-we-needed” series, Sam got a Lexus RC F to take on the popular car, the BMW M4. One’s got a V-8, the other a six-pot mill; one’s naturally aspirated and the other comes with a turbocharger. But, the difference that could be a deciding factor is the gearbox. It’s a manual gearbox vs automatic transmission. You’ve got the Kidney grille or the spindle?
The BMW i4 M50 Challenges The BMW M3 For The Performance Sedan Crown
BMW is gradually expanding its EV lineup and one of the newest additions is the BMW i4 M50. This is currently the closest thing to an all-electric equivalent of the BMW M3 Competition, which is why CarWow decided to pit these two together, for a series of drag races.
A Tuned Toyota GR Supra Attempts To School The BMW M4 Competition In Gappology
Ever since the Toyota GR Supra came out, we have been wondering how it stacks up to some of BMW’s higher echelon of performance cars. To answer the question, Sam CarLegion has arranged for a tuned Toyota GR Supra and a BMW M4 Competition G82 to meet at the drag strip. We know the GR Supra is quite capable and has beaten much more powerful cars on the quarter-mile. Can it win this one?

The Bertini GT25 Is An Oddly Successful British-Italian-German Mish-Mash, You Have Never Heard Of
Looking at most kit cars, it’s understandable why most of them are not taken seriously. While the majority of them are a cheap imitation of the real thing, there are some kit cars that deserve a closer look. The Bertini GT25, which not too long ago was featured on the YouTube channel Number 27, is one such car. It’s an Italian name, with British heritage, and a German heart.
This 1988 BMW E24 M6 Is An Awesome Attainable Classic
We love scouting attainable classic cars and this one is the latest to grab our attention – a 1988 BMW M635CSi, which in North America is simply known as the M6. The E24 generation, often called “the shark nose” can easily be considered one of the most iconic BMW models ever made. It also shared an engine (sort of) with the mid-engine BMW M1 (E26). With this in mind, the website colelctingcars.com has a very interesting listing of a 1988 BMW M6, which we think is worth the look.
This V-8-Swapped BMW 1M Coupe Might Be The Perfect Driver’s Car
BMW’s slogan is “Sheer driving pleasure” and in reality, most of what has come from the brand’s M-division has managed to live up to those words. The BMW 1M Coupe, in particular, was praised by many, including Jeremy Clarkson, for being one of the best driver’s cars, ever made. However, someone decided that’s not good enough and tore out the 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline-six for a much bigger V-8. Is this individual insane or is he/she on to something? Mike Fernie from DriveTribe takes it for a spin to find out.
BMW M3 Competition And Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm Driven Back To Back
Carwow has been synonymous with staging some of the most exciting drag races, more often than not, between stock, production cars. However, the same YouTube channel, occasionally gives us a proper comparison between two high-performance vehicles – in this case, the new BMW M3 Competition and Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio GTAm.
