2023 BMW 7 Series
The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is nothing but a declaration of high-tech war aimed at its two main rivals, the Audi A8 and the 7 Series. BMW’s flagship received a hefty facelift in 2019 for the 2020 model year and other than the enlarged grille, it got a tech upgrade, including BMW’s then-new iDrive 7.0 setup. However, you can only stay relevant for a short time in the current luxury car climate and with the S-Class making no rebates on the technology front, BMW is already working on the next-generation 7er. Here’s everything we know so far.
2020 BMW M8 Gran Coupe Driven
The BMW M8 Gran Coupe offers the same rapid and effortless acceleration, impressive interior, and command of the road without the sacrifice that comes with owning the standard M8 – a lack of interior space. In a sense, the M8 Gran Coupe sort of fixes everything that was wrong with the M8 coupe while bringing the M8 to a place where it’s more capable of carrying a family or – at the very least – four full-grown adults. Does the mean that the M8 Gran Coupe is just another four-door coupe or is there more substance to it? We spent a week with one to find out, and this is what we’ve learned.
2021 BMW 745Le xDrive Ellerman House
Special edition models come in all shapes and sizes. Some come in the form of tiny pocket rockets while others come in the form of luxury barges on four wheels. The BMW 745Le for Ellerman House falls closer with the latter, and it fits the bill of a legitimate special edition model that was created exclusively for the luxury boutique hotel in Cape Town, South Africa. That means the BMW 745Le for Ellerman House isn’t for sale; you can only ride it if you stay at Ellerman House. That’s a fair tradeoff for the opportunity to ride in one of the most exclusive BMW 745Le models in the world.
2021 BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition
It looks like we’re going through some ‘dark’ days lately. A couple of days back,Ram introduced a Black Edition package for its heavy duty trucks, and now BMW has come up with one for the X7 SUV. Called the Dark Shadow Edition, this appearance package will be limited to just 500 examples worldwide and the U.S. will receive 75 of those. BMW is asking $120,490 for this exclusive edition X7.
2020 BMW 8 Series Golden Thunder Edition
BMW is back at its special edition game with a new attire for the 8 Series. While the package looks alright and will at least prevent owners from painting their 8er’s rims gold, we cannot not wonder just how helpful will the Golden Thunder Edition prove to be for the 8 Series’ sales cause.

2020 BMW 750i - Driven
Prior to 2020, the BMW 7 Series was somewhat lacking when compared to models like the Audi A8 and Mercedes S-Class. For 2020, however, BMW put the 7 Series through an extensive facelift that included a revised exterior look, fresh technology, and updated powertrains – most of which were all inspired by the new BMW 8 Series. With a new V-8 engine being offered in the 750i trim, it was time to see what the 7 Series can offer, and we did exactly that. This is our experience with the BMW 750i and what we thought after spending a whole week with one of BMW’s most expensive models.
2020 BMW X7 - Driven
The BMW X7 is one of the newest models in Bimmer’s lineup, and it serves a noble purpose as the brand’s flagship SUV (or Sports Activity Vehicle, if you listen to BMW’s “we-need-to-be-different” nonsense.) It was announced back in 2014, and shown off in concept form (the BMW X7 iPerformance Concept) in 2017, but wasn’t available at dealers until March 2019. Since then, we’ve been itching to get behind the wheel of one, and BMW was happy to oblige.
As you might expect from a flagship model, the X7 is about as luxurious as you can get without dipping your toes in the six-figure range. It comes close, with the X7 XDrive50i commanding an MSRP of $92,600, but it won’t cross that big mark unless you start checking off option boxes. Even the M50i falls just shy of six figures at $99,600. Under the hood of our xDrive50i sat a 4.4-liter V-8 (the same one that may be discontinued soon enough,) and it was good for 456 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The sprint to 60 mph was rated at 5.2, but we got there in just a hair over 5 seconds, mighty impressive for a vehicle that weighs 5,617 pounds.
Interior space of the X7 was great, but what really caught our attention was the air suspension that would raise or lower as needed. Loading something into the rear? No problem, the suspension will drop to make it easier for you. Going over rough roads? Raise it up a notch. Spirited driving? The suspension will help keep things level. It’s like there’s nothing it can’t do. Comfort was on par with what you would expect, while materials and fit and finish were top notch.

2020 BMW X6 - Driven
The BMW X6 has been around since 2007, and in the space of 13 years, it has become one of the most popular coupe-SUVs in the segment. Now that the third-generation X6 (GO6) has arrived, Bimmer’s resident coupe-SUV is ready to take on all comers in its segment. The third-generation X6 comes with plenty of upgrades. All the press releases and first-wave reviews made points of all of that. But you don’t get to appreciate these upgrades until you actually see the X6 in person, as we did when we recently took one out for a spin around town.
The all-new X6 looks good on paper, but it looks even better up close. BMW outdid itself in designing a coupe-SUV that fully embraces its identity. The X6 also comes with a gorgeous interior, though that’s hardly a surprise considering the company that makes it. Very little about the all-new X6 comes as a disappointment, though considering the market that it calls home, it’s still going to have a fight in its hands against some of its rivals. BMW did the new X6 proud, though. It’s arriving at the party packing serious lead.
2020 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe
The 2020 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe is a four-door coupe version of the 2020 8 Series, released in 2019. Just like the 2020 8 Series replaced the 6 Series, the 2020 8 Series Gran Coupe replaces the 6 Series Gran Coupe. This new, modern, sporty, and powerful sedan is a better alternative to the popular Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and the Audi A7.
Often described as BMW’s new flagship model, the 2020 8 Series actually slots below the 7 Series, at least when it comes to size. So instead of a new alternative to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8, the 8 Series aims to make BMW relevant in the luxury four-door coupe niche. Does it have what it takes to compete? Well, it looks good, it’s powerful enough, and has all the cool tech. But it’s a bit expensive. Let’s find out more in the review below.
2020 BMW M8 Gran Coupe
The 2020 BMW M8 Gran Coupe is the range-topping version of the 8 Series Gran Coupe. As the latter replaces the 6 Series Gran Coupe, the 2020 M8 Gran Coupe steps in to replace the M6 Gran Coupe. Essentially an M8 Coupe with extra rear doors, the 2020 M8 Gran Coupe shares almost everything with its two-door counterpart. So just like the two-door, it’s available in two flavors output-wise, both powered by the mighty 4.4-liter V-8 engine.
The 2020 M8 Gran Coupe arrives just in time to compete with the recently launched Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe and the new, second-generation Audi RS7. Let’s find out more about BMW’s range-topping high-performance four-door in the review below.
2020 BMW M850i Convertible - Driven
The year was 2018, and it was time for BMW to have a Halo car outside of the aging i8, but BMW didn’t go for another EV or a high-powered supercar. Instead, after a 20-year hiatus, BMW decided that it was time to revive the 8 Series name, and that’s exactly what happened on June 15, 2018. The modern, sporty 2019 BMW 8 Series shot like an arrow straight to the heart of purists as BMW let out the roaring promise of crippling power in a sexy coupe silhouette – 523 horsepower in M850i form, to be specific. Since the return of the new 8 Series that hot day in the middle of June, the 8 Series lineup has expanded to include the 840i, M850i, M8, and the soon-to-launch Gran Coupe that should be offered in both M850i and M8 form.
Like most BMW fanboys, we started picking apart the new BMW 8 Series. We wondered: Is it worthy of the 8 Series name? Will it be worth the near-six-figure price? Can this large of a car really offer up the performance, handling, and luxury that not only have we come to expect from BMW but from something that wears the crown of a halo car? We’ve set out to find the truth on a number of occasions, and have even compared it on paper to the 6 Series, the Aston Martin DB11, and the Mercedes S-Class. It wasn’t until Summer of 2019 that we actually got to sit behind the wheel of the new 8 Series, though. But, when we did, we were graced with the honor of driving the M850i Convertible – a model that is said to blend 523 horsepower, world-class driving dynamics, and the best open-air feeling on the market.
The question now is, however, does the all-new 8 Series actually live up to the bold claims made by BMW? Well, we spent a whole week with the M850i Convertible, and this is our story. You might want to buckle up because things get interesting!!
BMW M850i by Manhart Racing
If rumors are to be believed, the BMW 8 Series Coupé is not long for this world. The good news, though, is that the impending demise is still a few years away. That should give us enough time to enjoy a model like the BMW M850i M Performance. Turns out, we’re not the only ones that have adopted a similar approach. Manhart Racing has been having some fun with the performance 8er, enough at least to create an arresting new tuning program that covers a lot of ground in the M850i. From exterior upgrades to engine enhancements, the German tuner has been a busy bee in the lab, though all that hard work appears to be time well-spent. This BMW M850i means business, and you wouldn’t want to be in its crosshairs.
BMW has decided to bring back the 8 Series, a model that was last produced in 1999. Since then, BMW did have the 6 Series Coupe, but now the 6 Series is only available as a four-door, while the new 8 is the top of the line coupe. The 8 series is available as an 840i with a six-cylinder engine or as an M850i with a V-8. We decided to test the V-8 version to see if the M850i is any good.
2020 ALPINA B7 xDrive Sedan
Alpina and BMW have a long history. The former has been tuning Bimmers for over five decades and even provides graphic packages, different alloy designs, etc. Realizing the rising demand of Alpina-tuned cars, BMW started selling them through its own dealerships in the U.S. This time, BMW and Alpina have worked on the former’s big-face flagship luxury sedan to create an explosive monster known as the 2020 Alpina B7. The 2020 B7 was unveiled earlier this month in Palm Springs and is the sixth-generation luxury model from Alpina.
2020 BMW 8 Series Convertible
Unveiled for the 2019 model year, the modern BMW 8 Series revives the iconic nameplate that the German firm produced from 1990 to 1999. Unlike its predecessor, the new 8 Series also spawned a convertible version to tackle the drop-top variant of the luxurious Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.
After nearly two decades on the shelf, the BMW 8 Series is back, and it’s once again looking to head the BMW lineup with sporty grand touring luxury as a replacement for the outgoing 6 Series. Revived in both racing and full production form at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Bavarians kicked things off with a hardtop coupe iteration, but this new flagship also spawned a convertible ahead of the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. Does it have what it takes to give the S-Class Cabriolet a run for its money?
